When you're apologizing for rewinding the video, don't forget that the vast, vast majority of people watching your reaction to a video, particularly by someone like Dimash, have already seen the video, and probably multiple times. I don't think any of them are going to mind having to watch the particularly wow-worthy moments another time or two (or three or four) :) I know I don't mind - it's great seeing your appreciation for his talent!

Video is 19min already... You are listening it for the very first time. What kills - how can one chop and kill a song and her/his first experience with this stops and rewinds on so random times. 19min - pay a tribute, listen fully first time - them be kind to explain everything you've just experienced. Pfff...

Hello, I’m from Brazil! For those who like information about Dimas' songs: The story behind this song is very interesting: The band that accompanies Dimash is the same one that composed the song, without the singer who died after a heart attack! The band is also from Kazakhstan and this performance by Dimash revitalized the song. In addition, the final part he added, with an oriental technique. The song was originally performed in 1998 and the band's name is A'Studio (Russian-based Kazakhstani pop music group, "Alma-Ata Studio", city of Almaty). The dead singer (to whom Dimash was a fan) left the band in 2000 and passed away in 2015 and his name was Batyrkhan Shukenov. The lyrics are by the poet Ilia Reznik together with Baigaly Serkebayev, who is the keyboardist with long hair, which we see in the video accompanying Dimash.

yes, his tongue is moving...someone said it's because his face/mouth is so relaxed his vocal chords are moving it...sure I didn't get that exactly right and the original does not sound like this, Dimash himself redid it, so the hum was him. Ty for the lovely happy reaction ❤️❤️💛💙🇰🇿 and the arabic sound was a sort of prayer/dedication for the original lead singer of the band he's playing with who has passed away❤️💙💛🇰🇿🤘

I agree-it really sounds like he’s still in head voice clear up into the 6th octave. (If you really want to hear OBVIOUS whistle from him, listen to his duet with Li Yugang, singing Drinken Concubine/Diva Dance, or Unforgettable Day. ) And every time I hear this song I start feeling like I’m getting blue when he finishes that long run-I think I hold my breath when he is singing.
Great reaction! I love seeing singers and vocal coaches react to Dimash because ya’ll know what it takes to do what he’s doing.

If you turn on the subtitles and watch 'till the end, with his interaction with the audience and band, that will give you an indication of his personality. The pianist in the group (A-Studio) wrote the music to this song. The man in the white shirt standing in the front row, composer/promoter Igor Krutoy, had organized this concert of A-Studio songs performed with guest vocalists. This group from Kazakhstan had a following in Russia, and then their singer died. It has been said that the glottal stop effect he used was similar to one performed by Kazakh women at funerals, and therefore referred to the death of the former singer. After this, Dimash and Igor Krutoy began their collaboration, first with Dimash singing arrangements of Krutoy's older songs, (some of which were written for Lara Fabian), and then with songs like "Stranger" and "Ogni Pietra", and "Your Love" (with lyrics by Lara Fabian).

  • @lovesyoutube8591
    @lovesyoutube8591 2 роки тому +48

7:22 I think he added a bit of oropharynx (+/- laryngeal) contribution to the vibrato, which pulled at the root of the tongue, which was completely relaxed - added a bit of extra emotion to that verse. 13:42 - You are right, it`s head voice, Dimash can handle 6th octave in head voice + flageolet up to F6. His whistle notes only begin in the 7th octave, E7, F7, F#7, G7. And they`re clearly disconnected mechanism, they`re very distinctly whistle. Here`s a guy (actor-singer-coach) who didn`t know men had head voice, let alone flageolet, and then studied it, and realized they do, and practiced flageolet himself, and after 2 years he can now reach C#6 : ua-cam.com/video/I8Hj5lM7m0c/v-deo.html - he talks about Dimash`s and sopranos` high notes, about the mix of head voice and flageolet in different proportions, about how training head voice and flageolet is a very useful exercise for men. A soprano also said in a reaction video that Dimash has a very nicely trained head voice :)
14:23 - that I heard it`s called "caprino"- "you jam your larynx in one spot, and then you slam it with a bunch of pulses from your vocal cords" as someone put it :)) - that part was added by Dimash as a mourning vocalize, in memory of the lead singer of the band A`Studio, (on the stage with him) to whom "Sinful Passion" actually belongs to - the lead singer passed away in 2015, at age 52, and Dimash appreciated him very much, so when he was given the chance to make this cover of their hit song, he incorporated that as a tribute to the original singer.
That last glissando belt + runs + riffs - was in one single breath - 25 seconds 😁
His concerts are awesome, but he plans them really well - power songs in the beginning, then alternates between more and less demanding songs, leaves the stage 3 times to change and let other people sing (a guest, one of his backing vocalists etc), takes breaks to talk to the fans, to play instruments; constantly drinks water on stage etc. The concerts last ~3h, but the last 30 minutes he introduces the band, has fun with his percussion guy, plays drums etc. After the concert - total silence, doesn`t even speak for a while, to give his vocal cords proper rest.
Since you liked this performance, check out (for fun, not for a reaction) these 2 even awesomer performances of "Sinful Passion" :
---"Sinful Passion" in 2019 solo concert - ua-cam.com/video/YJElGH2hquw/v-deo.html - you get to see the huge arena, and people almost fainting in the crowd, when he goes into the second half of the song 😁+ added cute bow at the end of the song (plus this link has english subtitles for the awesome passion lyrics :)) )
--- in another solo concert - ua-cam.com/video/uxLhwfFFUQs/v-deo.html - up-close fancam of exceptional quality, visual and sound ; Dimash is in freestyle mood throughout the song + adds a different little bow at the end, with an awesome mic technique.
    Enjoy 😊

Dimash is the best singer in the WORLD and there are no doubts about that, his voice is a prodigy of nature and a genetic marvel since his parents are two glories of singing from Kazakhstan since he was 5 years old, he sings publicly and has more than twenty years of lyrical training and graduated from the university of music, he is a singer, composer, arranger and multi instrumentalist, he plays more than seven musical instruments and sings in more than Ten(10) languages, he is also a great performer and a great artist who lives and feels music He is not an imitator of voices , Dimash has his own style and is one of the forerunners of the "POPera" he also has a very pleasant, HUMBLE and simple personality, easy access, which makes it very easy to follow, he always travels with His family and friends is a very educated person and an example to follow, he has become known for his musical talent not for getting into trouble or scandals, It has a very wide vocal range of approximately 7 octaves ,he is a singer with a wide vocal range very versatile is Baritone, TENOR , Soprano, counter TENOR, mezasoprano, everything at the same time is how to have 5 singers in one, it has a male and female voice, also many resources such as vibrato, "melismas", falsetto, Staccato, whistle tone, reaching a( D8 )live "Outside of Piano"at the concert of Gakku in an unforgettable day, at his young age he continues to improve and grow musically to perfection, he has a good physical presence he measures 191 cm or 6 "3", he is very famous and recognized in Asia and now he is becoming known In Europe and America, ALL their songs are spectacular, it always goes from low to high, soft to spectacular at the end, in my almost half a century of life I never heard so much quality and it is the hope of continuity of the classical genre because all the old tenors have already Almost all of them died and Dimash can sing like them but none of them can sing like Dimash, being a Man he sings better than any Tenor and his female voice is superior to that of any average Soprano, greetings and a hug from USA 🇺🇸 "Dears" Forever ❤️ Sorry for copying and pasting my informative comment in ALL the Video reactions to Dimash what I see but I do it with the intention of sharing information about him and what I think that in the music industry there are many artists who have been successful and have no talent and are bad people and they do not set a good example for the youth, Dimash and his music deserve to triumph in America, Europe and the whole WORLD, do you want to have already read my comment please come by without problem there is always someone who for the first time knows this information and I won't get tired of sharing it with all my friends"Dear" around the world, thanks for reading and for supporting Dimash 🙏🏻S.O.S. He is doing this in concert for hours in a row - he has his whole Arnau concert in his homeland (before the pandemic) on his YT page with subs - ua-cam.com/video/hKk3QPxzQCE/v-deo.html - nearly 3 hours of one demanding song after another, singing dancing and talking, with thousands of people in the audience - at least a third from all around the world. It was huge but strangely intimate as well with his grandparents, a tribute to his deceased friend, his little brother accompanying him playing the Dombra... by the last song he obviously was running only on the energy coming from the crowd he was completely exhausted and still did not miss a note. A little few reactors have done the a review of the whole concert (in parts) but it would be nice with someone who really has the knowledge behind it.

His tongue was indeed moving/vibrating. You can also see him do this in other performances, like at the 3:30 timemark during his performance of Ikanaide (which you should react to next).. If possible , I recommend watching all his performances on a very large TV screen. A computer screen, especially a laptop screen won’t cut it when it comes to Dimash. Because especially if you want to see close up of what he does with his tongue or throat , the biggest screen will be your best tool. And when you watch this performance and also the Ikanaide performance that I mentioned, on a large screen, you’re going to see clearly how his tongue vibrates at some points even when his mouth is barely open.

One vocal coach identified the section with the fluttering voice as "caprino", a technique that should normally be avoided in classical singing, but that is part of some ethnic singing styles, and present in the Kazakh singing tradition.
Another vocal coach regarded the 24 second phrase in one breath with the slide, and the crazy soul-like melismas as "the best 24 seconds of singing ever sung".
I agree with you that the highest note in this piece was still head voice / falsetto, about the highest he can get in this register. To hear Dimash's whistle note, you have to watch "Unforgettable Day" or "Drunken Concubine + Diva Dance" in a duet with Beijing Opera singer Li Yugang at the Shanghai Spring Festival Gala.

I hadn’t realised you’d only heard four tracks. Can I suggest a couple for where to go next?
Olympico - operatic tour de force (use Arnau version from Igor Krutoy’s channel)!
Unforgettable Day from Gakku- his own composition, heart warming audience interaction and you’ll hear his whistle. And you are correct that he was in head voice in todays song.
Diva dance - Bastau. The unsingable song from the movie 5th Element, created to be beyond human abilities. Hmmm. Well, many believe he’s at least part alien so 🤷🏼‍♀️.
Samaltau - Tokyo Jazz Festival. Kazakh folk song. Stripped back, two musicians and himself in a studio, unbelievably beautiful vocals.

It's not exactly native to Kazakhstan, even if this type of singing exists in many ethnic regions around the world (look up yodeling on Wikipedia).

His jaw is so relaxed his tongue vibrates with the addition of vibrato, his larynx and mouth control is extremely well adapted and consistent. I forget that it's live sometimes it's so good.

That's what I think his high e6 was probably his head- flageolet kind of voice and not a whistle note and I ve heard his whistle notes like e7 , F#7 , G#7 , C#8- D8 .

Bonjour. Bravo.🥰

  • @RustyHeartsTOV
    @RustyHeartsTOV 2 роки тому +4

A whistle register is usually disconnected from the rest of the voice. Dimash is mostly using flageolet for his higher notes.
I can only speak for my voice (I'm a male too) the flageolet register feels for me like a bridge in my voice. My head voice starts to fall apart on a b flat. That's where I have to thin it out and use the tiniest bit of air and raise the soft palate even higher to get space. There isn't much leeway to play around with air in that area otherwise you're vocal folds will not close properly.
It's hard to explain but I can definitely feel the difference between head voice and flageolet and I definitely have to work to blend it when I play around with glissandos.

About that comment about him being tired. Watch the concert he did in N.Y. about 2 1/2 hours in and he asks the audience if they're getting tired. He said he wasn't tired at all. It's nice to be young. I was tired from all the emotions I was feeling. Just incredible and so you know you still haven't seen his deep baritone yet.

What I really like in you and what you have in common with Dimash, is your humbleness! While you clearly have A lot of knowledge of singing!! I just Enjoy watching your reactions so much, thank you! And I agree, it is AMAZING how Dimash van give his three hours concert with all those grazy difficult and demanding songs, giving his all, not to forget jumping around, dancing! I saw him live in Düsseldorf/Germany in april 2022! Lucky me and I cannot wait to attent one of his concerts again!! Kind Greetings from this Dutch Dear.

Fact: Dimash does whistle on seventh octave most of the time, he is so comfortable with high head voice on sixth octave. His whistle starts from E7, F7, F#7, G7, G#7.
F6 E6 are still in his head voice so you’re right!
Also, he does mixed up on C6 too! 😊
Thanks for your informative detailed analysis! 👏🏻

For a beautiful look at the sheer range and versatility of Dimash, and the unique Beijing/Peking Opera style I can't recommend Diva Dance/The Drunken Concubine duet he did with Li Yugang enough! It is a true masterwork of blending styles and Dimash's beautiful ability to integrate and still stand out in collaboration with other stunning talents.

🌷🌷🌷🌷💕💕💕💕💕 Me too. I’m sooooo impressed by the fact that all those acrobatics, from the upward slide, the explosion on top, to the downward melismas, all of those were done on just one breath!!!’ I gasp for air every time I listen to this…
No reactor ever noticed this: at the end of this clip, after Dimash thanks the band, etc… the camera pans over the audience and we see a little girl standing on her seat with a look of total amazement in her face, between shock and ecstasy … I often wonder about that little girl. What impression did that live experience of an historic performance leave on her. How did it change her life… here we are, adults who have seen it all, and we are floored by a video clip of it in UA-cam. What did it do to this child?
