Love my 1999. Every time I think about getting a newer one, I look at it, and nothing wrong with it. Paint still looks good.
More than 20years old. 178k mikes.
Driven hard for years pulling a heavy trailer. Gets about 15mpg with the 4,6 engine. Only had to fix the heater core, AC hose line, rear end gears (from pulling that trailer) was making whining noise. Love it.

The 2V 5.4L & 2V 4.6L,like what these have,are great engines if you take care of them,the 5.4L is just thirsty on the gas.
The main flaw you need to be careful with are the spark plugs because of the thread housing in the heads,Ford made them with the incorrect amount of housing.I've owned five of them,two of which were the two valve series.One of them was even in a 2003 F350 XLT and I did up to 18,000 lbs without issue pulling a horse trailer.
