In a TV interview, Lara Fabian said they were rehearsing and at a pause, Aida looked over and said, "Hey, if I have to run out for something, he can sing my part." She then burst into laughter. Lara and Dimash joined in.

They all started laughing, and everytime they looked at each other, they started again and had to call a break to calm down! Saw her in a tv interview when she told this and so tickled, everybody there was laughing.
What else we can say after this performance? It is absolutely beautiful , they are perfectly harmonized, their voices are astounding !! Aida Garifullina is the Prima Donna of the Viena State Opera. This whole concert was on the occasion of Igor Krutoy’s (the pianist and composer of all the songs in the concert), 65th birthday celebration. All the artists Igor has worked with over the years, took part. The whole concert is amazing! Dimash also sang a duet with Aida called Ulisse. Dimash sang 5 songs. Lara was very ill, but you can’t tell can you? She was just amazing!

I watch the whole concert every day, love it.

I will provide below some more context to this amazing trio performance but let me start by saying that you just scratched the surface of Lara’s insane vocal skills and range thru your previous reaction to Je suis malade. In this song she was all about interpretation and voice agility. Dimash is an absolute fan of her since henis a child and covered 6 or 7 songs from her or that she performed before him.
Now let’s talk about this Ti Amo Cosi performance :
Let me give you some info on this incredible trio and event:
- Igor is there as an overall lead because the event is built for him: this is his birthday event that he organized with all his favorite artists, the ones that he is used to collaborate with
- this is not the first time that Lara sing this song (composed by Igor) in trio but the third time: she performed in the original version with Dmitriy Hvorostovsky and Alina Yaroyava then again later with Dmitriy and Sumi Jo, before this new trio with Dimash and Aida. The song was composed from day one with her voice in mind. She has been collaborating with Igor for more than 10 years and he has told from her that she is “the best singer and the best songwriter he has ever worked with”
- this also explains why the song does not exposes more of Dimash’s upper register: it was written for the late Dmitriy who was a pure baryton.
- Lara was very very sick, with strong medication but she is skilled enough to have made it unnoticeable
- it was the first time Dimash met his idol Lara: look how quickly he turned to her, despite he has not finished his duo section with Aida 😂 And how he looks at her and hold her after it …
- Lara is the most comfortable in italian because it was her first native language even before french: her mother is italian and while born in Belgium she spent her first 5 years in sicilia before returning there
- look how dimash slightly adapted his vibrato to better match Aida or Lara
- also there is a debate about the final note, held for such a long time, with the conductor looking at Igor and Igor smiling:
Did they make a prank to the singers by extending this last note? Or did the singers instead played with them? I personnally think this is more option 1 😀
- and I forgot to add that Lara has been classically trained for more than 10 years at Brussels Royal Conservatory and still continues to receive voice lessons at least on a weekly basis. And she has sung many times opera pieces or with opera singers.

btw: i tend to option 2 "let's continue", with the conductor nervously asking with his eyes for help when he can (or should or may) stop the orchestra and Igor knowingly smiling that they can do whatever (i have seen Dimash and Lara hold notes for much longer, and assume that Aida also is not "short breathed"). or maybe it was only a bit difficult to synchronize music, singing and all the action on ice to gracefully end together at the same time.
Of all Lara's qualities, one which is seldom mentioned, is her perfect diction in any language she sings.

Ja bih bio jednako začaran tobom i da ti čitaš vremensku prognozu ili izvještaj s burze, jer ja samo tebe gledam, vidim i čujem i onda za mene počinju problemi jer...naravno... moram nekoliko puta ponoviti cijelu snimku da bih bar malo pogledao i druge osobe. Zbog navedenih razloga (opet) sam razgovarao s Bogom i on je prihvatio moju tvrdnju da si ti najlljepša žena koju je on ikada stvorio i imam njegovo čvrsto obečanje da će u nekoj od slijedećih reinkarnacija voditi računa o mojoj zaljubljenosti u tebe! Dakle....bit ću strpljiv,! Let me tell you that Lara was sick that week, the night before she told to Igor (The Master and her friend since 2005) that she would probably have to take a shot of morphine to get heal faster from pain and a strong sore troat. Dimash was present in that moment she told Igor, there's a vídeo of it... Then, Lara really took a shot of morphine minutes before that performance, she also performed more 4 songs at that concert, even though she was feeling very sick. Thank you for another reaction. 😊 Hugs.

Truly a wonderful, and beautiful collaboration. Someone pointed out a subtlety that I missed, saying that Dimash matches the frequency of his vibrato for Aida, and then switches to match that of Lara, so that they are synchronized.

I usually add especially something that might have overlooked or that I feel should be mentioned. However, this time, I think you've covered most or all the necessary. You are right, it's really that one would find a trio blending and singing so well together in a live performance. I may be wrong, but I get the feeling Lara more than Dimash and Aida this time was steering the second half of the performance, especially in order to keep the balance. Hence she was also the one to indicate exactly when to stop that last note. Still, three of the world's best singers together delivering a stunning performance of such an outstandingly beautiful musical composition.

Good afternoon from warm and sunny Thailand. I am responding to a comment you made in a previous video reaction when you asked if Dimash has any recordings of his voice of Mozart, Donizetti, etc. I don't know of any but I have an opinion as to why he may not have! Like you, I would be very interested to hear something, though not "Nessun Dorma" or "O mio babbino Caro" that have been done to death by so many existing and past opera Singers but even more so by those in Talent shows. I have heard some wonderful renditions over the last 50 years but if he does anything, I would like to hear it, so I/we don't feel obliged to compare with those mentioned. There is also a matter of how he might put his own special mark on an aria that might attract those who would criticise if the original score or "arrangement" was perceived as challenging its integrity and intended musical message! In any case, Dimash might easily have decided he doesn't want to go "opera", though as we know, he might even show us that there is an even wider audience out there who are dedicated opera buffs for whom a breath of Dimash fresh air, I think could deliver a little something new in that genre!

I always enjoy your reactions and insightful analyses. This was a live concert in Moscow for Igor Krutoy's 65th birthday celebration. The whole concert is worth checking out. He has composed music for and performed classical and contemporary music with renowned singers, such as Anna Netrebko, Dmitri Hvorostovsky, Aida Garifullina, Andrea Bocelli, Lara Fabian, Alla Pugacheva, Irina Allegrova, and others. As you probably already know, he ended his retirement after watching one of Dimash's performances so that he could compose music that only someone with Dimash's vocal ability could sing, such as I Miss You, Ogni Pietra, Your Love, Passione, Ave Maria, Stranger, just to name a few.
You are already familiar with Lara Fabian and Aida Garifullina. For those who are not, Aida Garifullina is a Russian lyric soprano of Tatar origin and, in 2013, started performing at the Mariinsky Theatre, St. Petersburg. That same year, she took first place in Plácido Domingo's world-renowned, prestigious International Opera Singers Competition "Operalia" in Verona. That led to an offer to join the Vienna State Opera, as well as to a contract with well-known British record label Decca Classics. Since then, Aida Garifullina has been the voice of the Vienna State Opera. She regularly gives recitals in Vienna and London and appears in joint concerts with opera's greatest stars all over the world. Her performance with Dimash of "Ulisse" from the same concert is also incredible.

This remarkable performance took place in 2020 at a Gala concert dedicated to the 65th anniversary of Igor Krutoy, which was attended by Russian world and Olympic figure skating champions, as well as invited performers of the maestro's works.
By the way, this star trio managed to meet for the first time at this evening, as everyone has a busy tour schedule. There was only one rehearsal in the morning before the concert. Aida Garifullina joked before the performance that if she urgently needed to leave, Dimash would perfectly cope with the role of soprano. :))) At this evening, Aida and Dimash performed another composition by Igor Krutoy "Ulisse".
I love this song too! Although I love almost all of Dimash's songs, and especially his beautiful crystal clear high notes, I I think I may enjoy his classical voice the most. I would be very happy to hear more of it! "Ulisse" (a duet with Aida) is also lovely. Having said that, if you haven't reacted to "The Meaning of Eternity" please do! It is one where Dimash's crystal clear high tones along with some beautiful disappearing notes are on display.

Let’s not forget the gorgeous melody that is the product of Igor Krutoy’s genius. That’s why this song is so beautiful.
This is a piece that he wrote specifically for an opera baritone, an operatic soprano and a female pop singer. It is written for three voices, with harmonies notated too. The singers are performing according to the composer’s direction.
I believe this was originally written to showcase Lara Fabian many years ago. This isn’t new.
Watch the late, great Dmitri Hvoritovsky singing this. It’s because Dimitri passed away (of a brain tumor) that Igor chose Dimash to continue this tradition. Many great sopranos teamed up with Dmitri (who had a gorgeous timbre). Lara sang with all of them.
The song reflects one woman losing her man to another woman. At first she moves away, but she returns to fight for him. And he - can only give what he can of himself, as he loves both women - each separately, “like this.”
Really, Igor’s melodies can make one weep and I appreciate his genius tremendously.
This is truly an utterly lovely rendition and I return to it quite a bit 🎉❤

The way Dimash matches his vibrato with Aida and Lara is incredible, In the last note you can hear he adjusting his vibrato while ascends the tone (in the lower part of this melody line he matches Lara's vibrato and in the end on high matches Aida)

I think on the last note Aida could have not tried to be such a star. Dimash is a wonderful colleague and doesn't try to sing above the other singer. Here Lara doesn't have such a strong voice and she kind of got lost. Aida wanted the attention with that hand, I do like her very much but I didn't think she was so kind here. I love this performance. There is another fancam video and it show Lara from the back. Dimash has his hand so sweetly just barely touching her. He has such admiration for her for all his life. It is very touching if you can find it you should watch it too. Just look up Ti Amo Cosi fancam
Lara didn't get lost at all, you could hear her perfectly clearly in the middle at that last belt. And I don't think Aida was overdoing it at all.
@@frankbirch3877 we shall have to agree to disagree. I like Aida very much but here she for sure wanted to stand out. Easy to do with an opera trained voice. But that hand in the air at the end, she wanted to be the star. Lara doesn't have that powerful of a voice. Dimash could have out sung them all but didn't because he was part of a trio, not singing alone. And those dresses she wore for her performances, come on! She couldn't even move in the one she wore in Ulisse. It was very well done until that last note. Whether intentional or not she wanted to be a stand out.

👉 The lady in white is Aida Garifullina, *1987, a Tatar from Russia, world-famous opera star and Prima Donna at the Vienna Opera (Austria).
The lady in black is Lara Fabian (*1970), also a world-famous singer, songwriter from Belgium and a great role model for Dimash. Even as a child, Dimash wished to be on stage with Igor Krutoy and Lara Fabian one day ... and here the dream came true.
This event took place on the occasion of the 65th birthday of Igor Krutoi (here pianist) in 2019. Igor Krutoy, *1954 in Ukrainian SSSR), singer and songwriter in Ukrainian, Honored Artist and music titan in Russia (billionaire). He is a world- famous composer who came out of retirement to write songs for Dimash. The maestro and Dimash have been working together from time to time since 2018. They are friends and have a father-son relationship.... Can there be a nicer birthday? So far, Igor has composed several songs for Dimash and many songs in 30 years for Lara Fabian and other singers. Most of the songs in this concert were by him.
Lilia Vinogradova wrote the grandios lyrics and is known as a permanent co-author of the composer Igor Krutoy, with whom has created wonderful works in the crossover genre. They created the cycle for DA Hvorostovsky, albums for Sumi Jo, Anna Netrebko, Yusif Aivazov, Lara Fabian and others.
When she asked why she did it in Italian, the poet replied: “First, Italian is by definition the international language of music, the language that allows the vocalist to open up as much as possible. This is the best language for singing...
And secondly, I. Y. Krutoy and me have a well-established tradition of writing most of our works in Italian when creating in the crossover genre.”

For clarity, perhaps the author's implication was that of Russian classical vocal training having produces the type of sopranos with greater warmth than the average soprano would, considering Russia has some 195(yeah) ethnicities of various geneology. Perhaps, Aida's being en ethnic Tatar (same as Zarina Altynbayeva btw) may have a lot to do with their tembre (if not everything). Then again, there's Netrebko; but who even her being an ethnic Donskaya Kazachka. Tatar same as Bashkir people generally stem from an asian ethnic group and are known for their well above average natural vocal abilities having typically rich and soothing voices. This perhaps could explain the special texture/tembre that Garifullina and Altynbayeva possess.
