Nice, to-the-point vid, appreciate the simplicity. Only question I have is the 4G connections since I will be using it on mine. from what I understand, wiring that antenna is probably the biggest pain depending on where you mount it. I don't want it anywhere in my line of sight so I assume I have some headliner work to do on mine...which I'm not looking forward to. Will know in a couple of hours!

There is a cable that plugs into the back of the screen with 2 USB ports. What is that for?

I noticed that you didn't unplug the battery during the replacement, and everything worked fine. I have heard of people running into errors/issues after unplugging the battery. can you confirm @Anthony?

Nice Video - been thinking about doing this on 14 X5M. Does the mapping work from phone/android app or does it still use the BMW mapping program - or maybe option to use both?
The Avin will allow you to use both systems, you'll be able to switch between the 2 as needed. Installing mine today on my F85 X5M.

@@ram07ish Pretty great so far. Although this week all of the sudden the audio from NAV (Google Maps) switched from the Avin small speaker back to the OEM system so my music cuts out when the turn-by-turn comes on. HATE that! No idea why it switched, nothing's changed in the settings & the only thing I've added in the last couple of weeks is I downloaded Google calendar to the device.
Only other minor thing is an occasional lag with maps picking up my location when I first start up the car but most of the time that's because my car sits in the garage that has 2 floors above it & it can sometimes sit for 2-3 days at a time. I'm using the Avin- provided gps antenna & it's mounted at the top of the windshield right next to the rear view mirror. Thinking about going back to the OEM fin by using the included splitter but not sure it's worth tearing everything apart & reinstalling for such a minor issue. The only time Maps just stuck & wouldn't pick up my location to start the directions I just killed the app, pulled out of the garage & started it again.
Next up is solutioning a permanent OBDII connection so I can run my logging & tuning apps Bootmod3 (BM3), BimmerCode, Torque & Carly on the unit instead of a phone or laptop. Would like a direct cable to USB as opposed to the delay of a WiFi obd adapter.
