    Wow, that really looks promising. This seems so much more straigthforward than the complicated tiltrotor vector yaw stuff. Did you test what the maximum possible gear weigth is (Big Long Range Li Ion Battery?).
    Also I would recommend to not level your mic quite so high. In some passages the audio is clipping and creating a kind of ringing which is quite uncomfortable to listen to.

      Have not tested max weight... but these motors also would have hard time dealing with that, looking to get some upgrades at some point, and might load it up a bit more then! Actually the mic is not at fault here! I usually record my audios using a Rode mic connected to my phone... but lately it started doing this! When I move over to the tablet, works fine, go back to phone... does that... no idea why! Tried reinstalling the app... no change! Guess I will stick to the tablet for the time being!

    What is about CG of TailSitter? Should it be just in place of usual airplane?

      Thanks! Hmmm... I am not sure! I think the GoPro Session cameras do have stabilisation... but they are cube shaped!

      Hmmm... not sure about ANY... but with some mods possibly a good deal of them can be! Mostly flying wings lend themselves to such things due to the design and lack of tail.

    How is the GPS placement in the aircraft ? Can it be placed in any direction and does it position affects hover flights ?

      I have placed it so that it sees the sky when in plane mode. In hover mode it still sees half the sky, and I have not noticed any issues with positioning.

    Can you show us how you built your 4s2p pack? I have made several packs but not one with end to end set up.

      to make them end to end?

      For the join in the middle, yes! Once they are welded, I carefully bend them so I can make the pack long!

    off topic but.... any thoughts on immersionrc ghost and 1.2/1.3GHz VTX interference? I have been hovering around buying 1.3GHz video but wary of interference with 900Mhz rc (Crossfire/R9) - cant seem to find anyone who has tried and reported on it. Cheers

      For the most part, yes! There will be a difference in output channel mapping and some if the params regarding frame type and motor configuration.

    Hello ArxangelRC, would you please help me with this VTOL setup?
    I have Matek F405-WTE controller(flashed 4.2.3 Ardupilot) and can't do proper ESC calibration:
    I tried both options, described in Ardu documentation (with Q_ESC_CAL param) and also tried your way from "HOW-TO Matek F405 Wing" video
    Yet I have 2 problems:
    even before I arm a plane, I get full throttle in Manual and Stabilize mode, not in QStabalize however.
    when I arm, I get some throttle even if stick is totally down.
    I tried to adjust offset in mixing in radio, but this didn't help.
    In radio calibration tab, throttle bar never goes below 1500, even after calibration.
    Servo output are follow:
    ThrottleLeft
    ThrottleRight
    ElevonRIght
    ElevonLeft
    , all levels are same: min=1100, max=1900
    channels in radio are defined as follow:
    1 Ail
    2 Ele
    3 Thr
    4 Rud
    8 SD switch
    Would really appreciate any help or hint, as I stuck with this for already quite long time.

      Actually you have to do the calibration only once, in manual mode, does not have to be in another mode!

      Whichever you chose, because in setup you can program any output for them.

    Somebody knows, what i did wrong, when i cant see a Q_enable parameter at all? I can see in the Param Tree PTCH2SRV and RALLY, but not a Q parameter.

      Scaling up or down a given model without knowing what you're doing usually results in tons of issues... at the very least! I guess it can be done but somebody will have to design it, who knows what they are doing!

    I want to build a vtol using a f405 wing flight controller. Can i make one without a gps and without a compas? I don't really care about autopilot or return to home, i just want the vtol functionality.

      Hmmmmm... perhaps you should be able to! Don't see why not! Would have to use QHOVER though, as it is the mode that doesn't use the GPS to hold position.

    Do you think F405 will still sufficient for Qplane/VTOL plane? Well, it's an old model and people now seems switching to F7 or H7 based controller

      Yes, any hover mode requires a compass to work accurately.

      Yes, that is correct! You can also use QSTABILIZE, but that mode doesn't use the GPS for position hold, and I prefer the plane not to drift away when I take off or am trying to land.

      @@ArxangelRC unfortunately I was not able to test 😅 ... when I switch in QLOITER / QSTABILIZE the motors are armed but don't spin. What could be the problem ?
      When I start with STABILIZE, I am able to arm the motor with the switch (I have set this arm solution) and when I raise the throttle the motor spin. If switch to QLOITER/QSTABILIZE the motors stop (but the system is still armed).

      Its for the camera servo - swings the camera up or down during transitions, so that it is always looking forward!

    Hi Arxangel . Can you help me.. I have a apm 2.0 board , and want to know if its possible to load the VTol setup on it ? I can seem to find the q parameter under the Full parameter tree. Can you maybe email me your parameter list ? Kind regards

      I am pretty certain the APM hardware does not support VTOL.

      @@ArxangelRC what other flight controllers support the VTol ? The Matek controller is very expensive here in south Africa , and shipping from Aliexpress cost almost 3 times the price of the controller

      @@francoduplooy4407 Damn... that sucks! Well the Matek FCs are the cheapest options that will allow you VTOL capability, and have enough outputs for it.

    Sir you should also give save file of parameter in your video so that vs wala only run that file in arduino pilot and its software should be setup

      Not sure! It has enough outputs for this setup... but you will have to check if that is the full firmware with the VTOL part of the code in there!

      Well... I have not seen anything new in terms of tailsitters to be honest, or a new version of this one. The T1 Ranger comes in a VTOL configuration - s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_DlGyl93 - and seems to be a pretty decent VTOL, I am converting mine currently! There are also the HEQ Swan - store.hequavtech.com/products/swan-k1-pro-base-platform - and HEQ Voyager - store.hequavtech.com/products/swan-k1-pro-fpv-goggles-combo - tailsitters... but then the price is in a whole different bracket and the flight controls are different from a regular taisitter.

As for the Wiki link, not sure I've seen something like this, hobbygrade, available anywhere... end of the day, you could try to DIY build it... lots of people have done DIY builds for this as there are not many commerically available options that don't cost and arm and a leg.

    If inav adds tailsitter support ill build one. Ardupilot is just too clunky for me
