      @@leacv6332try to look for synonyms and if you can’t come up with some right away, explain the word you’re searching for, so instead of summing up the idea in one word, describe it. For example if you were to say a pen fell from your hand and can’t quite find the words, you can describe the scene, paint the picture.
      For example, you had this pen on your hand and suddenly it slipped away or started sliding and you couldn’t catch it and so it ended up on the floor. Or say it was in my hand however, it suddenly came down and ended up at the floor.
      In conclusion what I mean is, don’t get fixated on looking for a certain word, rather try to be ready to explain it the way you’re thinking about it, even if it’s not as clear. It’s better to throw away being brief or succinct in your speech than throw away being clear.
      I’m not sure I’m making as much sense through words as I am in my head, but I hope you get my point

The Cambridge looks so nice and not so difficult, honesty. But when I see mine, it's way more different and hard to complete. To be clear, I'm not saying Cambridge level isn't good, of course you need to practice and study a lot, but somehow it is easier than mine. @@cambridgeenglishtv Hi! Related to the topic, I am Uruguayan, and I have been taking private English lessons since the age of 19. I have made progress and am currently preparing for the CPE. One observation I have consistently made since the beginning is that in videos of this nature, a male and a female are often paired together, with the female exhibiting better performance in approximately 99% of cases. It gives me the impression, based on my interactions with other individuals where I do not observe significant differences in vocabulary, that the challenge lies in the fact that, as less communicative beings, men tend to be disadvantaged in such assessments. This is not due to inferior speaking skills but rather because females tend to engage in more verbal communication, creating a dynamic that ultimately favors them. Perhaps a viable solution would be to conduct assessments whenever possible with individuals of the same gender, as this could lead to a fairer evaluation, allowing both parties to be in a more composed emotional state. This suggestion is offered solely based on intuition, as I am not a psychologist, sociologist, or affiliated with any relevant field.

    Some say that they can use a large amount of vocabulary. However, I can’t help it and just think they’ve got a bit limited repertoire. I don’t see them using expressions that could help them be granted with a higher grade. And I tend to hear the word “rare” repeated. General verbs like “doing”. The verb “think”, as well, is repeated too much. I think ... I think... and I think, again. If you have a C2 level, you know how to use higher level synonyms to express more precise opinions, or else to convey the same idea differently.

      There's a fine line between having a normal conversation (like people do) and desperately "throwing up" your whole repertoire just for vocabulary's sake or just for the heck of it (which would also make your whole speech sound so much unnatural to say the least). Bottom line: just go with the flow and try to be as fluent and clear as you can. In other words, don't try to impress (as if you were in a circus) just talk randomly like an actual native speaker would do in real life.

    • @ElberethOhGilthoniel

      Spitting out fancy words is not something I do I my native language so why should I have to do it while speaking another? Some people simply don't have a large vocabulary,it hardly means they cannot communicate properly. Also,unless you have actually taken lessons by a tutor,you won't know what to study to broaden your word repertoire as you call it.

    Their English is pretty good. I could notice small small problems with prepositions. I wish they had a C3 level exam for people with the highest ability. These test takers are a little bit below the level of some people I know and it’s unfair to put them all in the same category.

    • @miguelrangel6041
      @miguelrangel6041 Рік тому +2

      For each level, there are some sort of grades, if, by any chance they meet the criteria but are not as fluent as some people are, as you quoted, they might get a C2 grade C, which is weak C2. As oppose to getting C2 grade A which is strong C2 (your C3 idea)

    • @serendipitized
      @serendipitized Рік тому +3

      There are different grades, but I don't think it's fair to judge these people based off this one video. It's an exam as well, so they must be more nervous than usual. They overall did very good and it all depends on practice. There isn't just one form of a person that acquires a cambridge C2 certificate. There are plenty of different people with different accents, ways of writing and interpreting. So i disagree.
