Is it just capcom has a thing for sexy p guys with either a blonde or grey version of Leon’s hair. Like Leon, Ken, Dante, miles edgeworth. Is it just me or do all these guys seem similar
2:22. Funny you say that. In RE5, a profound moment is when Sheva and Chris encounter the natives who have been experimented on and infected. Sheva is in disbelief, but Chris states how you can't do anything for them and have to put them down. This makes his downfall in RE6 a lot harder. Despite everything, he kept going until, in the Village, he became the monster that the infected should be scared of.
Sadly the movies do be making it look like all of the characters are either always fighting them for the first time or it's been YEARS when it's only been like...some months since the last outbreak lol
Several antagonists in the series also like to mock and toy with Chris and harm/kill the people around him. e.g. Albert Wesker (this one is understandable), Carla Radames from RE6 (she even mocks Chris for losing his men over and over again), Lucas Baker from RE7, Glenn Arias from Vendetta (especially at the beginning part of the movie). He seems to get targeted a lot, and that weighs him down massively. But he still keeps pushing on regardless, despite feeling very weary from all the combat. At least from the distant finale from Village DLC, he is still doing fine and leading/teaching the next generation of anti-bioterrorism forces.
RE0 is actually my favorite, maybe nostalgia is hitting cause it was my first and what made me fall in love with the series.... plus giant bugs are pretty cool
I liked it, played it on Gamecube originally. It's been over two decades since I've last played it though so it's quite hard to remember. RE 0-3, the originals are still some of my favorite games of all time. Not saying the remakes are bad, but I just have a thing for older games.
I love it, Re1 remake is my favorite, the visuals, the atmosphere the character looks, Re0 is close. The movies are a lil hit and miss, they can be fun but have their list of problems as you mention, the writing really is all over the place
I think the reason I like the CGI RE movies so much is because it just feels like a really long cutscene straight out of the games. The characters all look the same and sound the same as their game versions. The live action movies just feel like they're cosplaying as the RE characters.
Hahaha that's such a massive compliment. I just want to make cool stuff for people and hang out with my fellow gamers here on the channel. I'm in no rush.
I played RE2 when I was a kid probably 7-8 years old, I loved how scary the games where to me but always got stuck at the puzzles, anyway I woke up one night having a nightmare about the licker on the ceiling when you first enter the police station, my dad was still awake at the time luckily and I told him what I'd had a nightmare about so he told me to show him tomorrow, I did that and he ended up playing through the entire game while I watched and then he completed RE3 after that, easily some of my favorite games from my childhood. Nemisis was amazing and utterly terrifying especially with the jump scares.
@@keikurono5813remember in that other movie trailer there was a character that looked a lot like Ark and everyone got hyped? Really wish Capcom would listen to the fans, if they are already going to put fan service cameos that don't make sense that at least would be an appreciated one.
As of 2025 the ages of RE characters. Chris - 52 Jill - 51 Leon - 48 Claire - 46 Rebecca - 45 Ada - 51(I know she's not in the movie, but lets add her as well)
Jill was kept in suspended animation for a while and then was being regularly dosed with with a kind of super soldier serum for a long time after that while mind controlled so for her it makes sense that she’s still physically youthful.
Lorewise the characters have been infected so many times that now they physically age super slow, they're superhumanly strong and agile and they have a certain degree of immunity to zombification so they can last longer till they find a cure

Rebecca killed zombies with her ABSURD forearm strength in Vendetta. She casually swung a fire extinguisher and lodged scissors through a zombie skull like it was nothing.

Personally, I love the Resident Evil movies. Well, the one's with Milla Jovovich. Maybe because I just really like Milla Jovovich. I fell in love with her after The Fifth Element.
The first Milla film was in the so bad it's good territory and more as a generic goodbad film of the era than a RE film. I remember running my ass home after dark, from a gaming session of Nemesis with my friend back around the early 2000s. Cats and dogs became lickers and monsters brought to life from my imagination. I remember how incredible the PlayStation graphics were for the time. Looking back I realize, my own imagination is better than anything else. Ive watched all RE movies, read most of their books, and played most of their games. They all definitely have their own problems however, I will say that every piece I’ve consumed, has taken me back to that first play through of Nemesis and the feeling of running my ass home, heart pumping full of adrenaline. For that alone I will be a fan for life.
Dude, I love your videos. This is a hilarious breakdown. I played every single Resident Evil game except for the small side games. I was 13 when the first one came out and I remember walking home at night from my friends house at night and being creeped out after playing it.
I played and finished Resident Evil in Japanese when it first came out, and have owned almost every resident evil game after, but I could not for the life of me until last month finish any of them. Last month I just had a splurge run of resident evil and I am back in love with the series. I am a 44 year old man and I still can't get passed the garage scene in resident evil 7 vr. I am a huge chicken shit. That's it.
I think the background music in Resident Evil games is what really makes them great. It sets the mood and atmosphere that keeps you on the edge of your seat. In my opinion RE 1, 2, and 3 original games are the alpha and omega of the entire series. Zero, Code Veronica, and Outbreak are good spin offs. All the rest should have been stand alone games without the Resident Evil title.
I actually noticed the music pretty early in the video. I was trying to figure out if it was from something. It turns out it's from right here. Pretty good work.
I watched it on Prime almost as soon as it came out. And it was pretty damn good! I loved seeing all the classic RE heroes from 4 all assembled there in that final fight. I'm also happy it served as a sequel to Vendetta, tying up one final loose end.
It would be cool if Chris and jill ,were on a airplane that went down ,and they had to jump out ,landed some where that the T virus was released, and they had to survive with little ammo, fight zombies, bring it back to the classic games, not be a counterstrike. I still love RE 4
@sungrandstudios well they have her from re3 but show she has the trauma from re5 20 years pass and she's still looking exactly the same I know her virus situation makes her age slower but still. Then they make her reckless all because when she was controlled she destroyed a few things. Instead of her being apologetic she's just reckless and a bitch to everyone including Leon who she barely meets. And I feel like the first time her and Leon meet is just fan service they were holding back despite the situation being fight to survive which was so disappointing. I watched it a few times and I had more issues with her writing the more I watched it. I even had issues with Rebecca who is my favorite from the series. And the villian is a joke like oh no he feels guilty so he has to do what he's doing. What happened to im a villain your a threat to my plans I'm going to lure you in so I can kill you and then move forward in plans.
I love the Animation of the RE Movies if Nintendo wanted to make a Metroid Movie of course I'd want it to be Live Action but if not they need to go with this type of Art Style.
*I don't care what anyone says, i LOVED the Milla Jovovich movies.* They were poor 'adaptations' to Resident Evil but, they were outrageously Fun action movies in their own right. Every one of the movies felt like a 'Big event', seeing where they'd take the nutball story next, and Milla Jovovich was a pretty decent Protagonist in the series. The casting for Jill, Sienna Guillory, is the Best Jill Cosplay of ALL-TIME! Well, all except part 6--- that's the one Truly Bad entry in the movies that can't be defended. However, Live-Action Resident Evil 1-5, were Glorious!
I thought they were crap, with only the first one being watchable. It's not that they barely have anything to do with RE, it's just that they were incredibly poor movies overall. Don't even get me started on continuity errors, or should we say lack of continuity.
Also while Leon's hair is perfect, he needs one liners. "I'm sure you guys didn't tag along to sing kumbaya together." And Chris needs to punch a boulder.
Degeneration was the only one that felt somewhat canonical to what was happening within the Lore of the games. Everything after felt more like an afterthought, but were still a guilty pleasure, I agree.
I love RE0, its my second favourite in series after RE1 Remake. And I love Rebecca - I was pretty young when I played RE1 Director's Cut, so Rebecca - as Chris' teenage sidekick - actually appealed to me. Same as Yuffie in OG FF7, Sakura in Street Fighter, Tails in Sonic etc - the teenage sidekick character was always my fav back then. Now as an adult, Jill is my fav. That said, I read somewhere that the creator of RE DOES hate Rebecca as her inclusion in the game was Capcom mandated to tick that "teenage sidekick to appeal to young players" box, and he hated how unrealistic it was that this police unit largely formed from ex-special forces would have a 17 year old university graduate as a member. And I suppose he's right - but I still loved her.
Resident Evil games have been on an upswing with 7 and 8 being the best stories we've seen from the game series in years. It's a shame we can't get that level of writing for the movies, which have to condense the plot to something generic.
I might be alone on this, but the best Resident Evil, has always been the first one. Sure, it's clunky and whatever. But it was the one that had mistery (you didn't know what was going on), the best atmosphere (music, camera angles, etc), it had that "crazy scientist does weird sh*t" vibe, which is way more interesting (imo) than the supermegaultrapowerful corporation. The diaries were meaningful, they gave you information about what happened, not about what is about to happen (like in the rest of the series). I still remember the lines "The doctor has said that I won't need the suit anymore". And the biggest plus: The whole thing reeks (in a good way) to B-horror movie.
I love the CGI movies so much. They are silly, have the original RE cast and are full of fan service. And as someone who grew up with RE, it's just great to be able to accompany the RE1 and RE2 characters on their journey - especially when Leon is around. :D My RE eye candy.
Do you ever think about how any game engine can be more than a game... A game studio? Cartoons...Music videos can be made as plug and play DLC. As long as the voice files are you own and not a studio's files you can sell it legally.
RE0 was my most played re game growing up, I personally liked the item system. Just made more sense, and REs had a similar option on harder difficulties that all the item boxes weren't connected so you had to go back to a specific one. Do wish the movies would be less "RE6" with the over the top action. I actually really liked the first one they did in the airport. But you were spot on with this movie
This is amazing. At the time where he is talking about the head movements while talking and waiting for the animation to kick in takes me back to when I was playing Horizon Zero Dawn and as I was watching a cutscene I noticed the robotic animations used in convos. It immediately took me out of the game and I couldn’t do anything but laugh and cringe after that.
The best thing from one of the 3D Movies (Might be Resident Evil: Damnation) were the nemesis units at the end. They were really fearsome. Since then: A Resident Evil movie without a Nemesis unit isn't a Resident Evil movie.
Literally crystalized a eureka moment for me. Never played a single second of gameplay. I only ever watched the Jovovich films, one or two of the CGI movies (I only remember one of them because Ada Wong fights a giant martial arts woman for...reasons that don't matter except for the fact I was a 13-year-old boy). For some reason I've watched gameplay story runs for most of the more recent releases. The emotion I feel encountering Resident Evil media is the same thing I felt watching Sharknado 1, 2 and 3 with my dad. There was an implicit silent agreement that we understood exactly what this movie was about and why. It's so...strange to finally understand my relationship with RE was all along.
Evil scientist/ weapon dealer gets a hold of Tvirus Mark 100 Chris or Leon takes mission Special girl important to plot Zombie fight Chris or Leon meets up Ada shows up She screws them over Zombie fight Weapons dealer/ scientist reveals themselves and explains plot and needs special girl. They all fight Chris super punchs while Leon flips. Kills main villain They win They convince special girl everything will be alright. Ada completes her mission or gets stopped by Chris or Leon The end.
Idr which CGI movie it was but the scene where Leon and Chris are clearing the hallways of Zombies looked like two high skilled players playing RE6. That shit was so cool lol.
I feel like the whole point of dead island was to infect the main cast with the upgraded T virus and now their aging will have been slowed like Jill’s has, so now they can continue to use them without getting too old looking
*pushes nerd glasses up bridge of nose* Well, actually... Code Veronica latter half takes place in Antarctica. lol, but seriously, you are 100% correct. Great video as always.
since they started making them to tie into the games around 5 and 6 i've been watching them. pretty sure the first cgi movie was included with RE6. every couple of years a new one drops and i insta buy lol. honestly i love all things RE even the cheesy live actions. i'm deeply invested in all the lore and the goofiness has always been a part of it regardless, but the action is always badass.
A couple weeks ago a friend of mine wanted to watch this movie for his animation studies course he's taking. It was the 2nd time i've seen this movie and he had to keep pausing it every couple of min to just point out how many scenes were so badly animated or that certain sections were just completely different\wrong than what was shown mere moments ago. Was pretty funny as a "so bad, it becomes good" sort of film. xD
You know, the music, in theme reminded me a lot of one of the songs in the Picross games (Logiart Grimoire). The four note piano ascension (is that what it's called?) came up a lot in the game. It's the default song so you can probably hear it in any video of the game.

The final scene took place in an armory. They said so in the movie. Hence why it has every armament it does in it.
That tie and vest combo are fire. Well done.
It's always so hard the first time you truly internilaze that something you like is objectively trash and yet you still like it.
don't think i could drink from that mug. nope nope nope.
I actually noticed the music pretty early in the video. I was trying to figure out if it was from something. It turns out it's from right here. Pretty good work.
Thanks for that!
The last life action was awesome!
It's underrated
Watching it gave me the "how I felt as a Lil boi playing Resident Evil 1" vibes
Didn't Resident Evil code veronica visit Antarctica?
You are right. I meant locations they haven't done in the films yet.
All of the movies are a guilty pleasure to me. But lets just say: there‘s a lot of untapped potential.
Agreed. Let's hope they keep making more and tap into that potential.
I watched it on Prime almost as soon as it came out. And it was pretty damn good! I loved seeing all the classic RE heroes from 4 all assembled there in that final fight. I'm also happy it served as a sequel to Vendetta, tying up one final loose end.
My dad actually liked the CG Resident evil movies. Whenever a new one was announced I made sure to let him know.
I liked your environmental music background. It put me in a creepy place because you were talking about a creepy topic.
It would be cool if Chris and jill ,were on a airplane that went down ,and they had to jump out ,landed some where that the T virus was released, and they had to survive with little ammo, fight zombies, bring it back to the classic games, not be a counterstrike. I still love RE 4
Eh how they handled Jill is a disservice i feel thats the weak point
It feels weird, right? It seems like they have no idea how to write her character so they made her an angry, mopey girl boss.
Just don't let Illumination make it that'll be a Death Sentence.
ooohhh this is my favorite video you've made by far!!!
Thank you Sungrad Studio. I will watch it tomorrow
You should do video game lore videos for the games you've made or your favorite ones, you have a good format for story telling
The 2021: Welcome to Racoon City is the best live action rendition.
I haven't watched it but it looks cool!
JUST DORKIN HARD, LOVE IT.
Such a masterful narration!
I love the CGI movies so much. They are silly, have the original RE cast and are full of fan service. And as someone who grew up with RE, it's just great to be able to accompany the RE1 and RE2 characters on their journey - especially when Leon is around. :D My RE eye candy.
Oh no, Shadow works for Umbrella Corp? I guess they did always want to make the ultimate life form...
I will not stand for this Mila Jovovich slander. I shall don my shiny white armor and defend milady! This is war! 😂😂
I only read the RE0 guidebook years ago. Never played the game. It shows a timeline of all the events, that happen in the first game.
12:36 im my moment of distraction I heard BMW which made this sound even funnier.
For the record, if you ever want to really sell this style costume and go all in, I know how to fit a suit over a tactical vest. My treat.
The people who make these movies: "Quick! Write that down write that down. Isolation. This is good stuff."
It's so...strange to finally understand my relationship with RE was all along.
one of my favorite scenes is the gun-fu one with chris and leon. shits awesome.
Evil scientist/ weapon dealer gets a hold of Tvirus Mark 100
Chris or Leon takes mission
Special girl important to plot
Zombie fight
Chris or Leon meets up
Ada shows up
She screws them over
Zombie fight
Weapons dealer/ scientist reveals themselves and explains plot and needs special girl.
They all fight
Chris super punchs while Leon flips. Kills main villain
They win
They convince special girl everything will be alright.
Ada completes her mission or gets stopped by Chris or Leon
The end.
Idr which CGI movie it was but the scene where Leon and Chris are clearing the hallways of Zombies looked like two high skilled players playing RE6. That shit was so cool lol.
You forgot the part where for some reason Chris and Leon have to have a fight to show who's the "best" at fighting
You are right. How could I forget that? Even though they sorted that out years ago.
I feel like the whole point of dead island was to infect the main cast with the upgraded T virus and now their aging will have been slowed like Jill’s has, so now they can continue to use them without getting too old looking
"My poor Maria was killed" and it was then that the villain revealed himself as Dominic Santiago .
In my time, the best Ressie Eville movie would have been South Park, when Eric Cartman and his crew take on the baddies! 🤣
wish I have leon's hair
you can take a bath, sleep, go on fights or go skydiving and shit doesnt need any fixing
*pushes nerd glasses up bridge of nose* Well, actually... Code Veronica latter half takes place in Antarctica.
lol, but seriously, you are 100% correct. Great video as always.
20k views only 2k likes. Come on guys! always hit the thumbs up. He goes the extra mile to bring some of the most fun vids.
since they started making them to tie into the games around 5 and 6 i've been watching them. pretty sure the first cgi movie was included with RE6. every couple of years a new one drops and i insta buy lol. honestly i love all things RE even the cheesy live actions. i'm deeply invested in all the lore and the goofiness has always been a part of it regardless, but the action is always badass.
Whats truly impressive is at least the CGI films resemble the actual game where the live actions
...should not exist.
