Oh this is yours! Such a cool video dude, I’ll tag you in the description so people know where to go and find it! I should have done that sooner, but I didn’t notice this wasn’t an official video, I apologise!
Love the technical artistry of this hard working young band, trying to make a name for themselves. I liked the expression on your face when the bassist showed up. If you want to hear the lead guitarist sing, try their MV Bright Star from a few weeks ago--the video includes images of them playing on the bloody street in the US. Thanks for another good reaction.
Although they now have branched out into vocals and the like. I still love their instrumentals with 'Church' being personally the most moving. Enjoy Asterism and hopefully they will become bigger as time goes on. Hal Ca is a phenomenal player and still so young. Kids in Japan are given the right education.
I love instrumentals, I love technical prowess and I love when the two are combined, but only in small doses. I really respect these (at the time of this performance) kids and like most kids that are really, really good at something, they like to show off a bit and for this band that's a good thing. But as they get older that urge to melt the audience will be tempered and smoothed out. Now that they are in their 20's their music has matured and to my ear is a lot better for the restraint they show. Thanks for the review.
While the playing was fantastic - it is the fact that they were able to compose such an amazing piece of music that was so impressive. Lots of people can play stuff written by others, but not many can compose music that is this complex and sounds this good.
See, this is _exactly_ the sort of thing that I would listen to. It reminds me of the years after I quit music school and worked a 1700-0200 shift at a recording studio, making carts of jingles and bumpers for radio stations and driving around in my black Toyota with the ash trays full of "that's _INCENSE_ Mom!" listening to Rush and King Crimson. Life was simpler back then. Nobody even knows what radio is anymore. FWIW, youtube comments say Miyu didn't buy that bass, he made it. Talk about pretentious! You'd have to be an astrophysicist to make your own bass guitar!
Oh, I've been waiting for this video. :) And the moment you commented on the 7 strings of the bass, I thought to myself that you would stumble over those words later. 🤭 Miyu is good, damn good. And this was just a glimpse of it. Bottom line, exactly the reaction I was expecting. ✌🏻 And even if Band-Maid is my #1, I agree with you. As far as technical ability goes, at best very few can hold a candle to these three exceptional musicians here. Admittedly, I don't think Akane gives Mio a chance on the drums, but I would still love to see these two bands on stage together. A joint solo section with Kanami and Hal-Ca (Haruka) or a bass duel between Misa and Miyu? 🔥🤘🏻 _____________________ _"We all may never know what it is to be ourselves"_ - from *Gacharic Spin* -「 Replica 」 🎶✨

Love the moment that happens in every reaction to this song when reactors realize what they are really witnesing . I hesitated before clicking on this because I wasn't sure I wanted to hear you taking the piss out of maybe my favourite piece of music. Glad you appreciated it, and that I just about managed to contain myself when you called Miyu pretentious! On the comparison to my favourite band, I think what sets Band-Maid apart is the songwriting. I don't think Asterism are quite at the that level yet in that regard (although they have moments when they are, like this song and much of the Guernica+a album, and they're still very young). But you were comparing the technical skill, and honestly, by that criterion I'd put Asterism ahead of Band-Maid and every other Japanese band, with the possible exception of Sokoninaru. They (mostly the guitarist) do sometimes sing these days. Most of their long-term fans much prefer their instrumental music, but you could try Fiction for example. But as a Miyu fan, I'd recommend another instrumental piece, Church.
