Very timely. I’ve been praying exactly for this, more awareness of what I need to confess and the ability to be sorrowful. Our Lady brought me to you guys after I put on the miraculous medal and it’s been so enlightening. After the consecration series now I find the Advent retreat. Thank you for helping on my spiritual journey.
A great video on catholic confession. The priest that gave us my husband and I, the sacrament of reconciliation, sadly so, passed away in August. Now we must get to know a new priest that has replaced him. We miss him very much M. Joseph Dubé. R.I.P. With the Father, Jesus and The Holy Spirit. We have met the new priest and he is very kind also. I find priests to be very understanding and caring.Thank You for your video, very encouraging.God Bless everyone!
Please pray for me brothers and sisters and ask Our Heavenly Father in the Name of Jesus and through Mary's intercession to grant me the grace of true sorrow and contrition for my sins. I have continually relapsed into habitual mortal sin and have become hardened in my sinfulness. I cant make a good Confession I dont think because I am lacking sorrow. So please offer some of your daily penances and sufferings for this intention. I would appreciate it! As St. John Vianney said, if he offered his penances and sufferings on behalf of the poor sinner that came to Him God would soon forgive him/her because his/her ransom had been paid. Thank you friends!
Thank you Lord for this message, just what I needed to hear. Please kindly include me in your prayer Ken, Janelle and my brethren in Christ. I am discerning a religious life and please pray for my mother too so that she can fully offer me to God. It was quite difficult for her at first but through prayer and fasting she’s starting to accept it. I know there will be more oppressions and struggles but God and the Holy Family promised me that They will be with me althrougout. But I know with your prayer for me and for all the children of God there will be more to be called to this vocation. Thank you and united with you in prayers🙏
I think the video title is a little misleading because only 1/3 of it is actually talking about lack of sorrow in confession....However "Confess by faith and not by feeling" is a much needed message. Thank you & God bless
Thank you for this retreat. I would have loved one of my children to go into the religious life because I always tell them they can help be the change in someone life Even in school I told them that. Do the right thing
In my spiritual journey, I've come to understand that our "feelings" should never be the focus. When we're too focused on how we feel, what we should feel, or why we don't feel, we've become too self centered. And this is exactly what Satan wants, because this way we fail to contemplate God, and we cannot be transformed into God by grace, so that we live not but He liveth in us.
Thank you for this beautiful message. I have struggled with this and I pray to continue to go to confession to seek God's Mercy. I love the background noise of your children too.
As a Carmelite nun I can say so many people mix up the people with the doctrine. People are faulty and commit sin. But the Church’s teachings never change. It is the truth. It is a good sign when people oppose our vocations. It means God will do great things through us for His Church.
“There is no forgiveness of sin without sorrow for sin. This sorrow is of two kinds: perfect contrition, which is sorrow for having offended God because He is so good in Himself; simple contrition or attrition, which arises from some less perfect motive than the love of God, such as the fear of hell, the loss of heaven, etc. Perfect contrition is not necessary for the Sacrament of Penance. An act of attrition is sufficient. As the following questions relating to sorrow for sin often trouble scrupulous souls, they will be here briefly answered. Is it necessary to feel sorrow? The act of contrition is an act of the will resolved not to sin mortally. It in no way consists, therefore, either in affectionate regret or in tender feelings in the sensitive part of the soul. A dry, but firm and sincere act of the will is all that is necessary for contrition.” Father Doyle SJ
As a Catholic I think that sorry for your Sins are very important. Don't dwell on them but it's sincere when you realize your Sin. I had a problem with masturbating and before I was a Catholic. It was normal and many around me said it was healthy. But when I realized that it was not healthy and a Sin. I did feel sorry for the fantasy I entertained with women. And I am free now of the spirit of lust. Without being sorry for your Sins how the Lord Jesus Christ can forgive us? Like I said before after you forgive yourself and learned from it we can let it go! And the truth will set you free
This is a truly good video with some truly good Catholic truth messages! I go to Confession practically every week. My first wife died on the 21st of January of this year. Much has happened since that sorrow time. Please pray for my fiancee that she gets cured of Covid -19, Delta variant serious illness and conditions!
@@Catholicspeaker Thank GOD and the most Blessed Virgin Mother Mary and blessed St. Joseph; and the entire celestial Court of Heaven - angelic and human! Thank you, Danke Schoen, Cpociyvat!
@@Catholicspeaker I thank GOD for your prayers for my fiancee and me, Ken and Janelle Yasinski, and I thank you too! My fiancee texted with me over Skype and she told me that she is getting better! I sincerely thank GOD, the Holy Family, and the entire Celestial Court of Heaven, particularly the specific saints whom I prayed to for this! I ought to thank the two Catholic Priests of the local Prince of Peace Catholic Twin Parish, and the other people whom I asked to pray for my fiancee to be cured of Covid - 19, Delta variant viral serious illness and conditions!
You guys are the best - confession by faith when your heart is hardened .... thanks for always keeping it real and relatable to people like me :) God Bless!
The realization of your Sin is the first step for healing. Sometimes our Sins are deeply rooted ( could be created in a very early stage in your life) to go to confession doesn't mean you are immediately free from it but the message is that you need ask Jesus Christ to be close to you and ask if he help you to heal your Sin. Everytime you are about to repeat your Sin ask Jesus. My dear Jesus Christ I need help from you because without you I can't do it Heal me from this trauma, pain and so on. God is testing you but knowing you can do it. You need to surrender completely to the Father God. And you will succeed. Good luck my friend and God bless you eternally ♥️✝️
Lord help me to love You for You. Help us to grow in love under You. I love You. I wish to grow in your love and to only serve You out of love and not fear of my salvation. Never let me be encouraged by spiritual progress or gloat about being Holy. Help us to remember to pick ourselves up out of despair with Your help Lord. Let us never forget our brothers and sisters as we struggle in spiritual warfare, but to serve and love them truly, willingly, and joyfully under You O God. I pray that for the sake of the salvation of sinners and for the sake of Jesus' suffering our will is fortufied to choose You and only You.
Speaking of topic great books from a previous video. What books would your recommend? And may make a good Video. I have a collection that I jump back and forth. But I want to get the book you reference during advent. "ST. Alphonsus" it's look thick and can see it's filled with riches. You Hold the book up so I have been review you great videos. PS. I'd recommend doing occasional interviews, That was great content your interview about COVID was rich and I agree with it whole heartedly. Prayers, and Good bless.
I have a concern regarding entering into religious life. What perspective should one take if a person who sincerely yearns to get into a particular order of religious life but receives no guidance or encouragement from that particular order. Although parents are open to it nothing seems to move on a positive direction. Please advice.
May Jesus Christ bless you and your family. I have an issue with Janelle . She speaks so fast , very different to understand . Since I am from India , May be one reason . Do not take it personally.
Most deceptive in sin is sin cerity. Many sincere people and sickly sweet. They be so out of touch with this world. They go back to saint's centuries ago and even part's of their Bodies . Nonsense no sin in any Body of Christ.
Hello Ken. I've noticed that you never cite scripture. Only Catholic "saints". You can probably tell that I am a Protestant. Protestants always cite God's Word. Always. In fact I've also noticed that Roman Catholics in general don't know or study the Bible. I come from a Catholic background and live in a Catholic country. I know what I'm talking about. You don't know what you're missing. It's God's literal Word. " All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 And... If I was a Roman Catholic, there's no way I would want my son to enter a Catholic seminary. You should visit one or two before recommending that to anyone, especially your own son. What you will find there will shock you.
Wow…very judging. You are way off base and rude. Just because you quote the Bible, doesn’t mean you know it….and you certainly don’t live the words. I WAS Protestant and can quote you scripture BUT like most Protestants, it’s taken out of context.
Hi Rolando, I'm a practicing Catholic who lives deep in Baptist country in the south of the US. I can tell you if I tell anyone anything about being Catholic I better have a decent knowledge of the Bible, apologetics, and Catholic teaching. I would get destroyed if I didn't. I agree more could probably be done in study of scripture but you can't make generalizations like this in a majority Traditional Catholic comment section. Prayers, Elizabeth
