This game honestly needs more eyes on it. I remember me and a friend were looking at models and one of the guys who’s a regular at the game shop showed us Dropzone. It was cheaper then 40k and to this day we love it, even if we’ve only played a handful of times. What I think people seem to continuously leave out is that the starter sets got doubled in models, while still keeping their cheap pricing. A 1000pts starter is less then a squad of Space Marines
Fun fact, ttcombat's website(or dropzone commander's one) has all the buildings available as files so you can just print them out and assemble them yourself for much cheaper
This looks like an interesting purchase, especially that cheaper bundle! Kinda like the terrain myself, and I know I would likely use it in place for my GW games. Also, would love to see you tackle more minis games, especially lesser known ones for people that are searching for something different!
I really love your scripted content-- its basically all I watch. I would ADORE for this Delightful Design series to become a staple of your scripted content. Great for new designers!
I really like Conquest: The Last Argument of King's deployment... because there isn't one. They march onto the table during the turns. Much like Dropzone, but in a Rank and Flank fantasy game. Dropzone looks interesting, and I was at the TTCombat booth at Adepticon and loved the minis. But there's not many around my town who play much. Battletech, Warhammer/AoS, Conquest, and some other smaller skirmish games are dominant and warring locally.
I bought and played Dropzone Commander back during its initial release. I loved the scale and concept of the game, but the rules really suffered from a bunch of unnecessary complexity. In the end, the game never took off locally. So now I have a really nice Scourge army that will likely never see the tabletop again. :/
"Warmachine is the cheap one, heroclix is the REALLY cheap one" Hell, no, they are cheaper than warhammer, but they are still hella expensive. Especially heroclix that has set rotation like standard format for magic, and some teams are 50$ a piece
2:47 is heroclix cheap? id figure the fully painted premade models would be more expensive, though maybe its just because you need fewer units? id imagine it would be like gunpla where the model kits are uber cheap in comparison to normal figures.
Depends on how much you get into it a Brick costs $178 for the latest set which is 10 boxes of 5 figures each and you're guaranteed at least 1 chase and 2 super rares. The miniatures game (kinda like a starter) costs $73. If you want con exclusives they are $40-$125 depending. It's a rotation game so depending on where you play (and especially if you want to be meta) and the format you'll have to keep buying. Finally if you're buying singles commons and rares are cheap, but some super rares and most chases get fairly to insanely expensive. Also I have no clue how you get maps 😅 Honestly I've been wanting to get into it, but I haven't been able to find a store that sells them or more importantly has people playing it.

I would love to see you cover the sister game, Dropfleet Commander!
Nice to hear the Ciaphas Cain music.
One day I hope to make a series about what to do and not do making a wargame like the TCG sins series

Well, the terrain is 10mm N-scale while GW is 25mm O-scale. It would look kinda funny using GW models with them.
@@Kohdok Hmm still decent for Epic ;)
First, your intro alone has earned you my subscription sir! Second, thanks for making a good informative video on Dropzone Commander.
I'm a big fan of the "things done right" videos.
Yo, that's pretty cool! A testament to how subtle changes to a comfortable setting can make a world of difference.
Been a big fan of dropzone commander since its initial release. Always good to see more videos on it.

I love Arcane Legions! I was so sad when it immediately went out of print as I've never seen any Minis game that was so affordable
Thanks for showcasing this great game👍

Loved the video, can't wait to see what you have planned next
takodachi spotted! lol 7:11
We are a US retailer that ships everywhere in the US, and also run events and conventions if you see us around sometime!
I've been wanting to get into the game for forever, I think I need to bite the bullet and grab a starter set!
I think the scale is about the same as Titanicus, which opens some... Interesting possibilities in my mind...
Smart System, I always wanted to check this out since watching this 1 badass video with some European guys in a cool minis room

I want the game just for terrain for the Robotech miniatures game
What you call vehicle scale i often hear it being reffered to as Epic scale.
Just started playing this game btw, its suprisingly easy to play.
"it gets rid of the biggest hurdle"
Expensive models? Complex rules? Painting?
"Deployment"
Arguably my favourite part of the game? I'll pass
Well it ditches expensive models, too.
@@Kohdok fair enough. I've just only really looked at drop fleet so I'm not as familiar with the prices of dropzone
If you think UCM is heavy and slow, looks at PHR. That’s heavy and slow moving
is that the stringstorm ciaphas cain song?
Dropzone is back again here in Berlin. Yeah...

Wow, this game actually seems pretty economic
Do warpath universe from mantic games please
But how are the rules?
They're quite good. Simple to learn, hard to master.
Im the first one
Nah im first
Wow, y'all want a cookie?
