I haven’t really paid much attention to the chicken nugget shapes.
Shane thinks his insecurity is relatable. It’s not it’s just annoying and cringey bc he’s so rich that he can afford therapy, a personal trainer, a nutritionist, etc.
Also it’s one thing to share experiences w mental health and body image issues (like I’ve had for years), but when I was watching him years ago he REALLY normalized these things in a really negative manner by being so self deprecating. Getting away from his got awful content helped me realize that that kind of self talk is actually really terrible for ur mh and self image!!!

Y’all nailed it. I used to give Shane the benefit of the doubt because I know he’s honestly struggled with his body image and mental health, and I know that those insecurities and habits don’t just evaporate because your life/wealth/status gets better. It can take years and lots of help to build a healthier mindset and curb the negative self talk.
But it’s now clear that he doesn’t want the help. He’s made no attempts to stop the self-deprecating, even if it’s just not saying it on camera. He won’t have an open conversation with his viewers where he promotes and encourages his fans to practice positive self-talk even though he himself struggles with it. He’s made himself the poster child of unhealthiness in the worst way, thinking it makes him quirky and relatable. Every time he turns on the camera, he makes the calculated choice to hurl these insults so flippantly and post it publicly with no regard to the negative impact it’s having on his audience.
It’s not blissful ignorance; it’s deliberately normalizing and spreading anti-recovery rhetoric, and at this point I can’t defend it anymore.

I’m sure you’ve already been exploring options but they work to find accommodation for people with mental illnesses (as well as other reasons) in Melbourne and Brisbane. If you’re in another state I’m sure they can recommend another organisation to you as well. Stay safe, this country is fucked, all the best to you
Hey, I'm sorry that you are facing that. I am severely mentally ill and I have been supporting 5 people by myself for the past 6 years because I don't have a choice. My mental illness is so bad it has nearly gotten me fired at several jobs as one of my mental illnesses if ocd and they get upset about my ritual. Idk about the rental crisis where you are from buy rent is becoming unaffordable in the US too. Every 2 years I have been gentrified out of whatever apartment I was living in, it's happening again in my current place, they are remodeling everything and adding a gate so they're definitely going to jack up the rent. Anyways, my point is, never give up, no matter how difficult it is if you try you will make it! Even though I have to get a new job every 6 months or so and move every 2 years I've been able to do it. Good luck to you. Stay strong!

My dad accidentally payed a medical bill that was $300 in full and was beating himself up for it because we had to watch what we bought due to that. If that bill had been $600 my dads soul would have left his body. $600 is a lot for people who have to watch what they buy.

Hi Jake, just wanted to propose a video idea: 8 Passengers. I'm sure you've heard of them, but if you have its a family of 8 that the mum vlogs their lives, however its military-style. One of the children, who was 14 at the time was sent away to a wilderness camp, they never revealed the reason. Another time he played pranks on his little brother and had his BEDROOM taken away for 7 months! There's a whole lot more, but I thought that it would be a good video idea :)
