Splitting the existing market segments into smaller niches, hopefully creating a product w/ the least amount of competition which will make their products unique to as many consumers as possible, thereby maximizing the co's. profits for shareholders until the next new model introduction cycle. As an ex., Panasonic single-handedly created the "travel zoom" & "enthusiasts" P&S market segments.
Definitely the 3N. The F3 was last generations NEX camera. It has a much more compact body and a few more features than the F3. Although, you do get a lower resolution LCD screen compared to its predecessor but to be honest, you'll hardly notice the difference.
Yes you can. When in MF the ring becomes manual focus and the rocker switch on the bottom becomes the zoom.

hey buddy, i saw the spec was low resolution for the LCD? are u ok with that while previewing picture and taking picture?
Its decent previewing and composing photos but obviously not the best.

Definitely. It's great cause you can also flip the screen up to so you can see yourself.
