Pines are on the list for this weekend! Not too many to do, but just need to find the uninterrupted time to get to them . . Thank you for the reminder!
Beautiful trees mate. I wanted to ask if you could do an in depth "how to" for radiata pines. I have a leggy one about 3/4 foot tall but I dont want to ruin it. Any advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks David that was helpful - but would you also prune back / or decandle extending branches of younger 3 year old JBP thickening in the ground with a sacrifice leader or lower areas to build girth? Or just let them grow vigorously uncut for a season or 2? Cheers Mitch
@@TheMitchellHarris i would let sacrifice branches grow untouched however if there are branches I was planning for the future then I would definitely be styling and shaping those.
Nice job David keep up the good work my friend thanks

Thanks for the reminder legend! Just went through and cleaned my 1 JBP 😅
Impressive trees David
This was timely David. From memory you treat Radiata the same!

@@andrewclack4881 I’ll be working on my Radiata soon and will video the work. Essentially though I treat the same as Japanese black pine.

about to kick mine off tomorrow, are you plucking needles back to 8-10 pairs approx?
@@danielsantini4342 only reducing areas where there are too many needles compares to other areas.
