Ben said that outside the range is 10-12 m and inside 6 meters.I thought that this is the other way around? Also low light condition?how does that affect the range?

Question for Ben: the old Parrot Disco had a circular automatic landing that would allow it to always land into the wind and allowed automatic landing in a park where the glideslope would otherwise be impaired by high trees all around. Does ArduPlane have anything similar?

Thanks for collaberating with Ben at 3DXR for this video - learned a great deal

This is very interesting stuff. I've only just fitted an airspeed sensor, as well as a flaperon/spoileron configuration to my Swordfish. Adding an additional control surface to the wings I currently can run full length flaperons or switch to flaperon/aileron mix and vary the input via the left slider. I'll be taking notes on stall speed, glide slope, and throttle position in the coming weekends.

New here and impressed. Many thanks for the excellent content of this channel. One question. Will the Speedybee F405 with INAV 7.0.1 work with this TF Mini ?

    Dear Lee and Ben,
Thanks a lot for sharing this nice video. As metioned by Ben in the video a good TECS tunning is really important for having good results. I think that making a TECS Tunning video procedure will be a great idea as there are not so many and is a crucial point in order to have a good flying performance.
    Regards!!!

thank you lee and ben, just the video ive been after. one question, instead of the autoland being done by a mission, can the land be activated via a mode switch??

Ben dismissed sonar (ultrasonic) rangefinders. Why we should spend 10x more on a lidar one?

    • @Painless360

Are you using a sonar on your models successfully?

@@Painless360 No, but for other things that use rangefinders.

Sure now that I have all but given up, you bait me with the ultimate challenge. The pull to do this is great, having a sense of humor , I must wonder might this work in a j3 club. I was but a lad when I saw my first cub up close and personal. Watching planes take off and land from Aoria Airport. Just off the road near the end of a runway, the cub taxied , then made its run, a spit a cough a puff of smoke. A loss of power a correction, a bounce off the top of Dad's car. From my spot on the ground how it cleared wires and trees 50 yards away a mystery. As to the strike on the old Chrysler, it left a pair of foot prints , which were never washed off, made for a great story. The indent, simple hit the headliner really hard it popped out, thosevsoft rubber tire marks all the proof needed ....Take Care .

Very interesting, a smart feature for sure! Have you tried this in an airframe before? Great video by the way 👍

Very interesting thank you, however it just goes to show again that Arupilot is not user friendly, wouldn’t it be nice when setting something like this up, to have all the option listed on one screen and in the order you need to configure it. I think all the community driven software has the same sort of issues. My term for this is “ written by developers, for developers “.
Anyhow thanks again, interesting topic, and I’m looking forward to seeing it in action, especially given the cheap price.

I'm guessing you missed me adding a Rangefinder to a plane for autolanding in INAV the other week?

    • @Prevettspecialdesign
      @Prevettspecialdesign 6 місяців тому

No not me, but this is definitely a cool bit of tech to add to a model. I have a large BlackHorse Viper edf model, that I’m fitting with inav as the stabilisation, and also for battery telemetry etc, I’m quite interested in possible adding one of these rangefinder too, just as a possible failsafe, and a bit of fun.
