Eat two eggs with cheese, Turkey sausage and either zucchini, coleslaw, or steamed broccolini for breakfast. Eat meat and vegetables with a creamy sauce made with butter and cheese for lunch. Eat a light dinner such as a soup or salad with chicken for dinner before 7 pm, 8 pm at the latest. Walk in place for 30 minutes at a slow pace. Sleep at 9 pm in a cool dark room. Put your phone away from your head, no scrolling on phones and SLEEP 8 hours. Wake up in the morning and look at the sunrise and do stretches (Pilates or yoga is great). Eat carnivore as much as you like. Not having an appitite should show you your unhealthy. Most fat people lack appitite because digestion isn't working. Happened to me too. We need to increase metabolism by eating the correct food and let body heal and work better. When the body is healthy it will let go of excess fat.
When our son was 4, we took our family off all sugar and noticed a profound difference in his-heck, all of our- behavior. We then went to the Feingold diet and couldn't believe the changes. After cleaning our entire family up, we went to a birthday party. Sometime into the party, I turned around and was mortified to see my son had grabbed a party bag-all sucrose and corn syrup-and was chomping away as if he had been starved for days. You had to see it. I'll never forget that image, but it would make a believer out of anyone who can't comprehend food as an addiction. And I'll disagree with this, "It's not your fault" lie. It is. We aren't victims. We can change it.

@@felipejotz7054 It takes a while. Your liver is likely fatty and dumps stored sugars to hold where it is at. It will probably take several months. It helps to stop eating early, for most no food after 5 pm, but I stop eating after lunch, most days that means noon. Exercise before bed to use up the blood sugar in your body before sleeping. I do a 30 minute ski type exercise machine, but when I was younger I would jog a mile. Berberine is a useful supplement to help slow your liver's sugar production. Don't expect to see significant results for at least two months, your body resists change and you have lots of stored energy. Good for times of famine but not for times of plenty.

What can you do if your insulin always stays high? I'm eating 1000 cal/ low carb (under 20g) I checked blood ketones to verify ketosis before doing labs. My fasting insulin was 15. I've been doing low carb for many years to prevent further weight gain. Insulin has never been under 11. I'm stuck at 195 lbs. Also walk over 10k steps a day.
It sounds like you are doing everything right. A low carb diet is definitely the way to go. However, if you are still seeing no change I recommend contacting your GP, just incase you have an underlying health condition.
I read a summary of a few studies recently that found walking straight after you eat can help increase insulin sensitivity. This is because it forces the glucose in you blood from eating into your muscles, so your body doesn't have to produce as much insulin per meal. One study specifically compared general walking versus walking directly after eating and found that while walking in general did have some effect the greatest effect was from walking right after eating. I would also ask, you say you eat 1000cal at 195lb, are you feeling hungry? Leptin and insulin are linked, so if you are always hungry your insulin isn't going to go down. Even eating low carb be sure to eat whole foods or at very least minimally processed. If the food has anything in it that came from a lab, or is "food derived", I would avoid it. I dunno, though, I am just starting to try these things, so I can't give any anecdotal experience. I hope everything works out for you 🤗
They are referring to fasting INSULIN level, not glucose. The ideal number is about 5. Near 10 is beginning of insulin resistance. Doctor generally do not test insulin level.@cosmicHalArizona
Why do we want to slow down the absorption of carbs when we have D1M: Adding protein and fat to the meal ensures it’s satisfying and slows down the digestion of the carbohydrates.
The fitness industry hates the insulin approach. I believe the insulin approach and the calories in calories out approach can coexist. Intermittent fasting and foods that don't spike your blood sugar is the best approach.
I'm watching from Australia and understand what Dr Bikman is saying. However, he doesn't talk about low glycaemic index (GI) foods, which slows the carbs entering the bloodstream from the intestines and reducing the insulin needed for that meal. There are low GI fruits and high GI fruits, for example. Most fruits from decidious and citrus trees (eg. apples and orange) have a low GI whereas tropical fruit are usually moderate to high GI. Does he know about the GI? We educate reducing carb intake but carbs being lower GI and having higher protein and fats (pref MUFAs). I have had people reverse prediabetes to normal A1c, due to weight loss and increased resistance training (for increased muscle mass). It worries me that these high protein diet are going to lead to possible renal problems later in life due to increased work the kidneys need to perform due to excess protein intake. Is there any studies regarding this issue?
Me and my hubby have reversed our diabetes by eating carnivore, my hubby was on a quick release x 3 shots a day and one shot of slow plus pills, he has stopped all insulin (last shot yesterday morning) and is between 5 and 9, only when we eat carbs does it go up higher…Prof Ben has stated that type 2 diabetics should NOT be treated with insulin therapy as it hastens their demise 😮my hubby has been injecting for at least a dozen years, we have also lost over a stone in weight and other health issues are improving and we only began Aug 1st 👍🏻
I cannot believe that I’m hearing about fibre😂 being on the list for helping lower carbs. (Only because of my latest experience in loosing weight). I have 30 more pounds to loose and it didn’t come from eating fibre (which made me hungry) it came from eating Ketovore. Cut out all veggies and it’s finally working!! ❤
I have watched the whole podcast. I’ve watched tonnes and tonnes of Bickman. The guy interviewing has written a book based on eating fibre. This clip in my belief is cherry picked. Bickman says OVER and OVER if you’re going to eat fruit eat whole fruit. Limit vegetables. Make animal proteins and fats your priority. He even says fibre is not essential!!!!! Bickman is a seriously low carb advocate.
You need to listen to the interview again. Dr Bickman says avoiding processed carbs because this keeps up your insulin levels (low fat - high carb diet) up. He is advocating high fibre intake from natural foods. He even says that dairy doesn't have fibre but you need it. You can reduced your carb intake but increase protein and fat in the diet. He talks about vegans becoming calorie deficient, and lose weight, but also nutrient deficient. Why? Because they are eating less calories and stop eating the processed crap on the supermarket shelf.
Not sure what you thought you needed to correct. What I said echoes what Bickman recommends No processed foods/seed oils. Lots of animal proteins and fats which includes dairy because that comes from animals. Limit vegetables, have the lower carb variety and make meat dominate the plate. Don’t drink your carbs eat fruit with the fibre. He does not promote a high fibre diet.
@@Tee667 you said that Bikman said fibre is not essential. He never said that here. He never said here that he doesn’t promote a high fibre diet. He said to eat fruit and vegetables and fill up on protein and fat to curb hunger. I’m talking about what he said here not elsewhere
@@luisv007 respectfully, I’ve listened to probably 100 lectures and interviews combined, as well as his own channel. There’s a world of difference between a HIGH fibre diet and an animal based diet with fibre on the side. He absolutely does NOT recommend a HIGH fibre. Fibre is not an essential part of a humans diet, it’s not essential for optimal health. It interferes with gut function if eaten in large amounts and consistently, causing leaky gut for many and that’s for starters. This is stated by him (perhaps not in this video) along with a plethora of people. It’s very easy for you to find this information out for yourself. I was stating what he is more broadly noted as saying from his own mouth.
I have a question for ben too fiber ? what fiber... tought they were saying fiber is not good.... for intestines.. !? Iam so lost...heard you talked with dr berry chaffee nd more about fiber not being good for intestines and that we dont need fiber !? now what is the deal with fiber ?
25 to 35 grams of fiber from healthy whole foods each day without lectins, too many oxalates, or lots of phytic acid will help gut microbiomes. Sugar and starch should be avoided. Fibre first, then protein, then starch and finally sugar is the correct order if you cannot avoid sugar and starch. So veggies and then eggs. Organic pasture raised eggs and organic veggies only. No A1 milk protein, A2 has no lectins. Fasting is key but has to be approached in a safe AND sane way.
Our bodies simply were not designed to run on carbs. It's like taking a car designed to run on gasoline and putting diesel into the tank. It will run, albeit poorly as long as there is some gasoline still mixed in. But, when you get to pure diesel, its going to stop running.
I'm virtually pure carnivore. Only eat 1 cup of berries a day, so 20g of carbs tops. It doesn't matter, I'm still hungry, but I'm exercising alot. I just ignore it. Now that I don't have blood sugar crashes from not eating, being a little hungry is no big deal. I'm losing around 4lbs a week in weight currently and its not muscle.
@@camarorules1 fibre works because it helps to build a healthy gut flora. In addition, fibre can help you feel fuller and helps dilute and combine chemicals that flush out of our bowels and reduce the risk of cancer. There are two types of fibre, soluble and insoluble. Soluble fibre, for example, helps to slow the blood glucose rise after eating foods, because it takes more time for sugars to diffuse from the intestinal lumen to the bloodstream. Insoluble fibre helps to bulk up the stools, making it easier for the intestine to move the waste out of the bowel. I wonder how often those on a carnivore diet move their bowels? Having worked in hospitals, it opens your eyes to things
Dairy products have carbs that don’t come with fiber? What carbs? Full fat cottage cheese has very little carbs. Eggs have almost 0 carbs. Swiss cheese and other hard cheese have no carbs. What dairy products is he talking about? Oh! Oh, half-and-half doesn’t have any carbs. I know what he’s talking about I Think: he is talking about skim milk, even milk any kind of “refined dairy product“. They have carbs… And no fiber. But dairy is not necessarily scary, full fat yogurt, or heavy cream, butter, eggs, full fat cottage cheese. Hard cheese like swiss , and even fresh mozzarella. Not bad unless you have a digestive issue with lactose.
This information is all well and good if one is healthy to begin with. However, if one is on Blood Pressure medication like Beta-Blockers or ARB's then this Insulin will not move, as one's sugar/insulin levels are being controlled/fixed by medication and not the body. But one cannot stop taking the medication, as one's BP will rise. Catch 22 scenario. There are also heart related reasons why some people are on these targeted BP meds.

Red cabbage salad is great for fibre I find. Add as much greens (vegies) as possible. Have you considered plain yoghurt with chia seeds, mixed nuts and milk for high protein and high fibre meal? I think you are asking the right question to help with your issue. Getting variety of fibre is good for your gut and will likely improve your insulin.
You’re not eating enough and have stalled your metabolism. Eat as much beef, bacon, and eggs as you want. You do not need fiber. It’s indigestible sugar and blocks absorption of nutrients. You’ll go the restroom less often but that’s not constipation. It’s your body having less waste b/c you’re using the nutrients you’re getting.
In a way it is. But your fasting insulin is quite low because of no food goes in that allows the fat beta oxidation from your own stored fat, thus no hunger and fat loss bonus.

At this point I feel like this is all satire. If you keep insulin low and eat in a caloric surplus it doesn’t matter what your macro nutrient ratio, that surplus will be stored as fat and that increases the risk of insulin resistance. Low carbohydrate diets can help some people better regulate hunger mechanisms that already have insulin resistance. Regulating hunger can result in a calorie deficit that leads to fat loss and reverse of insulin resistance. For others a high carbohydrate low fat diet provides the satiety that leads to the same outcomes. There are some instances of insulin resistance (3%) that don’t appear to be related to obesity and those mechanisms are not well understood as yet.
If you eat fat it will go to your fat cells. Fat cell with oncoming fat deposit secrets hormone lepton delivered to the brain to say “I am full and happy”. You then feel good and stop eating. You cannot overeat on fat unless you have abused food for so long.
Go on a diet of Oreos and soda pop. Even with modest activity, you can become insulin resistant long before you become obese. There are also genetic conditions. Your second fallacy has led to the marketing of Wegovy and other GLP-1 agonists. Your ignorance is dangerous.
Vegan did not work for me, not for lack of trying. I do not think carbs are the enemy. Good carbs like beans, sweet potatoes, and fruit are very beneficial. White bread and candy bars are not good. Forcing yourself into ketosis sounds dangerous, to me. I would never do that.

Sorry, the biggest mistake is telling fat people, drug addicts, alcoholics… it’s not their fault. Of course it’s their fault! If they can’t take responsibility for being fat they can’t take responsibility for losing the fat.
It is hilarious that a jardiance commercial appears during this video. Completes the circle. Big food creates the problem and big pharma comes to the rescue.
What you say about vegan diets as a whole is not true. Sure, anyone on any type of diet can be nutrient deficient depending on food choices within that category, but vegan diets can be very nutrient dense. To categorise all vegan diets as being deficient is obviously very short sighted. Even B12 can be naturally supplied by particular foods if one has the opportunity to include them.

Yes, carnivore does help with weight loss (only one food group and intermittent fasting), but a lot of people just need to eat less over-processed foods, eat wholesome foods and get out and spend some energy. Food labels are informative. It’s just misinformation and mistrust the people have with messages that say one thing and the people find doesn’t fit with them or they believe one propaganda for another. We are all different and one message doesn’t fit all. Carnivore has gone from too much insulin with eating carbs for weight loss to becoming an elimination diet for people with other medical problems. People believe that chronic illness can be cured. Unfortunately, you also get comments from people that just twist stories or have mental health problems.

I love the information that you are sharing and Dr. Bikman makes perfect sense, I have a question for Dr. Bikman - I am 64 years old and was diagnosed with diabetes (insulin resistant) probably because I am 45 lbs overweight. Can you please tell me what I should do. I hear carnivore, I hear a balanced diet with fruits and vegetables, intermittent fasting, prolong fasting, eat during a 6 hour window, eat 3 meals a day, no protein powder, take protein powder, no electrolytes, take electrolytes, no supplements, take supplements, no carbs, low carbs, no carbs from bags, boxes, or barcodes, carbs but stack them, and the list goes on and on.
Would you please help me and advise the best program, how.many meals to eat and when, to lose belly fat and rid myself of diabetes.

Drink A2 Kefir (best probiotic and great source of calcium). Drink enough water that your pee is a pale shade of yellow. How many glasses depends on how dehydrated you are. Meditate throughout your day, dance, read a book-something to keep your stress levels down.

Same here, doctors office called with lab results and told me to diet and exercise and redo labs in 3 months. I asked what diet and exercises would be best, I kid you not, the caller said "the kind that reduce glucose and cholesterol." !!!!! Does she know how many diets claim to reduce glucose or cholesterol? Should I do isometric, strength, or simply walk or any of the other ones that claim to help? One claims potatoes are fine another says no to potatoes. One says only eat above ground vegetables and them names several below ground that are fine!!! My stomach does not handle fake sweeteners is 1 teaspoon, which is only 10 calories of real sugar that big of a deal compared to bend over stomach pain? So many confusing diets and exercise routines out there!
Dude, I am obese and I don’t eat much at all. No one believes me. I don’t wake up hungry, and never have. I struggle to eat one meal a day. If i eat fibre, I am constipated for up to two weeks. I ate one 175g steak a day, and I still got told “well you must still be eating too much”. I’m adding more fat in and finally things are shifting a bit. I ate at 2.30 today, it’s 4.30 now and I still feel sick after eating. Don’t sit there and say it’s all about fat people eating eating eating.
It's also hormones. But if you eat to little your body adjust and burn less fat. You need to eat exactly what you need.
Eat carnivore as much as you like. Not having an appitite should show you your unhealthy. Most fat people lack appitite because digestion isn't working. Happened to me too. We need to increase metabolism by eating the correct food and let body heal and work better. When the body is healthy it will let go of excess fat.
Eating nothing or very little is called FASTING.
That sounds like me when I had diabetes.

It is. This is what I am doing. I eat pretty much only protein and fat, something like zero carb bacon and eggs with black coffee. Then for fiber I chug a quarter cup of psyllium hulls mixed in water. For lunch I might have two chicken leg quarters and my supplements..fish oil, multivitamin and such...no dinner but take magnesium pills before bed. Next day repeat....blood sugar runs 72-88.
After listening to all these quack doctors about fiber and doing what you did for years stretched my colon and ended up with leaky gut fiber is not needed on carnivore diet it’s all lies doctors and FDA created food pyramid to create sick people to create jobs eat only meat and lots of fat =0 health problems meaning you’ll never need a doctor or medicine

How long did it take to normalize BS?
To answer your question, it took months.

Stay strong. Keep going
It sounds like you are doing everything right. A low carb diet is definitely the way to go. However, if you are still seeing no change I recommend contacting your GP, just incase you have an underlying health condition.
Insulin under 11? You would be in a coma near death. What are you referring to?
Not your fault, still your problem. Own it!
Brilliant, well said brother 😊
Why do we want to slow down the absorption of carbs when we have D1M:
Adding protein and fat to the meal ensures it’s satisfying and slows down the digestion of the carbohydrates.
Amazing, as usual ❤
Unfortunately fruits and vegetables contain oxalates and other toxins that cause problems
I have heard him speak about the glycemic index on his own channel and in interviews, look him up 😊
Me and my hubby have reversed our diabetes by eating carnivore, my hubby was on a quick release x 3 shots a day and one shot of slow plus pills, he has stopped all insulin (last shot yesterday morning) and is between 5 and 9, only when we eat carbs does it go up higher…Prof Ben has stated that type 2 diabetics should NOT be treated with insulin therapy as it hastens their demise 😮my hubby has been injecting for at least a dozen years, we have also lost over a stone in weight and other health issues are improving and we only began Aug 1st 👍🏻
There have been some carnivores who have had their chronic kidney disease reverse

@@luisv007have you listened to Ben Bickman channel insuliniq
I have a question for ben too
fiber ? what fiber... tought they were saying fiber is not good.... for intestines..
What he said about broccoli is a lie! I crave broccoli and I love to steam it.
Though dairy has practically no fibre-prebiotics, it certainly has ample probiotics!
I appreciate the interview. The interviewer looks uncomfortable (to me).
Our bodies simply were not designed to run on carbs. It's like taking a car designed to run on gasoline and putting diesel into the tank. It will run, albeit poorly as long as there is some gasoline still mixed in. But, when you get to pure diesel, its going to stop running.
Great analogy 👍

@@ernesttrosman 100%
Having worked in hospitals, it opens your eyes to things
same Iam soo lost they were saying no fiber and that we dont need fiber and all of a sudden... that comes on !?
My insulin goes down when I fast why is that. Honest question

You’re not eating enough and have stalled your metabolism. Eat as much beef, bacon, and eggs as you want. You do not need fiber. It’s indigestible sugar and blocks absorption of nutrients. You’ll go the restroom less often but that’s not constipation. It’s your body having less waste b/c you’re using the nutrients you’re getting.
