Dude, that install. I'm... 40% sure itbricked my Omen haha. Even when I downloaded with XBOX Game Pass. Went straight into bootloop once it installed a second(!?) installer to download more? So I might have to skip it for this machine...sorry...lol
Yes. I'd say it's in the tier right above the Acer Nitro. but, for what it's worth, the Nitro is probably the best pure budget laptop out right now. At least one of them.
If I had to choose one, it'd definitely be the Legion 7i. But they're in different price ranges, Omen was $200-300 cheaper for me. My nitpicks in my last video on the 7i were pretty small, considering. I just was rubbed the wrong way by Lenovo as a company.
Good question: we've all been waiting for the official word. Latest news is a company in the UK said they were releasing it September 30th. But it's been moved back a few times :/
A bit off topic, but do you think paying more for an RTX 2060 would be worth it? People say its ray-tracing capabilities are limited, yet with the next-gen consoles supporting ray-tracing I think most games will have it from now on. I don't switch laptops often so it's important to be decent for 3-4 years and I'm stumped
No man, totally on topic. I'm a big fan of DLSS 2.0, so I think it's worth it to wait for the 2060 if that is something you're interested in. I think it'll be huge too. I first played it on Deliver Us to the Moon. Was getting 45fps on ultra. Then I switched it on and was getting 70fps on ultra. It's the real deal. If you want your laptop to last I'd definitely get at least a 2060.
Yessir! My 7i video shows the cooling is fantastic. It's only the 8core i7 processor that has a little trouble cooling. Most of the time while gaming, my CPU rarely went above 80 and the GPU rarely went over 70-75
HP advertises a graphic switcher option in the omen command center in this laptop which is described almost the same as disabling optimus but I've heard this laptop doesn't have the option to disable optimus. Can you check it out? Thanks!
non recording benchmarks.....need only values, as recording drops 5 to 7 fps.... can u use the maximum setting and fans? so that I can compare this with the last year 1660ti helios....
Partially. I will speak on the design. The deck is a metal chassis (which is very sharp in the corners actually) and the top is all plastic with some flex.
@tech revue why did you delete your video? To be honest I didn’t find any mistakes with it
Lol sorry, I realized Adobe Premiere only rendered it in 720p for some reason. Just exporting it in 1080p like I was trying to do!
Tech Revue Ok that’s fine, will still be the first view/comment 😀
Should be up in 35ish minutes!
I was wondering what happened 😉
😭 my subscribers are too much
Check for the screen flex and if it is durable.
I would like to see mkcrosoft flight sim on it?

Better than the Acer Nitro 5 2020?

Tech Revue Thanks mate!
G sync?
Does it have thunderbolt 3?
How is battery life?
No thunderbolt unfortunately, as it is the AMD option. And yes, I will report on battery!
Which one would you recommend? Omen or the Legion 7i?

Is this amd model also available with rtx 2060?

Hey 👋 just wanted to ask, were the temperatures good on the 7i without the vapor chamber????

how much battery if you disable GPU and just use integrated for web browsing/UA-cam at 50% brightness vs. letting win10 choose the graphics processor
Nice shots! What gear are you using to catch those?
Hey man, thanks! And I'm using a Panasonic Lumix GX85, with a 25mm 1.7 prime lens

If you add a second NVMe, does the performance go down vs. a single drive?
I'm anxious to see what you think of this one? 😉 I'm intrigued by the Ryzen variant of the Omen 👍
is it fully metal or partially?
Partially. I will speak on the design. The deck is a metal chassis (which is very sharp in the corners actually) and the top is all plastic with some flex.
