I can see why the roosters are such a force. His ability to communicate and clearley explain a complicated situation is impressive. I learnt way more here than I did listening to Gus and that other goose.
Because he actually cares about his players, it’s not about winning all the time. Other teams get a bad concussion then throw the player straight back in the next week. (Mahoney parramatta)
@Bustin Cider wasn't even a yellow card high shot buddy. Best to watch the game with your eyes next time so you can remember what happened. Coming from a roosters fan, Lachlan Burt should not have been sin binned for that tackle. Teddy didn't need a HIA as the trainer had already confirmed on field that he didn't show any symptoms of a concussion.
Robbo nailed it on every question asked him. He should be running the NRL. Kenty doesn't have the kahunas to talk over Robbo, like he does to everyone else, especially since what Robbo has said essentially does not line up with what Kenty says about the crackdown in the earlier segments.
I liked what he said about defence also but in saying that I wish they would get Beaver footage tackling. He came up with the best leg tackles of all time without ever knocking himself out.
In an ideal world, Trent would have retired from coaching and he would be the head of the NRL. Instead we have an accountant from a non-League nation as CEO, and a Chairman who, although he means well, is far too knee jerk in his responses and who needs to take on board a whole lot of external advice before giving us his latest sound bite.
Why do none of these players who have been repeatedly concussed wear a headgear. Dallas Johnson is a great example of a player that prolonged his career by wearing one after repeated concussions.
Not a fan of the Roosters, but fair comments by Trent. They should have done this properly at the start of the season, when everyone was pumped for the season. Do it now and its reactive and not being properly planned, implemented. NO issues with the game being adjusted, for people to not be vegetables later in life. But for goodness sake do it over time and with all inputs. The fans are upset because it was a badly planned and we had people sent off for just trivial hits. Good discussion though, see you can talk like adults guys :D
Because they haven’t? It’s just people like you who’s teams are not successful have to watch them win a premiership every couple of years who make up crap so they can sleep at night.
here you go James Brennan.. Roosters' 2013 premiership Of the 17 players in that premiership team, 10 (Anthony Minichiello, Daniel Tupou, Shaun Kenny-Dowall, Roger Tuivasa-Sheck, Mitchell Pearce, Aidan Guerra, Boyd Cordner, Jake Friend, Frank-Paul Nuuausala and Mitchell Aubusson) made their NRL debuts with the Roosters, while Jared Waerea-Hargreaves played just 6 matches for Manly in 2009 before joining the Club. Roosters' 2018 premiership Of the 17 players in that premiership team, 10 (Tupou, Mitchell, Joseph Manu, Friend, Cordner, Aubusson, Victor Radley, Isaac Liu, Dylan Napa and Ryan Matterson) made their NRL debuts with the Roosters, while two others (Sio Siua Taukeiaho and Waerea-Hargreaves) played just seven NRL matches prior to joining. They are able to buy players such as Tedesco, Cooper Cronk, Keary, Hall and Angus Crichton because so many of their other squad members have been developed in-house.
Literally every concussion shown behind them on the big screen was from the defender making the tackle , apart from JT getting smacked by old mat dragon. Noone wants to see head high tackles on the Reg, but i think they are missing causation slightly
That’s the difference between a multiple Premiership winning coach and Ricky Stuart. Instead of sulking over 50/50 calls that doesn’t go your teams way and blaming on the ref. He should dissect and analysis how to improve on ways to play the game.
Until it is scientifically understood what type of knock causes cte and if the persons can be hit more than once in a season....... its hard to listen to these turkeys state they are looking for symptoms as it cant be ruled out that even small knocks without concussion (obvious concussion) also cause CTE........
Football analogy sucks, when explaining why people want to watch . Absolute wrong analogy that’s been handed around the dressing rooms. Come on presenters and guests, educate yourselves. Your viewing audience have their own brains. These changes are all to stem the flow of future lawsuits. I’ve commented many times and over many years for the compulsory wearing at a minimum, of headgear but no one ever brought it up on these talk shows. At the moment you can find comments saying it isn’t about potential litigation but this will soon change. Did no one watch the Will Smith movie called Concussion? Even decisions made by umpires are being taken away from them! All decisions are real time reviewed by the bunker, refs are a token measure to give validity to a game. League players will no longer be the warriors of old and these groveling comments stating “ we care about the best interests of our players” only came about in the last 20 years and sound parroted. This game will continue to be a crowd puller and all this nonsense will settle down but the idiots that decided to make these changes at this point in the season should be removed from any further decisions, ludicrous.
All good and well the coaches see they have a job to do.. but I doubt therell be much of a career in the NRL if the fans keep turning away from the current product.
no more biffs no more shoulder charges now accidental head-highs NRL yet to question the refs over ruining the game by banned calls... game has become like touch footy..
Yep, ruining the game. People need to learn what "accident" means and how it is out of a person's control and cannot change because the intention wasn't there in the first place.
@@paulk8072 Firstly, there's a difference between incidental and reckless. Many of those shots over the weekend, and in the past, were reckless. They were tackles where the defending player went in with no care for the opposing players' safety, did not care if he hit him high or put him in a dangerous position (i.e. crusher tackle, dangerous angle etc.). Players need to, and can, have their behaviour around tackling changed. And, if done properly, it will not compromise the brutality and excitement of the game. And even if it did, as a viewer, I would feel a lot better knowing that players long-term health and safety isn't in jeopardy, and with the knowledge that when they retire they can go home to their wives, their parents and their children 100%.
It's not about "not caring", it's about an accident made with zero intention behind the action. You shouldn't penalise so harshly, the system was working fine.
You are like those psychopaths who want a utopia with zero accidents, it isn't possible. You have to be able to live with mistakes, forgive and move on in a world which is largely "unfair" - it's life.
Especially when Kenty brings up the "gladitorial" aspect. Additionally the bullshit about conforming to other sports is a cop-out, the UFC and boxing are great examples to the contrary.
Every club and coach look after there players from concussions , the reason Robbo is given the attention is because so many rooster players have suffered concussions 🙄
Then why did parramatta play Mahoney the next week after he was severely knocked out against the roosters? Not every team cares and gives the player the right amount of time before chucking them straight back out there a week later.
Ikin holding the table like a lad takin one for the team holding an unsteady table in a pub until his mate gets the coasters to steady er

It was one of the best interviews on 360. Gus is phoney and a blabber.

@Bustin Cider He sits his stars out for long stretches of periods, what other club does that?
@Bustin Cider we didn’t perform the HIA on James because the trainer didn’t say he need to once he went on the field
Money wise and health wise he looks out for them

Very wise words
Teddy needs to stop falling down when approaching the tackler. Put your head up and let the tackler tackle you below.
Yeah mate he's like a soccer player in the NRL, always ducking and milking penalties. These new rules are going to reward cowardice.
