    I like how Jason changes the tempo and mood of his videos each time out. Sometimes he’s funny and cartoonish, and sometimes (like this time) he’s more subdued but still very clear and informative. Plus he’s very educational overall and in a way that is carefully thought out and unique from other creators. Being conscientious of people with smaller budgets as well and doing a video like this shows he’s got his mind out for all of us.

      @@kouleeofficial Have them both. Overall I prefer the ergonomics and ease of use of the a7IV. Everything from EVF to external controls are easier to work with. I like the a7cII but am still getting used to it. Previously had the a7c and found it difficult to use without the performance of the a7cII so it was sold. The a7cII has the A/I chip and better stabilization but it also loses the 1/8000 shutter for shooting with f1.4 lenses and has a much lower synch speed for flash and lacks dual card slots. I can't tell the difference with the A/I chip. For paid work definitely the a7IV. But I do like the novelty and compactness of the a7cII. Footnote- to get the most out of compactness of the 7cII you'll need the 28-60 pancake lens which while OK, does not deliver professional quality results.

    Great video!
    My primary cameras (besides my iphone) are the RX-100iiv and A7rIV. I started with an a6400 and have always loved that form factor. My primary issues have always been lack of buttons (forcing you to use menus) for fast moving situations and the grip being hard to hold for long times.
    However this a6700 seems to, in my eyes, solve a lot of the major things I was looking for that would guide me towards something like an A7Cii. If I wasn't already so in love with my a7riv I'd probably seriously be looking at the a6700.

    I shoot alot of street and action photography. I recently bought the a6700 to upgrade my ancient a6000, & I also shoot a full frame. With the 759 focus points, .02 second focus acquisition, and instantaneous shutter (shutter lag? what's that?), I'm getting a higher hit rate and overall sharper photos. The articulating screen is also useful for capturing radical angles on the street. Absolutely love it - except for the new bigger battery, which isn't coming even remotely close to the stated 750 shots.

    • @collinsal1433
      @collinsal1433 3 місяці тому +1

      Really it depends if you want portability or not. If yes, go with the 18-50 as it’s lightweight & small…but if you want that extra reach and don’t mind carrying around a bigger lens, I say the 17-70. I was debating between the two and I have the 18 to 50 for my Fujixs20 and I like it, but for the stuff that I do like shooting Weddings and some sports the 17- 70 was just a little bit better for me!

    • @macessz
      @macessz 3 місяці тому

      My biggest problem with the Tamron 17-70 that I heavent seen in reviews is that dust gets inside of it really fast. I had dust in it after 1 month and after 6 months I can see a lot of particles on my photos. It starting to get unusable for videos. Even if I take care of it and watch out for it during shooting, dust just still gets inside. Also there is a weird vignetting effect in the corners at 50-70mm at wider apaertures that Lightroom just cant remove. Even the built in profile correction in my a6400 cant remove it, only Capture One was able to deal with it really well. The vignetting effect is a bigger problem on brigth or plain images like walls or sky, but its not noticable on busy pictures or darkers shots. Its th worse at 70mm at f2.8 and gets better at F5.6 or lower focal range. In my case dust screws this lens up quite fast and makles it really bad for long term use and for video work.

Main perotity Photography and occasional video making ( mostly for Content creator on social media ). Also how was 7artisan lens paired with sony bodies.

    Thanks for another useful video. Own several cameras including the A6700 and A7CII. Trying to keep my travel bags light. Did go out on a limb and by both the TTArtisan 27/1.8 for its super small size and the Viltox 27/1.2 for its great optical quality in APS-C. Do wish Sony would do a modern updated pancake lens targeted at 28mm full frame focal length for both APS-C and Full Frame. Take care.

    I changed to the Sony eco system years ago for the stabilization and focus when I developed essential tremors in my hand. First the A6000 then A6500 and now the A6700. It really works well for me. I just got the Sigma 18-50 and have the 16 & 30 1.4 Sigma primes. I also have the Tamron 11-20 F2.8 for interiors / landscape and their 28-75 for a little reach. I thought about 28-200 but I could only use it on a tripod with my tremors. I do have overlapping lenses but don't want to part with any right now. I kept the 6500 for when I want to use 2 lenses at a time. Also have a ZV1 which is so compact and great for travel. 😁😁 I don't know if I should be thanking Sony, Sigma & Tamron or if they should be thanking me.

    Great vid! I'd love to see a direct comparison between the a6700 and 35mm f1.8 and the a7cii with the 50mm f2.5. Nearly identical size weight and focal length so would be really interesting to see aps-c at f1.8 and oss in the lens vs FF at f2.5 but better in body stabalisation. Can't think of another aps-c vs ff setup comparison with sony that's so directly comparable!

    I have the a7IV, but looking into more compact/lighter cameras for travel. I'd say the issue with getting an a7C is that the full-frame lenses are so much bigger and heavier than the APS-C lenses. I would prefer something cheaper, and smaller/lighter still than the a6700, but the a6700 really does have a lot to offer. I feel there'd be very little drop off in both video and photo quality from the a7IV (actually probably no drop off in video).

      Like I mentioned at the end of the video, the a7C II is great but is at a higher pricing bracket. If you can afford it, definitely go for it! The a6700 just has a much better value imo it has all the same features for way less. Quality-wise it will be different because of the sensor sizes.

  • @gordon3988
    @gordon3988 3 місяці тому

    I thought it was going to be the s9! The Sigma 18-50 seems like a great choice for the 6700, weather resistant and relatively small, so likely fine with a gimbal for smooth video.

      You'll get better photos from the A7C2 and Tamron. If video is important, just buy a compact APS-C lens, like the Sigma, and 4k video will still be excellent. The A6700 is an excellent camera, but the A7C2 is a similar size.

      Oh if you have the budget for it then I would HIGHLY recommend the ZV-E1 if you do a lot of videos and find yourself in low light often. I've done plenty of photos with the ZV-E1 and they are great - just make sure to check for banding in your photos if you shoot in front of LED Lights. 🫣 The a6700 is just more of a budget hybrid camera over the Full Frame choices.

    I own the a7iii and I want a second camera in case of emergency. I do occasional photography and some paid work, but do it most for fun.
