I find it easier to remove the 2 bolts holding the suspension leg and then the bolt holding the cv joint and the bolt holding the tied rod and I pulled the knuckle out and the axle shaft came out
If you want to lower the control arm just get a rope, tie it around the end of the control arm near the ball joint then take a long bar or board put it through the loop of rope under the control arm and push down. This will disengage the control arm from the ball joint making it easy to get the axle shaft out of the hub.
