Bro I must say we need more videos like this as it related to the basic problems of the xc90 models of 2007-14 or even earlier && beat part is you made another video describing the issue of the driver shaft axle! Keep this VOLVO VIDEOS COMING! #SupportDIY
About to do this to my XC90, hope it goes well, you make it look easy ! Other cars I've had , there was not enough space if you didn't pop the tie rod ends
@@samgrieg ATF goes around the part of the cv that goes into the transmission. The metal seal that I popped in is supposed to keep the ATF out of the cv. Somehow it loosened up and it all went down from there.
Dude, sorry but you say a little bit of tension on your brake lines, but not too bad, or something to that effect (without sayng specifically that you had removed the brakes) Are you kidding me? You should always hang up your brakes to take tension off the lines. This is essential brake mechanics 101.
You missed the part where I show that cap in the transmission side of the cv popped loose and transmission fluid went into the axle where it’s obviously not suppose to be.
Why wouldn't you video removing the CV axle? I'm watching this video to know what to expect before getting in to it. And I see someone on here commented they having a hard time removing the driver side CV axle.
I had recorded a video about how to remove the cv but it turned into something else so I guess it didn’t get that part in there. You can use the cv like a slide hammer. You push it in and yank it out and it’ll pop out of the transmission.

I’m glad these videos helped but………. I sold my Volvo a few months ago.

If I remember correctly, pulling the lower ball joint will give you enough room.
I’ve never seen anyone replace a drive axle with a Model B-9 robot arm. Sweet mod!
Domo arigato misuta Robotto!
Awesome video. Thank you.
Is it oreillys parts? Im having this issue now tje whole boot popped off and bearings fell out..bought the CV july 2023 from Oreillys
About to do this on my '12. Any suggestions? Any other videos you have that show the actual removal even if it isn't the focus?
I had a video on it but wound up making this one instead. Sorry.
Engine mount gone on bk of engine causing early failure of shaft
I have been working on my Volvo XC90 trying to remove cv axle driver side but it is not coming out from the transmission any suggestions?
A ball joint separator works as a good lever. That’s what I usually use.
Are you saying that transmission fluid is supposed to be inside the CV axle, but just not leak out?
No, only grease is suppose to be in the cv joints and nothing is supposed to be in it.
@@ProZacksProjects so why did ATF get inside the axle in the first place? Bad seal inside the transmission case?

@@ProZacksProjects Thank you for explaining 🙂
@ProZacksProjects has to be the parts from O'Reilly for you, I have same issue, my transmission is dry, and might be shot..lawsuit type of stuff
You’re not showing what the torque is post to be at

You’re right, I got lazy and should’ve done the right thing. I appreciate you commenting this.
@@ProZacksProjects I'm going to sub based on your humility here. Good on you.
Took me about 35 min lol
Your video is completely misleading. That rubber boot does not fix leaking transmission fluid are you kidding me?
