I got chills when he started isolating the high, low, mid and vocal tracks on the fly. This is an amazing purchase for anyone that wants to produce but feels like softwares are confusing. This changes it to a DJ muscle memory style of mastery and makes it a cheaper option.
It's not on the fly when you need a pc for it
This thing doesn’t deserve praise. It’s an overpriced toy used to isolate certain sections of a track. It is NOT useful for someone wanting to produce, especially when there are better alternatives out there.

I thought it was a huge gimmick but I actually kinda want one for parties 😂
I think Kanye's production makes it truly distinct to split the several aspects of a song. And his bass is so good, on the device, it can be played with in several styles. I think this is the special thing with an actual artiste with production knowledge collaborating with a developer to make a gadget. It is small but powerful.
well there’s tons of Plug-ins that work directly through DAWs that work much better. This is cool but it kind of just looks like a toy
@@EddieFreak like what. I'm interested in manipulating songs like this but lack the knowledge and time to go deep into main music production kits. Any recs?

@uncle T look at koala sampler on ios
I mean it's a pretty cool novelty - and very convenient and unique way to tweak songs as you listen to them. He is smart for capitalizing on this and putting it into a sleak design - but this could actually be done long before this device came out. You can take any multitrack sampler and load stems onto it. You could also use many services that have been around for quite a while using ai to separate stems. I like to remix songs for fun and I bought neural mix pro. It's 50 bucks but worth it. I can take any track and split and put it on to a multitrack sampler. Nonetheless this device is cool but just FYI the technology has already been around for a while and it's nearly maxed out its potential when it comes to using ai separating already mixed/mastered songs. I'm surprised there wasn't already a phone app that could do this (separate the stems and let you play them back and tweak them in real time), and you could save yourself a lot of money and hassle having to buy this and upload all your songs through their website
Damn I remember seeing a video of Kanye with an app on his phone that did this.. It's crazy how he developed it into a physical product 🔥

@@robbiebrumby2212 lol. Dude I’m not talking about any music used in this. Reference my linked timecode.
this could help producers and artists so much. if a producer is making beats they are able to isolate the instrumentals from songs, taking inspiration from it and making their own beats or loops from it. this could help an artist find their own original sound because they can isolate vocals as well as the instrumentals which will create a starting point from which they jump from

To cut the vocals so clearly and easily is actually god tier.
Unfortunately it doesn't work with every song because it is impossible to have the AI split a song as perfect as if hasn't been already split from the artist.

Goodlookingout for the video, we might get it lil later in 🇿🇦 but i look forward to this thing, i must b honest, it was an almost 25 year wait for it, i remember when "been there, done that" was released by Dr. Dre, i copped the CD but i really wanted the instrumental of tht song, with this, I'd just go straight to it on my stem player, well done Ye West, no genre looks after it supporter base more than Hip Hop🙏🏽

I know alot of people who listen to songs just because of the beat so this is very creative and innovative for sure...great idea 💡
This is DOPE!! I want one of those!
Wow amazing! I wish this was available when I played the piano. There were so many songs I had to listen to over and over on a cd to get the exact instrumentation. This would have helped me alot.
The softwares and DAWs have existed for over a decade but ok
@@chrisjfox8715 honey I was playing piano in the early 2000s late 90s. I was a broke college student. The software was crazy expensive and only available on a pc which had to meet their software requirements but okay.
@@Moniq20 back then sure. I'm not knocking your history. My main point is essentially that people are literally claiming and acting like Kanye invented this tech and is allowing you to do something with his music that no other musician is allowing you to do, which simply is not the case. It's great marketing for him to release his album this way, but let's not act like the past decade plus of thousands of remixes weren't made possible by the softwares and DAWs that have been fully capable of doing exactly this - stem extraction.
@@chrisjfox8715 he created a physical version which is convient and afforable. Im not sure if you play an instrument or not, but something like this can help you learn songs faster.
@@Moniq20 no i don't play an instrument. I recognize that the portability is convenient. I'm not knocking the utility of it. I'm commenting on the running theme in comment sections from people that seem to believe that this couldn't be done *at all* until Kanye "came up with it" as if stem extraction and the ability to remix songs without the raw files wasn't already a thing.
The portability and price makes it fun but the concept is not nearly as novel as people are making it out to be. There's phone/tablet apps that have done the same for some years now. People can most definitely feel like this is easier to use, but it's people's actual literal ignorance of the long-existing tech that I'm speaking to..not their excitement for having one. If you as a musician have a use case for it on the go then have at it.
Personally, I would rather have the level of control and workflow flexibility (i.e., revision control, importing/exporting integration, etc) of making remixes on a PC. Not saying things have to be as complicated as Ableton...but having a dedicated device with such limited inputs just feels too confined to me. I wouldn't buy this for pretty much the same reason I wouldn't buy an mp3 player with no screen in 2022.
i love how into this Stephen is. great, detailed review! thank you!
