Whenever I hear someone say "this is my first time hearing Tool" I get a big grin on my face because I know what they have in store. IMO, their drummer, Danny Carey, is the greatest living rock drummer. Maynard's vocals are amazing as well. If you really want a treat, watch the "Danny Carey | "Pneuma" by Tool (LIVE IN CONCERT)" video. It is a drum cam and watching Danny work will leave your draw dropped - I promise!
yeah, that's why Tool reaction videos are always entertaining. Witnessing the moment when people going through their second birth into life!😂 Chapter 1 : "the time before Tool' ends,Chapter 2 : 'Tooled!' begins.

There are two bands I have listened to religiously over the last thirty plus years, Tool and Pink Floyd. They have surprising similarities. Knowing how much you love Pink Floyd, you are going to LOVE Tool 😊. Looking forward to more!
As a lifelong Tool fan, and a “bass chick” and vocalist… I want to personally thank you for recognizing the amazing Justin Chancellor on bass. You’re going to love this ride… and I’m here for it. Liked and subbed. Get ready for The Tool army bump 😂
Uh Oh! She's opened the Tool Box! lol You definitely have to listen to more Tool Stacey, they are insane! So much talent!! Some songs I recommend: Forty Six & 2, Aenima, Vicarious, Pushit, 7empest. And of course Pneuma. But, for Pneuma, I highly recommend watching the live version with the camera on Drummer Danny Carey. He's regarded as one of the best drummers in the world right now. And to watch him is just amazing! Here's a link to that video: ua-cam.com/video/FssULNGSZIA/v-deo.html
Watching someone experience Tool for the first time is always entertaining. Stacey, you are quickly becoming one of my favorite reactors! You present your thoughts in such a classy & graceful manner. You have a strong vocabulary & are adept at vividly describing your experience. Great reaction! I look forward to you discovering more Tool. 🤘🏻
I started listening to them when I saw the Sober video on MTV in the 80s. I too was entranced by their talent. From 1989 till today(7/2024), I have studied this band. Tool has become my religion.
My greatest joy other then seeing them live or listening everyday to TOOL is seeing UA-cam TOOL reactions. The reason I say this is bc it takes me back 34 years the first time I ever heard them & seeing any TOOL reactions on UA-cam reinforce & reinvigorate my intense hardcore love for my fav band!🤘🏼 My only regret I have is not being able to take all these reviewers with me to see them live hypothetically speaking. So here's the good news - this is their poppyest song not just in terms of accessibility but also the lyrics. Tool's catalog just gets *deeper* from here. 🔥🔥
For not having a musical background your take on this song was pretty spot on ....Congratulations on discovering Tool and best of luck to your channel! 👍👍
I’m a huge Tool fan as well Pink Floyd, I find the similarities is song structure is super cool, each group puts out a song that is really two songs in one, you have the lyric song/story and then you have the instrumental song/story
Floyd are my favourite band and agree with everything you said. Floyd and King crimson are like tools parents. Hopefully she will listen to some KC after she finishes PF and tools discoraphies
Tool is such a good example of a unit. They work so well together and each instrument (including vocals) complement the other so well. Very well thought out music.
I've seen Tool live twice. Amazing, powerful, unforgettable! You've stepped in it now! Huge collection of powerful, wonderful, insightful masterpieces!!! There are SO MANY!! Try "Sober". only one of many, many!!
This is the first Tool song my pal at music school showed to me. I used it as my solo song recital for a lead-guitar module and passed with flying colors, my teach' freakin loved it haha. This song kicks ass in so many ways.
I like tool for some of the same reasons I like Metallica, Pink Floyd and Moody Blues. First, the music just sounds good. Secondly, the lyrics have a meaning and an intent. Something worth saying. Plus the ability to add the appropriate emotion to the song. In my little world, Tool is one of the "big boys."
I fell in love with Stacey as she dug down the Pink Floyd rabbit hole and now jumping into my other favorite all time band in Tool!!! I like where this relationship is going Stacey... just like with Pink Floyd, they have an endless collection of songs you can choose ! !
Great reaction! My 2 favorite bands are Tool and Pink Floyd for similar reasons. Both are so innovative! my first time hearing Toll was the song Sober and I never looked back. As time went on, Tool just got more and more innovative (e.g. Lateralus where they used the mathematical Fibonacci sequence to build the song on it)
1997 my friend David, RIP, invited me to see Tool. No clue who they were. No idea. Fell in love that night. Love enough to put ink on my arms 4 times referencing the band.
if you love pink floyd you should love tool just a lot harder heavier but they have a pretty nice rabbit hole too. i recommend everything from them. basically you have to think progressive rock/metal , dmt to an extent and smart music smart lyrics
The interesting thing about TOOL is that the band comes up with the music and the lead singer (Maynard) stays out of it till they are done. Once they are, he comes in and adds the lyrics.
They barely have live versions but there is a live version of Pneuma. Its drum cam only but thats one hell of a show watching Danny Carey pushing through one of the most complicated songs ever recorded.
....and so it begins......I was hooked the very first time I heard them (in the early 90s)....I'm not going to recommend a song...others will lead you correctly....they are incredible and go see them live in person....
Great reaction! As a Tool fan since the first album, it’s great to see a new born fan comes into the world for the first time. Check out the live Drum Cam showcasing Danny Carrey.
Yes yes yes !!! Welcome to Tool's world. My favorite band from the 90's. Have seen them live 16 times. I would however suggest having the lyrics pulled up on your phone. Their songs can be quite deep. For your next Tool song, I would suggest Forty Six & 2 The lyrics video explains the meaning of the song. It's one of their biggest hits Added : Danny Carey arguably the world's best rock drummer Who are you to call the "Pot" black
This is only the tip of the iceberg! All 4 members are absolute geniuses in their own right and I would say there is no bad Tool song in all of their discography. Maynard isn’t just a great singer but a stellar lyricist as well. No other band is able to make me feel and think so profoundly about myself, the world and the human psyche. A few songs that I would recommend you give a shot next could be; Lateralus, 46 and 2, Schism As other’s have said; the live drum cam video of Danny Carey is something else as well and will surely give you a sense of appreciation for Tool’s otherworldly drummer
I think TOOL picked up the mantle that Pink Floyd put down. Lyrically, the musicianship, the themes , the talent. All tell me modern day Floyd. The are in my top 3 favorite bands of all time. This is going to be a fun journey with you. I cant wait.
Finally! And, you seem to get it, dynamics, musicianship, and all. Be prepared to continue to be amazed and surprised with every new Tool track you react to as you continue down this new path of Tool enlightenment lol
Tool is the addiction you wish you'd started earlier in life, but grateful to finally have discovered. This band is easily Top 3 of all time, by any measure. Welcome to the journey. Spiral out.
Stacey Welcome to Tool's rabbit hole! As you journey through the hole, Tool is awesome with their different & unique songs. All of them are awesome together! Their iconic drummer aka "Octopus" Danny Carey is currently the GOAT right now! There is a drum camera focusing on Danny's skills on the song, Pneuma provided by his signature drum sticks by Vic Firth on here, UA-cam. Stacey, you will see why fans of Tool calls him the "Octopus"
YOU'VE DONE IT NOW, IN THE BEST POSSIBLE WAY! Welcome to the world of TOOL! You mentioned key words that describe TOOL perfectly, "Depth, transitional, great vocals, bass, superb drums, clean, powerful, beautiful, raw talent." If it isn't evident yet, TOOL is my favorite band and has been from their very first album. It makes me emotional to watch people react to TOOL for the first time. TOOL is more like a living breathing organism than a musical group, and believe their music to be in it's own category and can't be compartmentalized, nor can their fans. Other people have already commented on so many of their great songs, but I would be remiss If I didn't add my own. Check out: "TOOL - Sober Live (Pro Shot) Remastered, Sober(Lyrics), TOOL - Aenema(Lyrics). TOOL - Vicarious(Lyrics), TOOL - Stinkfist(Lyrics), TOOL - Forty Six & 2(Lyrics), TOOL - Schism(Lyrics Video), TOOL - Lateralus(Lyrics), and TOOL - Jambi(Lyrics)." Those are some biggies, but songs that others have commented on are excellent choices too. So many good comments, TOOL fans are the greatest! One of my favorite songs by TOOL is the song "HUSH," but it has some very strong adult language(more than usual), so be aware of that. Strong language doesn't bother me for a minute, in fact the song wouldn't be the same without it, but maybe listen to it first and see what you think. Anyway, keep up the great videos and definitely more TOOL please. Another third eye has been opened today, welcome.
You will be a different person from this point😎 There is not a song in their catalog that will not make you stop and admire the excellence at least once.
I think you expressed the entire "facial expression spectrum" within the first 45 seconds of the track lol. I'm here for it!! Welcome aboard!! Spiral out!!!! 🌀🎶
Listening to TOOL for the first time - I'm almost jealous. This is a band that took me a bit to warm up to at first but my journey with them has spanned decades and is precious as any other great discovery I've ever had. These men are musical, mathematical perfectionists.
Yes! I love to see a first reaction to Tool. This has been my favorite band for decades. Keep reacting to Tool, and the Tool Army will come take the journey with you. Great reaction, maybe check the Pneuma drum cam video next, or The Grudge, or 4 degrees.
Tool songs are masterpieces Tool is known for having longer songs with odd time signatures. Maynard ( the lead singer) and Tool sees his voice as an instrument in the band vocals can be back in the mix or more forward everything they do is intended with vocals falling out of the songs to let other instruments shine as well. They’re master musicians
Like RUSH, Tool has an understanding of cord and transitional changes no one seen coming but works so well and makes them special that most are blown away!
"The bass..the guitar..those drums...I love his voice...those transitions.." Yes Yes Yes Yes and Yes, much more to come. Welcome to your new rabbit hole
You just listened to one of the best bands ever! Maynard has one of the best voices in rock/metal. Everyone tries to copy the bassist's tone. The guitarist is known for playing great riffs and producing awesome sounds exactly when needed. The drummer is literally considered one is the best in the world. The entire band maticulously and mathmatically creates every sound, note, and word with purpose. If the vocals are a little in the back that's on purpose. If there is a lengthy transition it's all on purpose. Most Tool songs also have some kind of story or message and can be very deep. You did it properly though. Never do official or even user created music videos. They are trippy and distracting and have nothing to do with the song. Always have lyrics in front of you. And get ready for odd time signatures. Spiral out!
Been with you for awhile now. I kinda didn’t realize you have not been on the Spiral yet. TOOL is everything. Spiral Out and keep going down this magical rabbit hole. TOOL is all killer and no filler. Best band ever and I’m happy to see you here. 🌀 🤘🏻
I probably would have started a journey into Tool with "Forty-Six & 2" just to kind of ease into it. But then again, my first Tool song was "Prison Sex," so 🤷♂
one of the things tool does really well is transistions, and time changes. they also introduce a rift or theme and as the song goes on they expand on the riff / themes. they have great tone and tension in the music. they only have 5 full length albums and have been around since 1991/1992 i hope you give them a chance cheers
Whenever I hear someone say "this is my first time hearing Tool" I get a big grin on my face because I know what they have in store.
But then again, my first Tool song was "Prison Sex," so 🤷♂
Awesome to see another young mind absorbing the Genius of

Pneuma LIVE DRUM CAM 🔥 Danny Carey is an octopus 🐙 he’s amazing
one of the things tool does really well is transistions, and time changes. they also introduce a rift or theme and as the song goes on they expand on the riff / themes. they have great tone and tension in the music. they only have 5 full length albums and have been around since 1991/1992 i hope you give them a chance cheers
