Fisherman's Bastion - Halászbástya in Budapest, Hungary.

Instead of showing the motorcycle ride + the bastion in the same video, I'm splitting them into two different videos otherwise it would be too long. Video of my ride home from the Fisherman's Bastion will come out later, be sure to check it out.
The Fisherman's Bastion is, in my opinion, second in beauty only to the parliament which we can also see from afar in this video, but it is for sure my favorite spot in the city if I had to choose one to visit.
According to Wikipedia, the original walls of the bastion were built in the 1700s, forming part of the walls of a castle. Several historians say that in the Middle Ages this part of the castle walls was protected by the guild of fishermen (halász), who lived under the walls in the so-called Fishtown or Watertown. The current structure was built between 1895 and 1902, in Neo-Romanesque style, on the base of a stretch of the Buda Castle walls, by architect Frigyes Schulek, who was also responsible for the restoration of the Matthias Church.
Matthias Church is the one seen in the video at the top of the bastion, it was believed to have been built around the year 1015.

Em vez de mostrar o passeio de moto e o Basti'ao dos Pescadores (Fisherman`s Bastion ou Halászbástya) no mesmo vídeo, estou dividindo-os em dois vídeos diferentes, caso contrário, ficaria muito longo. O vídeo do meu passeio de volta do Bastião dos Pescadores sairá mais tarde, não deixe de conferir.
O Bastião dos Pescadores, na minha opinião, perde em beleza apenas para o Parlamento, que também podemos ver de longe neste vídeo, mas com certeza é meu local favorito na cidade se eu tivesse que escolher um para visitar.
De acordo com a Wikipedia, as paredes originais do bastião foram construídas na década de 1700, fazendo parte das paredes de um castelo. Vários historiadores dizem que na Idade Média esta parte das muralhas do castelo era protegida pela guilda dos pescadores (halász), que viviam sob as muralhas na chamada Cidade dos Peixes ou Cidade das Águas. A estrutura atual foi construída entre 1895 e 1902, em estilo neo-românico, sobre a base de um trecho das muralhas do Castelo de Buda, pelo arquiteto Frigyes Schulek, que também foi responsável pela restauração da Igreja de Matias.
A Igreja de Matias é a que também vemos no vídeo no topo do bastião, acredita-se que tenha sido construída por volta do ano 1015.
