Crochet is the most amazing hobby.. I started a little club that meets at my place on Sundays. I have taught others and made little neighborhood community. I like the texts... I get.. questions and tips and shared posts... all crochet related.... I call it crochet gossip I made almost all the gifts this year and intend to keep at it.
Aw that is so lovely 😊 such a great way to connect with other people in your community too! Quite a lot of people seem to crochet in secret lol. Crochet gossip sounds much better than regular gossip lol. Xxx
Thanks for another great video. I love your content and I am getting ready to do a big no-buy year here too. I am taking so many notes! ^_^ I am looking forward to focusing more on baking, crafting, and getting the house and yard in order. You are a good motivator.
Aw I’m so glad you find it helpful! It’s actually really fun coming up with ideas of things to do instead next year and to get excited about them! Thanks for joining me for the no buy year 😊❤️
Hi Keelan🙋♀️ So pleased I found your channel before our No Buy Year as it’s been great to get into the right ‘enjoyable’ mindset for this ‘exciting’ time ahead of us. I echo practically everything you’ve said today. My goals to date are: Visit Northern Ireland twice to see my 3 sons only using money saved from being super frugal. If you’re up for it: Meet up with you both times for a coffee (my treat😉) and you can interview me face to face for the book you will be writing once 2025 is over. My Broadband contract runs out in March, I will not renew it as planning to use library’s computers which are free, time spent in library will give me an extra bit of exercise getting there and back, though only about 5 minutes away is 10 minutes a day, 5 days a week is an extra 50 minutes per week x by 365 = 304 hours = 12.67 days. Thinking about walking nearly 13 days without stopping is quite impressive, however this well demonstrates how tiny increments of doing anything negatively or positively all add up. Also 2 hours in the library 5 days a week will save on heating in my house. I have been the opposite to you Keelan in that whilst I love books they have only ever been in a couple of categories and all the information I’ve found online. It’s my intention to now read the physical books in the library, and not necessarily bring them home as I want to learn some new skill during 2025 which I will now use my home for. These are just a couple of my goals - I most definitely seeing this new way of life stretching way beyond 2025 and consumerism! Thanks again Keelan 👋
Aw hi Jeanette! That is such a lovely idea, I’d like that! It would be good to get to hear about all your no but plans in person. You have thought out the library, walking and heating situation so well! It definitely adds up to a lot even if you just do things in small stages! I’m sure that will save lots of money! I’m noticing since my partner got a bike I am using much less petrol and it’s only a 5-10 min drive to his work! That’s a great idea going to see your kids with your no buy savings. I love the idea of using books for skills at the library as well! I don’t often think to get books on skills but I’m sure there are lots of useful ones to find there! Well done for planning so many good ideas and achievable goals! I think they’re better than the big ones that can be harder to stick to 😊❤️ xxx
That sounds like a great start! I'm very much a rules and routines sort of person so if I put a rule in place it helps me to stick to things. Goals are really useful too, we need to know where we're trying to get to and why to keep us motivated. I have the same problem with unread books and unused craft materials! Maybe you could persuade your family to take turns with their favourite tv subscriptions? Maybe two months of each? I know from experience how easy it is to keep them going but I found myself looking for things to watch because I was paying for the service rather than paying for the service because there was something I actively wanted to watch!
Yeah I definitely find it easier with concrete rules in place too, it makes it much clearer! It’s good to know why you’re doing it too to get you through the harder moments! It’s hard not to collect them whenever you are interested in those things! I suppose there are only so many hours in the day to do everything though! That’s a great idea about the tv subscriptions thank you! I am not a big tv watcher but I will talk to them about rotating them 😊❤️
I stopped Amazon Prime several years ago. Not sure if it is the same where you are, but in the US if you have a cart of at least $35 subtotal it still ships free!
Aw thank you, I checked and it is the same here! It’s funny how it kinda tricks you into thinking it’s almost essential to have prime to buy from them at all lol xx
I think Potato is telling you he'd like to be given a starring role in your videos 😂😂. Im struggling with not panic buying products I use regularly, ie, a particular body lotion I use a lot and it isnt always available in B&M or Home Bargains. It can be months before they restock . There isnt another alternative product for the same price that is as effective. I can buy it from Tesco, but double the price 🫣🫣. So, Ive got into the habit of " stock piling "! Most of my clothing comes from charity shops, some are brand new, others nearly new. I love a bargain 😂, but I do just buy what I need and not impulse buy. I like the idea of reusing and recycling in todays " disposable " society. Ive bought 2nd hand furniture from charity shops and upcycled. Think I'm going to do this when I move. Also, look for free items.
Haha I think so too! I think he gets to feature in them almost as much as me so he needs to pipe down lol I don’t think it’s a bad thing to stock up on products you like when they are on offer because it will save you money overall and I don’t think it’s a problem unless it’s more than anyone could use.. it’s smart to do that rather than spending twice as much elsewhere 😊 I love charity shops and bargains too. It’s a nice feeling when you find something new and it’s so affordable 😊❤️
Keelan I want to order your first book His Mighty Hand, I’m a bit confused, are there 3 with the same title, if so I want to be sure to order the first one - Thanks👋
Great ideas, I am gonna try to do it too. I have had no buy months.. and they sure did the trick! Is there a way I could share what I am putting together with you. I am NOT a writer, I am am musician.....lord.

Good ideas that I'll keep in mind. Your make up looks pretty.

Hi Jeanette! Yes it is a trilogy so the first book is half-light, second is pitch black and the third is the light. Thanks so much 😊❤️
