if the difference between making the 8 is 1 single player at your club, you have bigger issues than 1 player resting after an entire origin series.

Rubbish - the Roosters have under-performed since 2019, after Cooper Cronk retired.
Haven’t made the top 4 since 2020
You could pinpoint this years spiral at the point in which they dumped Sam Walker.

Teddy hasn’t been playing well all year - but to put all the pressure of the entire club on him is unfair. Many players, even the experienced ones, have been lacking

Chooks are going to have a very low period coming up. They have no juniors and a lot of their big players only have a few years at best left in them. Not sure who they can poach but they pretty much need a new squad
@@Chrissmillsroosters have never had juniors, still hasn’t stopped them from winning 3 premierships from 2013-2019. Their juniors catchment is so tiny I don’t see why anyone even bothers to mention it.

@@andydavis453 honestly the way the Roosters defended in that second half against the Raiders the Roosters deserve to the win game. To be honest the referees in my opinion made the right call, and I personally believe since the night of that Grand final, and I also believed the Raiders choke in that Grand Final too. I mean the Readers had like 70% of possession, and all the territory, and multiple set of six on the Roosters try line, and Cooper Cronk was in the sin bin, and the Raiders only scored two points in an entire second half, and the once the Raiders actually had to do some defending it seemed that second half, and Raiders give up a try 80 yards. I mean if it wasn't for my broncos in 2015, the 2019 Raiders should be known as the biggest chokers of the previous decade when it comes to Grand Final games last decade. Also don't worry I'm the only person in the world who believes. So don't worry if you think more people believe this.

I think one thing that hasnt been mentioned so far was the terrible accident that happened to their recruitment head Daniel Anderson. This would have benn quite a shock to those at the club and probably weighed on their minds during pre season prep. Given questions around their recruitment this would be an interesting story to follow through.

I think, having played the game for 8 years from 1979 to 1987, that Teddy should play at 5/8th now in his career. He has all the skills to play in that position, at his age (28) and experience, and the team can blood a new young fullback. The man has at least another 6/7 years left in his legs and He would make a good transition into 5/8th in my humble opinion. Cheers. Johno

Yeah, nah. I'm a chooks supporter myself, and I can tell you right now, a lot of us who stay loyal to the club are not happy with Teddy's performance this year, and are holding him accountable, on the basis that he's the captain of the team and hasn't delivered all year; his best game was against the Bulldogs where we won by one single point, and any other year, that would've been an average game at best, disappointing at worst.
NSW supporters want him dropped in favour of Dylan Edwards
No one’s saying nothing is his fault. He’s had a horrible season and origin wasn’t much better. Had he not had a legendary career up to this point he wouldn’t have even made origin game 1. But there are other players on that field. If the chooks can’t survive one game without a player they should all be replaced because they’re not doing their job.

This roster needs a complete rebuild . Smith has been a bad buy . Collins has been one of the few shining lights . The team looks lost and lacks direction and a huge change in player roster is needed .

Couldn’t agree more. It wasn’t a game against the Tigers or the Dogs it was Melbourne in the SCG. For him to not even been at the venue with his team mates. He could have been there in the dressing room, having a word with Manu having a chat with Brandon smith. Cleary was out injured for 7 weeks and he was in the box with the coaches for EVERY game.

David Riccio is off his head... he has a habit of dropping players who only need a bit of support to kick... resting players is ridiculous... the rest of the team, especially in the backs played out of position.... Brandon Smith is a compulsive gambler who owes the whole team.... that hasn't helped.... he seems happier with the Storm boys... Verrels was a much better option.... Sam Walker was being ran over for fun and they were doing shocking something needed to change he choose to put faith in keary who is a 2x premiership winner . Brandon smith is a issue atm also the fact a work cup winning second rower hasn’t been there most of the year . Along with sitili and Watson . There forward pack is the main issue there’s been no go forward Hargreaves is a bench forward at best now and we’ve had no leg drive in our middles robbo identified this and we have leinu coming

His tackling was an ongoing problem, but it’s not one that the Roosters weren’t willing to carry for his previous 50 NRL appearances and for what it’s worth, Walker had the fourth-best tackle efficiency of any NRL halfback to have played five games in 2023 and was fifth-best for line break causes. On numbers at least, that side of his game has improved massively.Walker runs with the best of them, has made the third-most line breaks per game played and in terms of breaks created, he’s around the level of Lachlan Ilias, Matt Burton and Daly Cherry-Evans. It’s not as if he was stinking the place out.
The replacement for Walker in the halves, Joey Manu, looked promising in fits and starts during the Anzac Day fixture, but had struggled badly in the two games since, with the team lacking creativity.
Manu is both a freak and a magician, the best of Suaalii and Walker combined, but he's clearly not a half. In the here and now, he’s not a better playmaker than Walker. My question to Robbo is why drop Walker when the stats showed he was improving each game? And I think it's quite obvious he didn't have a playmaking half to replace him..... and he then shuffled the backs into positions they were unfamiliar with. I don't care if he's won a million premierships, he's human and can make mistakes. He made a doozy... my opinion....

Sam Walker was dropped because he lacked direction and roosters were struggling there needed to be a change Sam and keary are very similar players in the way they play robbo put he’s faith in keary as would any coach as for Joey manu in previous years when he filled in at 5/8 he was roosters best most times so it was a logical choice why didn’t it work again our forward pack isn’t bending the line back to create space and time . If Sam plays results are the same if not worse this year but the halves are not at fault .
