    Words cannot describe how happy I get when I watch skincare videos like this, it's like a little peek into someone's bathroom and somehow feels very personal. Matilda narrating it is a nice little cherry on top. That being said, Hello Cosrx, my long-time friend and newbies! Thank you for the wonderful content as always, Matilda, and have a lovely week.

    I have oily skin, but us oily gals also need hydration. K Beauty products are the BEST when it comes to providing gentle hydration that won't break us out. It's interesting to see how they work for people of all skin types. I've used the snail mucin too and absolutely loved it! currently using Haruharu wonder as a sunscreen. Brilliantly moisturizing and effective against the sun at the same time.

    So so SO happy to see some cosrx snail mucin in here!! I’ve been using it as long as I’ve watched your channel (2017/2018😱😱). It SAVED my skin while I was on Accutane and because of my acne journey I’m an absolute skincare nut! I have separate routines for morning, makeup prep, after makeup care, after sun care, and night-a bit extensive I know😂 I would love to see you try some other Korean brands like Numbuzin or Round Lab!!

    I know this is a old video, but I love these kind of videos, I tend to double up on products night and day but I find I run out faster. I tend to wash my face with water in the morning then splash Clarins yellow toner, Charlotte Tilbury eye cream and plant gold by Clarins. Of a night time cleanse, tone, eye cream and Clarins beauty flash as a mask that I sleep in. Fairly simple routine 😊

    We’ve got a few shared items in our routine: the Avene Thermal Water, the Cosrx All in One Cream, and the Skin Fix Triple Lipid Peptide Cream!
    I would say the pillars of my routine are tretinoin, sunscreen, anti-oxidants and lots of fragrance free hydration! A new product in my routine lately has been the Calm + Restore Triple Oat Serum from Aveeno- a soothing serum to help support my skin barrier. :)

    My reliable picks that I stockpile backups of during sales are : Jordan Samuel cleansers, belif moisturisters, Dr Jart ceramidin cream and liquid, The Body Shop hemp face protector (the best thing ever for under eye eczema), Drunk elephant vitamin c serum and the ultraviolette sunscreen with the yellow lid like you (thanks for that upgrade recommendation from the Mecca sunscreen!). As a surfer and ocean swimmer, I also always have the La Roche Posay anthelios sunscreen you have to shake and the Hunter Labs zinc based sunscreen for outdoor activities. I’ve yet to find a retinol or acid exfoliant that I keep coming back to but I wouldn’t ever be without those products listed above!

    • @matildaonvideo
      @matildaonvideo  Рік тому +1

      Of course, ask away! I always like to apply products on damp skin because it helps them absorb better, but my initial face wash with cold water helps me wake up so it's a really thorough splash 😂 My skin would be too wet to apply products right after that, so I pat my face dry then go in with a separate mist for a finer damp finish x

    Another beautiful video!
    A question: do you use any actives? Given how dedicated you are to skincare and makeup that highlights perfect skin, I've always been surprised not to see retinols, AHAs, or VitC in your routine, and wondered if you do use them but steer away from talking about them since you're not a dermatologist? Or do you really not use any at all?

    • @matildaonvideo
      @matildaonvideo  Рік тому

      Thank you! Not a lot to report in the actives area other than AHAs - I used to exfoliate once or twice a week with Go-To's Exfoliating Swipeys (shown in previous Skincare Favourites videos), and now the OSEA Ocean Cleanser I'm using has lactic acid in it, so that's enough for me a few nights a week. I haven't started using retinol at all yet and I've only used a few vitamin C serums in previous years, but they often upset my skin barrier despite being careful with gentle formulas so I stopped. Focusing on hydration, skin barrier support and gentle exfoliation is just what my skin responds best to at this stage (it's definitely not 'perfect skin', but that's not a realistic thing for any of us to strive for! Looking and feeling happy and confident in yourself sounds good to me, whatever skin phase you're in) ☺️👍 x

    Matilda, I wonder if you would like the coco kind ceramide barrier serum. I started using it a year and a half ish ago and it’s been a skincare MUST ever since. It really helps with dry skin and random sensitivity flare ups, just keeps my skin happy really. I’ll have to try that glossier moisturizer in the winter. My usual elf cream is too light for winter and something about the texture of the coco kind resurrection cream makes my skin crawl, even if I really like the rest of the brand😂

    For anyone dealing with texture try benzoyl peroxide products !! It has seriously helped me smooth my skin; I’m oily to normal combo skin for reference. Before using a face wash( Panoxyl) I had a spot treatment for years and it’s just the thing to help fade pesky pimples.Similar to niacinamide start with lower concentrations because it can be irritating and take caution if you have sensitive skin.

    Skincaare ❤! I love this skincare videos. Currently I am in a crystal retinal mood. Just restarted with the retinal from medik8 in the last couple of months ( I am taking it sloow) but already seeing the improve tone of the skin. During retinal time I have to up my hydration and barrier game , so i finished a bottle of centella ampoule from skin1004. Their toner is still going strong. It's my favorite essence step, before moisturizer. I'm alternating between my old time favourite ( just repurchased) cosrx snail mucin one, and a new discovery the centella soothing moisturizer line from skin1004. Lately, i've made the step to add some oil in the evening moisturizer, it's the wild carrot one from odacite. Such a splurge but soo nice. I love the smell and the texture and the gentle hydration. I'm also trying out the newer liquid ultra violette sunscreen, the one that comes in a tiny bottle like package. So far I love it. For the winter though, i'll probably go back to my beauty of joseon or purito daily touch, they are bit more cushiony on the skin

I'm so glad your channel exists it helped me find my own style of makeup and opened me up to so many new and amazing brands & products. Like you, I'm also a fan of COSRX and I was wondering if you've also tried their overnight ultimate nourishing rice spa mask, the hyaluronic acid intensive cream, the aloe soothing sun cream SPF50 and their one-step original clear pads? I've wanted to try their vitamin E vitalising sunscreen SPF50 too (but haven't yet).
    As for new product recommendations I've been quite enjoying the Instree hyaluronic acid watery sun gel SPF50, Ouai shampoo & conditioner followed by the Shiseido Fino premium touch hair mask (definitely recommend trying that one) and finish with karastase hair oil, Frank Bodyscrub, the Aloe BHA skin toner of Benton, La Roche-Posay anthelios uvmune 400 50+ invisible fluid sunscreen and the ordinary glycolic acid 7% toning solution.
    Do you maybe have some recommendations for brow and lash oils for growth and nourishment?

    Ohh would absolutely love to hear your more in depth thoughts on the Omnilux mask! I’ve been watching you since your Megan markle makeup bag video so super cool to see different the products in your routine through the years!!

      Wow, thank you for being here since the verrry early days Jennifer! 😄 Happy to answer any questions you might have about the Omnilux mask (although for anything technical, I'd highly recommend an expert like @hannahcollingwoodenglish's content on Instagram! She's a pharmaceutical scientist and fantastic skincare creator who has posted helpful LED mask info in the past) x

    I've heard great things about the snal stuff and want to try the snail stuff but I can't get past the ick factor!

      I know some people can’t get past that, but I find the lack of any scent really helps! So it just feels and looks like any other clear essence or serum in your bathroom ☺️👍 x
