The motor on my Flymo Speedi-Mo 360C sounds great, but I tried cutting the grass in 32 degrees heat today and it keeps cutting out after a few minutes. I cleaned all the vents which were clogged up, but it still stops after a couple of minutes. Praying it will work okay when the weather cools down a bit.
Hi Ben, most domestic appliances are fitted with a thermal cut out to prevent the devices, sadly we don’t always have 32 deg sunny days so strongly recommend you resume gardening tomorrow, preferably before the predicted Thunder & Lightning ⚡️ Regards.
Does anyone know the symptoms of a bad capacitor? Flymo venturer 350 turbo, when power is applied it randomly either stutters the motor and keeps stuttering with the button pressed or it starts and runs absolutely fine. the 16uf capacitor measures as 15uf and is open loop, so I think it could be fine. This is with no load, the motor is removed and on the bench.
Hi First Man, sounds via you description that the Carbon Brushes inside of the Motor are low and require replacement. Maybe take them out and inspect. Regards 😀.
Shows your lack of knowledge in regards to the electric motor Mr Lawrence. The gentleman clearly demonstrated the unit was dead from the outset, but unsuccessfully tried to resolve.
@@fleecingtiger2584 weather the motor is toast or not is irrelevant. you do not clean a commutator with anything abrasive let alone a wire brush . I have 50 years as an electrical engineer under my belt . What's your excuse ?

Excellent video Thank You !!!!!!!!!
Thanks Kevin 😀.
Very helpful, thank you.
Glad it was helpful! Thanks Dipseadiver
Seems like the rotor is partially shorted, seeing all the sparks flying around the commutator. Not sure it's worth it, if you can source parts
Thanks Radio,
yes not cost effective so brought a second unit instead 😀

Thanks Karen,
its coming up to that time of the year when these are dragged out of the Shed.
and no longer works
never go near a commutator with a wire brush .god knows how much damage you did there no wonder it didnt work
