What I take away from this is what a thoughtful husband you have. You work hard in the house with the kids and he recognizes your efforts!
A good marriage!
Aw thank you!
I was just thinking that too, Last night I re-watched the wedding episode and the “meet my husband” such a beautiful couple
said Chee-a, like the pets! Ch-ch-chia!!
Glad to hear Mr. Firefly brought you a special treat. You deserve it. You work so hard to take care of your family. Continued prayers.
Thank you kindly!
Shavua Tov Chana! I love hearing Baby Firefly joining the conversation. So cute! 😅
Such a nice healthy day of meals. I’m definitely trying some of those recipes.
Be well, and saying Tehilim daily for the IDF and shalom al Yisroel.
Be well❤
❤️❤️❤️
Enjoyed the video. Prayers continue. Have a great week and a blessed Shabbat.
Love all the happy children noises.
❤️❤️❤️
It’s so funny, ❤it’s as if you are part of our family. My Husband walks by and says “ Oh it’s Your Jar of Fireflies Girl “ 😂❤ Thank you for sharing! Much Love to your Family!
I love it! Lol
I am very grateful for your channel. I continue to pray for your family specifically and the entire Jewish community. I hope that you feel the presence of God’s comfort and strength.
Thank you ❤️
I just wanted to say thank you so much for making these videos. As a Jewish woman who has decided to live the Orthodox your videos are extremely helpful. I watch you everyday!! Shalom my sister. Thank you. My your family be safe and have a safe and wonderful weekend. Shabbat Shalom
I’m so happy they are helpful!!! ❤️❤️❤️ a thanks for watching! Kol hakavod for your growth!
@@jaroffireflies I appreciate you responding! This means so much. How was your Shabbat?
@@thejelloprogram shabbat was really lovely :) How was yours?
@@jaroffireflies it was great. Do you already have your menu planned for Hanukkah?
@@thejelloprogram so happy to hear! I have nothing planned for Hanukkah yet 😂 but we usually do fish and chips one night with friends 😁
We have a very simple air fryer with a basket. My husband cooks about 10 hard boiled eggs at a time. It takes 15 min at 250°. No water. Then cool in cold water for easy peeling. He peels them all and puts them in a container in the refrigerator.
Wow, great idea. I love my air fryer. I didn’t know I could hard boil eggs. Thanks for that🥚🥚🥚
Very cool!
Chana, you give me so much peace.
I'm currently struggling with anxiety and depression but whenever I watch your videos, I calm down and feel happy and safe.
Thank you for everything 🤍
Hi Chana, it's the little things that make us so happy! You were so cute with your burger! Keeping you and your family in my prayers.
Thank you so much 🤗
Can you do a week of kosher dinners? That would be a good video to watch. Thanks
Oh great suggestion thanks! It’s been a while since I’ve done one of those ❤️
So glad to see you again! And hear all the wonderful children sounds around you. How I continue to pray for you, your family, your community, your people. May you feel the strength and comfort of God.
Thank you so much!
I love the "what you eat in a day" videos. This morning I had eggs, a protein pancake, and hash browns. For lunch I have leftover lentil soup and an apple... I think I'm making a taco salad for dinner tonight.
Sounds great! ❤️
What my favorite thing I ate today was my fig bar with dried figs probiotic and prebiotics❤
Sounds great!
Love the edge of your headscarf. My babies are 38 and 24. I miss the kid noises. My granddaughter is 7 and her noises just aren't the same. Prayers continue to ascend.
Thank you Dawn ❤️
Prayers for you, your family, and the entire Jewish Community 🙏🇺🇸🇮🇱
Thank you!
Hi Chana. All I can say is I’m staggered and disgusted by the awfulness that has been happening in the world. You are so strong through so many trials, and always (almost!) keep a smile. You’re an inspiration to me. You might recognise my old name on UA-cam Kaissi. I will keep praying for you all 😊
The Raman soup looked delicious. Baby firefly is getting so big. ❤
We use that same Ramen about once a week.
I use home canned chicken, cooking the ramen in the bone broth the canning process made and some water. Then add the chicken pieces after removing them off the bone (they were cooked during the pressure canning) and throw in a gluten-free and soy-free chili oil and dehydrated fried spicy garlic and onions. We also occasionally add the fried egg on top. My 4 year old asked for spicy ramen for supper, but supper was already in the instant pot, so we will be having it tomorrow. I love this only takes a few minutes to make and it is so delicious and nutritious.
I'm continuing to pray for you and for your community, Chana. In a world where there is so much uncertainty and darkness, your sharing normal, everyday life is very welcome. I hope it blesses you, too.
Thank you so much!
Hi Chana! Wow, a burger, fries and soda sounds like a great treat!
I stir fried onion, corn and peas with leftover dark chicken meat, basil, oregano and thyme and had it over yellow basmati rice (just added turmeric) with Bragg's fake soy sauce spray.
Delicious!
My husband also brought me back a hamburger and fries last night from his trip to Orlando where he ate at a nice kosher restaurant there. Excellent
That is awesome!
Channa I was so jealous of you as I watched you bit into your burger. What I like about takeaway food no dishes. 😊May your God keep you all safe 🙏 ❤️ Ireland 🇮🇪
Thank you so much 😊
I love the coffee and your brown top. It's so cute.
Thank you!
Your husband is so thoughtful! I love hearing your children laugh and play. I’m so bored with food right now, in a total food rut. But my favorite thing is my morning coffee smoothie. I make it with ice, cold brew, Greek yogurt, some kind of nut milk, and a tablespoon of rolled oats. Sometimes I have the same thing for dinner, just omitting the coffee and adding a handful of spinach and a little frozen fruit. Because I’m in a good rut 😂. I love your videos! Have a good week!
Sounds like the ice coffee in Israel! Yum!
Thank you. I always find how others meal plan and cook fascainting. I have supper for my husband and me in the oven right now. It is a favorite of ours and easy. I bake salmon fillets brushed with honey Dijon mustard and topped with lemon slices for 20 minutes. We’ll be eating it with a rice pilaf, salad, and apple slices.
If you are still reading cozy mysteries Chana I recommend the DI Hillary Greene series set in Oxford England, the author is Faith Martin and there are twenty books.
Thank you for the suggestion!
Chana you should consider going into filmmaking in the future because that transition at 11:50 had me gasping
Aw thank you!
Black rice too? Neat!
Right? :)
Hi Chana! I'm so happy to see you today!
Your breakfast and lunch look fantastic and I will be trying them soon! I actually recently bought chia seeds and I was intending to add them to overnight oats but I will definitely try them in this pudding.
I hope your family in Israel is okay and safe. They are in my prayers!
I add them to my overnight oats as well. Such a great food!
Praying for you and your Jewish community all over. Thanks for this video.
Thank you Sally ❤️
Hello chanah , the chia seeds pudding looks amazing❤ thanks for everything, take care and stay safe , praying with a heavy heart
Thank you so much 🤗
Baby Firefly should get paid for his commentary with a cookie or something! I’m sure he gets his cookies.😉
Hi Chana! Great video this week. Just love spending a little time with you. Hola from Cuernavaca, Mexico
I had fried pork chops green beans gravey and white rice with chicken bulone mixed in it
Hello Chana and Fam! Hope y'all are doing well. Keep on keeping on!! ✡️
We do half and half coffee in South Louisiana.
Morning Chana, so nice to see your beautiful smile this morning. So far I have only had frozen yoghurt and tea this morning, we will see about lunch.
Sounds like a fantastic way to start your day!
@@jaroffireflies I was craving ice cream but as a type 2 diabetic probably not wise so last night I froze some Greek yoghurt and it was delicious this morning and filled the craving for ice cream.
Continued prayers for you and your beautiful family both here and in Israel
Thank you Barbara!
I’m feeling a bit off today so I ate toast and tea. My friend makes me sourdough bread. It makes wonderful toast.
Sounds delicious! Sorry you’re feeling a bit off!
Awww baby firefly toddling in the background at the beginning of the video, so sweet ❤
I have had to limit myself with the news. So sad and devastating. 😢 I remember my trips to Israel with love and joy. I am so happy I have had that opportunity. I know you will make it one day soon. I am praying every day 🙏 for all of this to end and for Hamas to release the hostages and surrender 🙏 . Please know that you and your family are loved. ❤
Thank you ❤️ And you are smart to limit the news
Ohh! How precious hearing and seeing baby firefly 😊
Praying 🙏 for you and your family and all involved in the war .🙏✡️🇮🇱✝️🇺🇲🥰
Chana, the Ramen bowls look delicious. I have made myself Chia pudding with Cocoa for a breakfast treat. 💞🙏
Sending love to you and your family Chana
Lovely! Thanks so much for sharing with us. I start every morning with ice coffee, Greek yogurt topped with blueberries and homemade granola. Peace to you and your beautiful family.
Delicious! Thank you ❤️
Rewind sound...I can't be the only one who had to stop this to jot down the chai seed pudding recipe. Thank you, Chana!!!
Enjoy!
You have been in my thoughts and prayers. Love your beautiful family. Have a great day! We love black rifle too! ❤️🙏🏼
Thank you!
Hello Chana! Baby Fireflies IS making filming more challenging for sure! 😍 He is growing fast! Last Saturday I made eggplant and beans with olive oil, salt and garlic as a side dish for the first time!!! My kids didnt like it but me and muy husband loved it, so we'll keep doing it 🤭...thanks for the recipe!!
Love eggplant! ❤️
Black ramen looks neat❤
It was!
Shavuah Tov Chana!!! The ramen you made was so fancy and beautiful. Yum!!! I want to make this!!! It sure I will but all good intentions over here 😊❤stay well and safe 🙏💕🇮🇱
Great video, Chana! You are a delight to watch.
Thank you so much!
The ramen looks very healthy, new subbie btw
Thank you! And welcome! I am so happy you are here!
I have zero idea how to cook so any cooking video or drink video is awesome. More please. My life has changed because I am adapting the Shabott day into my routine, working super hard to replenish and it makes a huge difference in my week. I think most people use Saturday to grocery shop or just shop and not be home and the other day cleaning so there is really no Sabbath Day at all.
I drink regular Kedem grape juice
Quinoa balls from Terrain cafe in Glen Mills pa
Oops was my favorite think I ate today..it had a middle Easter flavor profile with a yogurt dipping sauce and a side of arugula
Sounds yummy!
Always nice to see a new video from you! I noticed your Black Rifle coffee in some past videos since it is my favorite coffee, too! I drink Le Croix seltzer, as well, but I put in about a 1/8 cup of fruit juice in a glass with the seltzer to give it more flavor. So sweet of your husband to bring you a burger and fries. The warmth and love in your family is a such a pleasure to watch, thank you for sharing with us.
❤️❤️❤️
Good morning I hope you have a day full of peace and joy. I also like a little coffee with my milk lol and sugar for me as well. I tend to have 2/3rds coffee and 1/3rd cream and sugar. My mother always drank her coffee black and was mystified on how much stuff I put into mine lol.
Right?!? I don’t understand drinking black coffee lol ☕️
@@jaroffireflies I tried so may times to enjoy it like she did but I just never liked it without cream and sugar I can even do cream only in a pinch but not black.
Hi, I hope things are improving. I know that nobody is perfect but sending love and hugs to you and the Jewish community.
Thank you Rebecca ❤️
I love watching your "what I eat in a day" videos! Thank you for sharing 💙
Glad you like them!
I’m just here….supporting my FAVORITE Jewish content creator and her amazing family! ❤
Thank youuuuu ❤️❤️❤️
Hi Chana,
Thanks so much for sharing! Your lunch looked so good I had to come home and make it for dinner. Thinking of you and your family and sending continuous prayers!❤
So fun! Im so glad enjoyed! And thank you ❤️
Hello Hanna, please know so many Christians are behind you and are praying for Israel. I've been watching your channel foe a couple of years and it inspires me to be a better person. Please know many, many christians stand with Israel, and from a Greek in Australia.. Greek yogurt is the best you are correct!!
Thank you Amelia ❤️
Chana, I love your videos so much!! You're like a bright spark in my day as I'm under a lot of stress at the moment. You are such a beautiful soul and I am grateful to have found your channel. Do you like eating spicy food?
Thank you so much!! Yes, I do enjoy spicy foods. Especially jalapeño spicy :)
Me too! I made a chicken curry for my family tonight. I'm a mom of 5.
@@lizdorrington2851 yum!!!
Love your video it lifted my spirits! I am going to try the kosher coffee! ☕️
If you put a little of the black rice into white rice when you cook it, it turns purple! How dark a shade depends on how much you mix in. Look up Korean mixed rice and there are so many options!
Also if you like Asian noodles and need gluten free, maybe try soba noodles if you haven't already. They are a bit thicker than spaghetti. It's made of buckwheat, which is NOT any type of wheat. It's actaully a triangular seed from a flower.
Oh so fun! Thanks for the tips!
Hi Chana! Happy Monday 😊 I always give your videos a thumbs up first. So nice of Mr. Firefly to bring you a treat. He is so thoughtful. Can baby firefly look out the window at his sister and brothers while they are playing? He sure was chattering up a storm. Baby chatter brings much joy to me. Did baby firefly eat some noodles? Yesterday I took my friend out for his birthday. We went to our favorite Chinese buffet. I had shrimp, low mein, sauteed green beans, a small salad and creme cheese rangoons. Yummy. My favorite lunch on a weekend. Hope you are having a wonderful week so far! Thank you for your videos and sharing parts of your life with us. Stay blessed! ❤😊
Continue prayer for the Jewish community and for setting the hostages free
Thank you Katie ❤️
Roasted some pecans in the airfryer for snack. That was my fave today.
Hello chana, thank you for sharing this video. I like to watch it. Good to see that you all are doping fine. Greatings annie
Im doing ok. Every day is a roller coaster :)
Oh my goodness…NOW I’m hungry LOL 😂
It all looks delicious.!!!
I love that Osem consomme, I need to try using it as a ramen broth like you did.
I used to use chicken broth but this is so much more budget friendly :)
I love your vids! Regarding my fav thing that I ate today, that's easy! Since we had a snow storm slam us today, there weren't many people at church this morning, and I'd brought in a Texas Sheet Cake for coffee after Mass. I ended up eating three pieces of it today! Best breakfast ever! Lolz Polar bear hugz from Alaska ❤ 🐻❄️
I liked your ad on Thrive Market Since my kids are grown and out of our home. It’s just my hubby and myself. The favorite thing for me to eat today is mashed potatoes. With lots of butter!!! We also had meatloaf. Which Beef does no longer agree with me. I don’t eat it but my husband loves beef!!
We love mashed potatoes here too! Bangers and mash is a fav of my kids :)
Good morning! That was fun. I hope you have a very peaceful week. 💙
Thank you! You too!
Great video Chana! When it comes to food, on Rosh Chodesh & minor holidays I enjoy a salami omelet. I keep it simple:beat two eggs add salami and fry in a pan. Don’t forget to use a meat frying pan!
Sounds very yummy!
I made a chicken pot pie today. I bought a ready-made puff pastry crust for the top, to speed up the operation. My version did use sour cream, but apparently, there are kosher recipes for chicken pot pie. It is a wonderful comfort food.
Yes we can definitely make chicken pot pie kosher :) It’s one of Mr Firefly’s fav dishes that I make for a weeknight dinner 🥘
I love your channel. Also love learning all things Jewish. And I’m a Israel supporting Southern Baptist Christian.
Thank you!
Hi Chana! I love pickles. Sour ones, garlic ones, bread and butter ones, sweet ones, they are my go to snack and I have them in some form at lunch every day. The only meal I don't want them is for breakfast! I find I need protein at every meal to fill me up, so I choose what protein will do the trick and either add veggies , pickles, or once a day bread or pasta. Your ramen soup looked good! As always a pleasure to watch and learn.....
I love pickles too :) I buy them from Costco lol
The Lotus Brand Ramen is such a go to of mine. I work as a teacher, and often am in a hurry in the mornings. I grab a pack or two, some kimchi by Mr. Lucky, and if I have them a couple of boiled eggs, and I am set. Kosher, gf, and a good bit of protein. Thank you for sharing your meals with us😊.
Oh love kimchi! I just discovered a kosher brand at Wal Mart!
@@jaroffireflies Lucky Foods is the one I use.... it might be the same one you found. It's also kosher. I tried making it before, but this one is a great quick option.
@@itstomatosmommy5098 that sounds right! Im out right now so I can’t check. I’ve been nervous to make it. I don’t need another project lol
@@jaroffireflies 🤣🤣🤣🤣.... I understand completely.
I just made baked potato salad and its just a baked potato but all chopped up. Its really good! Dairy free sour cream, vegan bakon, green onions, salt free stake seasoning, white potatos and a pinch of salt. I got the idea off pinterest months ago.
Also I made roasted green beans on friday and I had some of those also and there so good. Fresh beens with avocados oil, salt dash onion and herb seasoning.
Sounds delicious!
Good Morning Jar of Fire Flies, Oh you look so happy now.
Thank you for sharing with us your food haul video.
Baby fire fly sound happy and still want your attention.
Shalom to you and your family. I'm looking forward to see what you will make for the Holiday's Celebration.
Be encouraged and bless and stay safe you and your family.
Still keeping Israel in my prayers and thoughts. Praying for this war to be over with.
You're Welcome. Enjoy your work week and weekend.🇮🇱✝️🛐✡️🕎👼🏾🙏🙌🏾👏🏾💃🏽🤗💓🕊️💐😇♥️🦃🕎.
Thank you for your kindness Charisse ❤️
Coffee is life. I simply can not get through the day without a couple cups.
Sending prayers to you and all your family during this most horrific time. Leaning on God a great deal trying to understand the blind hate and coming up empty.
Today is an exciting day for me! I am off cooking duty. The kids (intheir 40s) are making me dinner tonight.
Been a bit under the weather the last few days.
Hope you enjoyed the dinner!
Thank you for sharing parts of your life. I cannot get the war out of my head no matter what I do so I hope and pray for all the innocence involved, not only in Israel and Gaza, but Ukraine and Sudan and the United States and all the countries of the world. I am curious though about the burger. Are fast food joints, kosher? Do you have a kosher fast food place in your community or a kosher restaurant that something like that can be picked up for takeout? It just struck me as a curious item. Thank you again and any information that you can provide is much appreciated, have a blessed day
Hiya, Chana! I have never seen purple noodles. Very cool. I heard that you can add food coloring to pasta water and it will dye the pasta whatever color you want. Fun meal for kids!
We have done that with pasta! It takes the color very well!
I love your glasses
Thank you!
Pesto tomato spinach and red onion grilled cheese was my lunch today
Yum!
Would you ever do a video about how many prayers you say each day? It seems like Jews have a separate prayer for everything.
That’s a great suggestion thank you! And yes we do have a lot of prayers.
I drink bustelo coffee with sugar with no milk
Hi Hannah ! I'm a new subscriber, I enjoy all your uploads and contents !
Welcome! Thank you for subscribing:) Im so glad you’re here!
@@jaroffireflies Thank you !🥰🤗
Hi Channah! I just did a little firefly marathon while working in my kitchen this morning. I just want to encourage you that amidst all the “river to the sea” and other Hamas propagande that there are people like me who were either neutral or ignorant to the situation who now understand Hamas is the enemy of both Israel AND it’s own people (whether it’s initiating conflict, warping education to be jhadist boot camps for tots, turning all infrastructure and other other funds towards terrorism as opposed to investing in their own people). I absolutely ache for both civilian populations but recognize that in order for peace and prosperity, Hammas can’t continue to operate and believe a ceasefire can be done instantaneously if Hamas returns the refugees and surrenders.
Kristen Rooney please also read about Israel’s President Netanyahu and how he was desperately trying to eliminate Israel’s Supreme Court when October 7 happened. A majority of citizens were outraged about that and were in the midst of huge daily protests. Now Netanyahu wants to be a hero.He is not a good person. I, too, pray for all the innocents and good people of that region, both the Jews and the Palestinians. Evil is evil no matter who does it. Innocents as collateral damage is heinous no matter who does it. I believe most people are confused. They are NOT against the Jewish people or pro-Hamas even though that is the picture being painted. But most people are against evil warlords who harm regular people who want to just live peaceful lives.
Hamas said he’d return women and children hostages in return for a 5 day ceasefire. Isreal refused. Hostages are probably under rubble now thanks to the constant bombardment. Also thanks to Isreal 39 babies in incubators suffocated to death from lack of oxygen. Didn’t know babies could be Hamas
Edit: the word “refugees” was an error. I unequivocally meant “hostages.” My apologies for misspeaking
I mixed some chia pudding, thanks for the tip.
@@suehansen4556 I'm thankful my words resonated with you. Personally I find ALL anti-semitism as hateful/nonsense/ignorant and I would say the same about Islamophobia. I think somewhere along the line, nuance has been lost. It's possible to criticize or question the Israel government without attacking Jews. Heck even in the Bible/Torah the tribes of Israel had good kings and bad kings. Criticizing Hamas also isn't a judgement on the Palestinian people. Especially in Gaza where 60% of the population are under 24, 50% under the age of 18. Kids are praying a horrific price and I have to be able to reconcile that with the fact that Hamas needs to be stopped. Freedom fighters don't film the execution of a 19 year-old hostage which took place yesterday. I will always be PRO-HUMANITY (and I honestly think Chanah would support that), but recognize for that to happen, antisemitism won't help, but Hamas disbanded very much would open the door for a democratic, non-terrorism based Palestinian government which would be able to meet not just Israel but other neighbouring countries so that they can rebuild, talk about two-state solutions.. etc. As much as I want Israel to experience peace, I also want the people of Palestine to prosper in peace.
Your sponsorship offers are really good. I'm a bit jealous that I can't take advantage of then as I am in Australia but I often look for similar things here.😊
Aw sorry you can’t order from Thrive! We have really enjoyed our membership. They have great options.
Hi Chana, I hope you are doing Okay ? 🤗You continue to be in my prayers 🙏 What a good idea frying an egg to put on the Ramen, I am useless at boiling eggs (no idea why, either cook too long or too short & then the egg shell to mess with 😳) This evening we are having stir fry veg & noodles 😋 Take care, with fondest regards Clare x
Boiled eggs are hard! I have yet to figure out a way to consistently get the shells to come off easily!
The ramen looks amazing x
Thank you!
Love your Ramen 🍜
Cute 🐝🍼with personality 😍
I like ramen but I don't enjoy it with all the "things" in it! LOL So far today I've had coffee with half & half and about 4 oz of Noosa vanilla yogurt. I like the custard consistency of this yogurt and it's really filling. Baby Firefly is really on the move now! LOL And so is mama! Have a great week. 💚
We used to do plain noodles and broth but my kids have been loving all the extras so here we are lol
Life is hard… so much is hard thank you for the little corner of normalcy great to hear the babies in the background also.. missing the little stages but enjoying what I have.
So fun about the coffee… I prefer oat milk in mine I’m not a fan of dairy milk. ❤😂 I worked in a coffee bar for a little bit and learned that was my preference over almond milk because it had more body.
I made a chicken cobbler favorite new recipe it was yummy. It’s like a pot pie but I use different veggies so that makes it different 😂
Cooked chicken on bottom
Veggies of choice on top of that
About 2 cans worth of dairy free cream of mushroom soup
1/2 cup of broth
Favorite biscuit mix to make the topping (just follow the box made dairy free for us)
Layer don’t stir
Bake until top is cooked
So glad that you enjoyed! And thank you for sharing the yummy recipe!
