I just swapped from the Nikon Z6iii to Z8. HUGE improvements, much better IBIS, none of those weird harsh wobbles and no weird flickering in the shadows. If it had a flip screen it would be THE camera for you 😉 Keep up the awesome videos, I love your sense of humour dude and I have a suspicion my girlf is warming up to you too
The trick with Fuji IMO is to use Provia indoors, and Astia outdoors. Provia needs a slight yellow push to balance out the reds, and sometimes more contrast (which you can get from "color chrome"), or the shadow tone curve. Astia is usually yellow-ish, I add red or blue depending on my mood/scene. The red hues are off however (needing an adjustment to avoid pink-ness), but the blues look great. If you want a softer image drop sharpness and increase noise reduction - set to "0" I frankly think its already too much. Sharper image, do the opposite. Oh ya - "proper exposure" is best - none of that "raise shadows" crap. OR, use one of the DR modes. Good luck. Also, if you have an X-H2S and you're NOT using the 150-600, you are missing out.
Wonderful 👍 You not only got the perfect camera but ,4!! Seriously congratulations for finding the perfect camera or camera's. This channel no longer needs to continue what's next?? Happy gobble day! Oh wait you're not American as apple pie. Happy maple leaf day!
Spicy take: When I watch camera comparisons side by side (on camera channels), it's incredibly easy to pick my preferences. When I watch literally any other content, I never think about it. I sorta quit caring.
I think everyone should own more than one brand or at least 2 cameras to benefit from each brands strengths. Your latest cameras are among the best values of 3 of the big brands. Thanks for a great channel.
C70 is a bit pinkish skin tones on my colour calibrated monitor, but its a nice image, Nikon looks shockingly perfect skin tone colours, maybe too saturated if anything.
I don't see everyone's fascination with the C70. I prefer the new LUT on Nikon but that could be all the red and the fact that it's the Christmas Season!
That C70 shot was perfectly exposed and colored. I thought I was at the movies watching a Tarantino film with popcorn on my lap and a speed booster in my left pocket. Just beautiful, you should never shoot on anything else again. This should be the C70 Channel.
I'm an indie filmmaker, so the image quality is very important to me. I have the C300 Mark iii which has the same sensor as the C70 and I love the image I get.
The C70 has the best dynamic range and image quality by far. I'm waiting for that wildlife test with the RF 100-400. The color looks a little red, though.
To me, the new Nikon LUT had the best look... not C70. But again.. we really have to see the look on the same lens and frame to compare... it means nothing otherwise. I would just buy one standard lens for IQ comparisons (say EF 50/1.4) and then buy a whole bunch of adaptors for different systems. Then you test IQ with that using Manual Focus and test AF with corresponding system lenses. That's the best way to do the test IMHO. :)
Damn thr highlight roll off on that c70 is insane!!! The image looks so good, the skintones are so good, fu Kasey, i don’t even have a channel and i want to buy one…

Honestly i think the C70 is one of the best cameras ever made. Just like you, whenever i saw a side by side with literally anything i'm like C70 looks better.Outside of Arri and Red Maybe it has the best look of any camera
@@mostlymessingabout gh7 has it as well and all cameras with this tech have something special about their image. The dual gains give some kind of richness normal sensors dont have. Its hard to describe.
Hey I absolutely love your show. Thanks for doing it all these years. I've got a old Nikon 300mm F4 (the old one with integrated telescoping hood and low element count) and I want to use it with a micro 4/3 for birding. Which one would you recommend? Budget is $2k for a body.
The Fuji and the Nikon (with Red LUTs) look by far the best for talking heads. I have XH2s, but I do cinema and stills, not vlogging, wildlife, or street vid. I love its look with all my heart. Worth investing in computer hardware that can denoise its shadows in Resolve-would cost less than swapping the Fuji for a camera with better DR. I use the Sigmas 😂 The 18-35mm Art has character, colors that go nicely with Pro Neg Stnd, and maybe a little pop, but the 40mm T/1.4 Art pops nicely while still having a bit of that cinematic compression
The most important reason to use a camera is enjoying using it. If you enjoy looking at it and shotting with it, then it is a great camera unless it is heavily crippled.
Have you ever messed with the Nikon menu option about the IBIS being tied to the autofocus point? I noticed that on my Z8 the other day. I wonder if it would fix the stabilization for video.
Try using ACES when color grading. Works better for flog than the fuji luts and I can imagine that nikon and other systems would also look different, more correct?
I'm sorry you fell for the 35mm 1.4 hype. I think the 35mm f2 actually has a more vintage rendering. For some reason, every youtuber disagrees with me on this. The "character" that they talk about on the 1.4 is the curved focal plane that puts a frame around a central subject. Also, when engineers measure for dynamic range, they don't consider noise at all. The measurement is determined by how much linear structure (a.k.a. detail) is preserved in the shadows and highlights. You can have lots of detail and lots of noise simultaneously.
I think I Like the look of the Nikon the most. But i am very interested in the Look and dynamic range of the C70, could you make at little cinematic movie with the C70? 😍📸 Thank you for the excellent flow of content you have been providing lately 💪❤️
There's so much red on the C70 image that Nikon lawyers are filing a lawsuit for violation of their partnership I like the X-H2S image, looks filmic... Not at all related to it validating my purchase
To my eye the C70 is too pink. Probably could be adjusted. For the X-H2S, were you shooting F-Log2? That's where the dynamic range is at. I haven't experimented with F-Log2 C yet, but have been seeing good things about the color DR on that. I find Fuji's noise actually pleasing to the eye, unlike other systems (though Sony is super low noise, so no issues there). For the Nikon, that's disappointing about the noise. I used a 1st gen Z6 outputting to an Atomos and the shadows always looked like sludge. Stopped using that for video entirely. Was hoping that Nikon had improved on that. Hopefully the latest generation does.
Panasonic is better for me. But in this video the Nikon looked much better than the Sony, the colors and details weren’t too sharp and digital. I’d use the 2 newer Nikon out for different situations. You’re sleeping on the Fuji😂 I love how it looks.
considering you dont need camera for photography, Sony zve1 or a7siii with better colour grading skills is the only camera you need. for hybrid option video and photo, xh2s is hard to beat, but for more money I think canon r5 m2 is amazing.
00:3703:4807:3312:32 Seems to me that you have some images that have crushed blacks (sony, nikon and fuji). For my eyes at least that wouldn't look natural and colors would hardly be natural too in that condition. So, maybe bring the shadows up a bit on those images? But that aside, regarding skin tone: Sony seems good, colors are somewhat neutral, Nikon is far too orange, Fuji seems a bit red, but not much (looks good), Canon for my eyes seems to have a uniform "red film" on top of everything, doesn't look too good overall, but the skintone itself is ok, a bit red too.
Oh boy...i just bought a ZV-E1 based on your previous almost rave reviews and now it doesn't even make your top 2! It's OK, almost pretty good for what I do with it😆
Hi Kasey. Great and interesting video, as always. I watch on my 80" Samsung TV in 4k. I'm not sure what you colour balance on but ALL the cameras make you so red in the face except...the Sony you hate the colours on. So weird. I even calibrated my screen to cure this... no joy .. so I adjust the red out to make it just barely acceptable. The trouble that this trashes every other video I watch. No matter what the source! I now have a Kasey colour profile on my TV that I turn on temporarily for your show..... 😂
The Sony ZV-E1 is the best camera, by far! It's the smallest and it gathers the most light with least noise because of the 48MP pixel binning sensor (binned pixel size = 8.4µm)! The Canon C70 is second, and it also has 48MP pixel binning sensor (with HDR) and binned pixel size of 6.2µm. With the 0.71 speed booster, the Canon C70 can gather even more light than the ZV-E1. I have been talking about speed boosters for years, and that nothing can beat APS-C sensor with a speed booster. The same lens performs better on a APS-C with speed booster, than on Full Frame! Conon is the only company that makes a speed booster. It's about time Nikon/Sony to wake up! If the Canon C70 had IBIS, like the ZV-E1, and it was as small and light as the ZV-E1, it would have been the perfect camera!
The Sony 48MP quad-bayer sensor gathers the same light as any other full frame sensor. In high speed modes it's half that because it only reads half the pixels each frame. The real advantage here is it's speed and no need for line skipping. Very good for video but many other Sony full frame sensors have more dynamic range. I couldn't find a single source for the Canon C70 being high MP, and 48MP doesn't even make sense because it's not a 3:2 sensor like the Sony. I'm calling BS. The Canon C70 has a DGO(Dual Gain Output) sensor, which is a different technology and way more effective than 4x4 pixel binning. With the speed booster, it captures about the same amount of light as full frame. But it's always slightly less because of the extra glass in front of the sensor. Speedboosters are not a magic trick and they only allow the use of older lenses with a longer flange distance, like Canon EF or Nikon F mount. On top of that you have an extra electrical connection, likely more play and sag with heavy lenses, a forward shift in balance and just more points of failure in general. All of which can be avoided by using a faster APS-C lens or a full frame sensor. And Canon may be the only company that makes a native speedbooster, but other speedboosters existed long before that.
Kasey, Thank you for all the great videos you’ve been sharing lately! I’ve been following you for a long time and really enjoy your content. I was wondering if you could please make a comparison video between the Fuji 35mm f/1.4 and the Sirui 33mm f/1.2, tested with and without the filter you use to soften the Fuji lens. Thanks so much for considering it! Looking forward to your next upload. 😎✌🏾
Every time I read the ZVE1 reviews someone is crying about it overheating. Does your ZVE1 overheat in Canada? What about the Southern part of the United States where it is 90 degrees or higher for 3 to 4 months of the year?
I think the c70 image looks really good, but the Fuji is really nice close seccond. Sony colours do look a bit funky, Nikon is much nicer with that. My ranking from this is c70, xh2s, z6III, then ZVE1 in terms of just look. However that nikon 40mm still looks odd to me, maybe better for photos
C70 & EV1 are too orange. Fuji, oh man where do I start, is there something wrong with your camera, to me it looks bad all around. From this video, I prefer the Nikon, it's the more "natural/realistic" to my RGB eyes lol, I did watch this on Two calibrated monitors, 10bit OLED and 10bit VA, both native 4K, whatever that matters 😄

5d Mark ii pure colour science
Just like needing four pairs of chopsticks 🥢
A Sony ZVE1 with an EVF would be my dream come true for wildlife slow motion.
That’s 7SIII❤
Do the helios in front of some foliage, you still haven't showed the swirly 3d pop goodness 🤣
you need an OM 1 mk ii to be a true critic between systems
I miss my X-S10 but not the lack of lens compatibility and adaptability.
Fuji looks best. For sure.
😎✌🏾
I don't have it.
@cameraconspiracies Fuji Tears 😭
Notifications gang checking in 😮
Only you could pull off a 4 pixel vlog, with 3d pop.
Kasey, hows the Nikon z6iii AF in comparison to Sony?
Very reliable, nowhere near as smooth or accurate.
@@cameraconspiraciesif you could compare it’s AF to any other camera, which would it be, just so i get a rough idea of how good or bad it is?
Every time I read the ZVE1 reviews someone is crying about it overheating. Does your ZVE1 overheat in Canada? What about the Southern part of the United States where it is 90 degrees or higher for 3 to 4 months of the year?
No never.
❤ what about the pocket 3 I know you have one too.
C69 is the best
C70 & EV1 are too orange. Fuji, oh man where do I start, is there something wrong with your camera, to me it looks bad all around.
From this video, I prefer the Nikon, it's the more "natural/realistic" to my RGB eyes lol, I did watch this on Two calibrated monitors, 10bit OLED and 10bit VA, both native 4K, whatever that matters 😄
