Is it worth buying a cheap 200k mile suv? 2000 Ford expedition walk around

So here is my new to me 2000 Ford expedition. I purchase this to be my new family hauler for at least the summer and hopefully many years to come. This one was cheap at only $1300, but comes with over 200k miles on the clock. The question is, should you buy an old truck or SUV with high miles, or is it a waste of money? Ultimately, I believe a well taken care of vehicle can last forever, and if you pick one that was popular with lots of aftermarket support, it can even be cheaper than any other form of transportation.
The great thing about Ford expedition's is they share a platform and engine/trans, with many vehicles out there and parts can be found cheap and easily. Let me know what you think about my choice and if you would consider a similar vehicle.
