I love, love, love this song. I was in middle school when it came out and all those feelings of the angst of youth.
Must’ve been a cool time. I was born in 92 so I was just a kid but can remember jamming out to this in the backseat and I remember drinking some type of strawberry flavored slushy when I first heard this and put the two together because of the ‘strawberry fields” lyric. ❤️ What’s crazy is that now at 27, the younger generation wishes to live in the 2000’s era that we lived when our generation wanted to love during yours. Haha!
Is it just me, or does it seem the mid 1990s seem longer ago than the mid 1980s? Weird.

I think part of it is because that 80's sound in music came back around, lots of bands using synths etc. but stuff that was popular in the 90's (across all genres I'd say) hasn't really made a comeback.
You are NOT wrong on that. I'm an 80's kid though so maybe I'm just partial to it.
When they played this on mtv springbreak 1996 in the rain 🌧 one of the best live performances ever. Since he could have been killed from the lightning. You have to check it out.

He is gorgeous with a one of a kind voice. His version of Wild Horses is amazing. Gavin Rossdale singing Wild Horses or Landslide so good.
My favorite Bush song is "Comedown." ("I don't wanna come back down from this cloud. It's taken me all this time to find out what I need.") It reminds me of the Rolling Stones song: "Hey, you, get off of my cloud! Don't hang around, 'cuz 2's a crowd." It's like, let me enjoy being on cloud 9 for a while longer before I have to return to earth and face reality.

I'm not sure if he's referring to The Beatles song by that name or the somber place in New York City's Central Park in memorial of John Lennon. The original song was written about a childrens home in Liverpool, England.

Hello India, my wife and I have been loyal subscribers for almost 2 years now. We love the videos and have watched many. This is one of her favorite songs ever. In February I bought tickets to see our favorite band, Breaking Benjamin in August. Bush was also going to be there, which made her day, night, and year. She was hoping to hear Glycerin live. Sadly, we will not be able to see them this year due to the cancellation.
Seeing as you reacted to the song already, coukd you react to something from Breaking Benjamin. Any song of theirs is good. For me though, anything but Blow Me Away - good song, but its not one of my favorites. She would really love to see Ashes of Eden, The Dark of You, or I Will Not Bow.

Glycerine is a chemical used in perfumes and medicines and also to preserve food. The title comes from the explosive applications of glycerine to stabilize nitro. Rossdale said the song was about how love was like a bomb.

A lot of people tagged Bush as one of those Grunge wannabe bands. Sixteen Stone was a pretty great album. Everything Zen is a really good Bush song.
It's interesting because NITROglycerine is the explosive, whereas glycerine by itself is a sweet-tasting non-toxic substance sometimes used to sweeten liquid medicines.
Random fact; Bush was originally called Bush X in Canada to avoid lawsuit from a Seventies band. They eventually made a deal to get the name in Canada. "Truth is a three edged sword, your side, my side, and the truth." Ambassador Kosh.

Man, Gavin was beautiful. I had the biggest crush on him when I was 10.
I think he wrote the song about his girlfriend at time, someone else who was famous at the time I think. He said that being with her was easy, but because of their tour and celebrity status meant they rarely ever saw each other and he couldn't do the long distance thing anymore. I think right after this is where he met Gwen Stefani too
I bet Gavin Rossdale never had any problems with the ladies. By the way I know he was married to Gwen Stefani.

Clicked on this because after a zillion listens, I still have no idea what this song is about. Occasionally I will ask my husband, "do you know what this song is about yet?" To which he replies "nope." Our best guess is the relationship is explosive.
