@Alunya Its definition is a palm muted sound from a guitar with it's midrange up, but just like obscure genre names like shoegaze, djent has become a genre in it's own way. It's a way of connecting metal bands that make use of a more technical and progressive sound. I guess one could just call it progressive metalcore and leave it at that, but it's a misnomer one can live with. ^^
@MrLaFineFleur I deal with it, and it is one good deal. On topic, these guys are amazing. One of the best metal bands to grace my ears recently. The vocals are brutal.
@Rahrhino Yup, something like that. Vild-yerta would be more correct, for some reason they don't have it as a swedish word (would be Vild Hjärta or Vildhjärta, meaning "Wild Heart or Wildheart)
@skyeatsbrennan best would be combination, because djent songs sometimes have long breath and don't have that aggressive speed through the whole song, only in parts; but check out volumes, they are a bit in this direction
@BlackHeartGraffiti Best i could find was that they just signed with Century Media to produce their album. Still no idea about when it will get released or anything.
@neonlightz1 : its technically a genre referring to the common sound correlated with the guitar. let me try and text how this song starts .............. DJENT...DJENT....DJENT.....DJENT-DJENT-DJENT-DJENT-DJENT-DJENT ... lol
@theforkisonthetable Really? Escape The Fate and Norma Jean are doing pretty good. Slipknot and Korn are still huge. Whitechapel, Carnifex, Born Of Osiris, Attila, and many more are doing good. No one is getting booted. It's just the fact that a new style is approaching and people are loving it.
@defkorn8893 Yah thats very true, I have my sub volume like half way up and their is like nothing..haha Hopefully they will rerecord this tune and shiver for the next album!
@Kiryu394 Wrong... It's a 4 note power-chord. Check your sources. Search "Misha Mansoor talks about djent"... It's from the misha mansoor/marc okubo interview. If you're playing in the genre you should be aware, just saying.
Love that ending!
wow this has like no bottom end
The end is beyond........well....just beyond words.
Love this band. Just wish they would come out with a full length album.
I love that this song is about Meteor, the highwind, and Aerith's Holy magic.
looking forward to their album, hope it's gonna be out soon.
I love this awesome DJENT! thumbs up!!!!
Thall
Well im excited to interview them...
These guys are badass, you deal with that.
How could you have answered that question anymore perfectly.. I don't think you could have.
Thank you Sweden.
HOLY SHIIT :O THIS IS REAL MUSIC RIGHT THERE :O
I need their album.
Greatest fan of the band: Yurnero...:D
i need songs from this band now 0_0
EPIC METAL BAND!!!!
that intro riff is just un describable
this song is sooo unique!! kinda modern digital djent or something!
@neonlightz1 started by the band Meshuggah, a genre of metal, based on a special technique used on guitar
This intro (before the vox come in) is spanktastic to say the least.
This song was recorded as a demo because Vildhjarta plays it live. It was made for fun in about 2 days.
@neonlightz1 It's basically in reference to the heavily distorted tones of the guitars.
@Alunya Its definition is a palm muted sound from a guitar with it's midrange up, but just like obscure genre names like shoegaze, djent has become a genre in it's own way. @neonlightz1 Its onomatapeia for a guitar tone. But its of a movement now, rather than a specific tone. And buld from Periphery was a pioneer of it.
That intro is almost as good as Totala Mad
Epic intro
@MrLaFineFleur I deal with it, and it is one good deal.
On topic, these guys are amazing. One of the best metal bands to grace my ears recently. The vocals are brutal.
Vildjenta!
Am I the only one who listened to this song and heard many many parts that sounded like riffs from Fellsilent's "Immerse"?
logarithmic guitar riffs ftw
@AIJos1 It means Wild Heart
This band's name means "Wildheart" in Swedish.
@CombatWombat1995
Meshuggah was the pioneer in 1987.
@Boristhaspydr Swedish Fish is awesome! them Swedes should contiinue making this magic
Treble.
still their best song. m//
i wish this and shiver made it on to masstaden... traces sound so amazing i can only imagine what this would be like
DJIZZ DJIZZ DJIZZZ.... i need a tissue for my djissue.
@neonlightz1 the sound from the guitar
@Rahrhino
Yup, something like that. Vild-yerta would be more correct, for some reason they don't have it as a swedish word (would be Vild Hjärta or Vildhjärta, meaning "Wild Heart or Wildheart)
@neonlightz1 It's an onomatopoeia for the specific sound produced with the palm muted riffs. See DeadEyeSprout's comment below.
@skyeatsbrennan best would be combination, because djent songs sometimes have long breath and don't have that aggressive speed through the whole song, only in parts; but check out volumes, they are a bit in this direction
vildhjarta have quite a unique tone its weird but i like it
I fucking LOVE this band. When's their cd actually going to come out? The ending is FUUUUUCKING brutal!
@PLAZ1990s .....thats the f'in point...
@BlackHeartGraffiti Best i could find was that they just signed with Century Media to produce their album. Still no idea about when it will get released or anything.
@neonlightz1 : its technically a genre referring to the common sound correlated with the guitar. let me try and text how this song starts .............. DJENT...DJENT....DJENT.....DJENT-DJENT-DJENT-DJENT-DJENT-DJENT ... lol
Fighting Ruby Weapon as I listen to this \m/
the screaming isnt as strong as i would like it to be but this band is still pretty awesome. cleans r spot on
@Hheawy Agreed sir
@spectralwords I like it
vilDJENTa moar liek!!!!!1one!!
@Nevecus
my fault, that's correct.
@kreepmaster 3:34 to 4:05 you can clearly hear the bass
any know how they get there tone, it sounds like it has a lot of gain in it and what amp do they use
@theforkisonthetable
Really? Escape The Fate and Norma Jean are doing pretty good. Slipknot and Korn are still huge. Whitechapel, Carnifex, Born Of Osiris, Attila, and many more are doing good. No one is getting booted. It's just the fact that a new style is approaching and people are loving it.
@rickcristo
No, it is pronounced more like Veeld-yarta. Shorten the long E-noise and soften up both the R and the T and you got it about right.
needs more cow bell :D
@EHJFO welcome to the world of Djent, my friend.
@EcuadorFreak I go for a more Periphery/Keith Merrow-style djenty sound, so that could be it.
Why oh why is there nothing for download? :( I want mp3's!!
@Shaidon66 What have they come out with? I've only just discovered these and they're fucking awesome! I cant seem to find much around the net?
even though periphery's music may not be new, the singing definitely is lol. calm down guys
@kcutdxela Better tone?!
Their tone is insane, don't hear anyone else giving off that sound.
@defkorn8893 Yah thats very true, I have my sub volume like half way up and their is like nothing..haha Hopefully they will rerecord this tune and shiver for the next album!
@CyValkarion where can I buy a cd?! I'll go get it tomorrow!!! :D
winrar
wish they're touring with periphery
i love this shit
just wish the recording quality was better :(
So... when is the album supposed to hit!?!?
@Tibberclaw Where did you find that?
Then you should download some on their myspace. 2 songs including this one, need a .rar decompress software
@kcutdxela thats an opinion
@scarbotr Well, at least you know what you're talking about. I'm fairly sure actual chord progressions aren't really Vildhjarta's job anyway, lol.
sounds abit like Immerse by Fellsilent
Meshuggah + Sybreed = Vildhjarta
@spectralwords what is thall?
Thall
@THEMA1LMAN i think it's pronounced vild-harta
@Kiryu394 Wrong... It's a 4 note power-chord. Check your sources. Search "Misha Mansoor talks about djent"... It's from the misha mansoor/marc okubo interview. If you're playing in the genre you should be aware, just saying.
@AIJos1 easily the best comment i've ever read!
@PINQINQ what are you totla mad? yeah it is
@iAmTheYan what doesn't thall stand for?
@SPYYOPS Yeah but you know what I mean lo
@defkorn8893 That's always bothered me with the Omnislash songs on youtube. haha.
djent djent djent!!!
hell yea djent!
@AIJos1
i feel the didgeridoo is lacking in this song also
The guitars sound kinda wispy. It feels like their sound is totally gutted and hollow. Is that how it was recorded or is there some conversion issue?
@iAmTheYan ....You have to use - Doesdjen`t :D
@CaptainPie5 I believe more vild-yarta. I''m pretty sure the 'j's are pronounced as 'y's
Djent!
Meshuggah is strong in this one
@metalpunkx666 i think youre onto something man, Opeth, Meshuggah, Vildhjarta. maybe its something in Swedish Fish??
ha btw how do you pronounce the bands name??
@kirbz01 - I don't understand. Are you just being 'poetic'? What are 'logarithmic' riffs?
@dekdcd thall is thall dude
@CelestialObscurity
I find that good comparison. OK, maybe instead of Sybreed shoulda've put Synthetic Breed.
If they had better tone, this band would be unstoppable.
what does djent stand for?
