I was on the very first London Pride march in 1972 - things were very different in those days - many of us wore suits, and there was none of this deplorable exhibitionism.
Grooming began: "It was a march from Hyde Park to Trafalgar Square in central London protesting against the UK’s unequal age of consent: 16 for heterosexuals, but 21 for gay men. “One way we protested was to kiss each other in Hyde Park,” Brown remembers."
You were marching to promote tolerance and acceptance. What is happening now is a concerted premeditated attempt to undermine the concept of heteronormativity, using you as social armour , so they can cry “ homophobe “ or “ Transphobe “ when they meet understandable resistance from people objecting to their children being subjected to deliberately subversive and indoctrinating queer theory .
_"It's so refreshing to constantly hear the same BS from others as what I believe in."_ - The Patriarchy-Is-Totes-Real Bubble Well, good luck with that. And try to not let Julie Bindel lock you up in a man camp if you can.
Gay used to mean “happy” and was widely used in conversation and written material, but now there is a stigma to this word and it is never used apart from the new meaning of homosexual. I resent this as many others do , now the homosexuals have stolen the word “pride “ as well and also the rainbow . If homosexuals are trying to be accepted in the societies they live in they should try to be more considerate , not everyone wants to see their outlandish street parades with semi naked people and pseudo homosexual acts or want their children exposed to this .
Douglas hits the nail on the head with "it's a lot of nasty narcissism". And Julie makes sound points on the underlying misogyny of current gender idiocy.
As a heterosexual man, I tend to turn off when listening to these types of issues (most like the majority of men and women, I imagine). But Julie and Douglas are reasoned, humoured, informative, and interesting to listen to, whatever the subject.
Well, we should be interested in this topic sooner than later. It is not anymore about equal rights. It is about the beginning of tyrannical structures.
Exactly my thought. The counterpart of Napoleon's saying 'never interrupt your enemy when he's making a mistake' is 'never interrupt your friend when they're talking sense'.

I had a gay couple as neighbors in the 80's. They had been together for 17 years at that time. The 2nd or 3rd year of the local pride parade, the 3 of us decided to go. Neither of us had been before. When the guys saw the half naked people marching in the parade, Jeff said, "Let's go, this is a damn embarrassment and will do nothing to help with how people see us" That was the last pride parade I attended.
@@wideye2901 …The event probably triggered more anti-gay feelings than any other. When I briefly saw it, I immediately thought the same and left in disgust shortly afterward, feeling that it was likely more harmful to the gay community than helpful. As Douglas rightly points out, it reflects a massive and quite fundamental lack of taste. It also reflects a profound and narcissistic disregard for the emotions of others.
My husband and I wld go for a walk w/ kids on a popular street, we didn't know it was Pride Parade. We stayed. I liked the footwear..it was a good vibe, nothing obscene, a lot of leather but so what. I was glad when gay ppl were given same rights as straight married ppl. But at that time, everyone stayed in their lane. My 6 yr old daughter disliked the colors GAP for kids had for girls, pale blue, pink, lavender, she'd go pick out a hoody from " boys " side, colors- navy, red, green. A salesperson said oh sweetie, your clothes r over there, and I said, she can wear whst color she wants. She wanted to be in boxing. So I put her in boxing. She's a gorgous high maintenance ($$,) nails, long streaked blonde hair, gorgous, who's been with same guy 7 yrs. She's straight, has gay friends. Oh and she's a roofer. I don't believe in gender colors, toys, (btw, she can carry the 70lb loads) but I do think men are bigger, stronger, faster, and that a man is king of his castle. She does the cooking/ cleaning, and pays half the rent. There's so many, if u watch y/ t, entitled young women, I can't wait til they're 30, I'm 55. I'm invisible, but, I had my day in the sun, now it's my daughters turn. They both hsve conservative, but open minded, loving ❤️ 's. I'm really proud of them. If one were to be gay, I'd love her the same. I wish ppl cld just stop being crazy, and the new teaching kids they can b this or that, I detest. Let them figure it out. Just stop. Please.
@freebird1477 I mean, I get that most people have their subjective standards of "decency" and there are vague laws related to one's appearance and behavior in public, but the kneejerk negativity to a joyful celebration is unfortunate... I'm wondering if there isn't an overall pendulum shift occurring among the vocal masses in reaction to the mainstreamification of various culturally "left" causes such as gay and trans rights, accompanied by a perceived overreach and authoritarian tendency. I'm a far lefty myself and identify with your approach. But I'm noticing something like this going on that most leftists haven't been open to honestly addressing.
@eemoogee160 I'm not a lefty anymore, I'm more + more convinced that the less govt interference in our daily affairs is best, big govt= big $$$, and I believe most govts of western world are WEF puppets. I believe in equality, for all, but not equity. I find it offensive + racist. The pride parades were lgb, I'm sure we've always had transppl in our midst, but it wasn't this " a man can claim he feels like a woman and b recognized as such" Evrn tho he is clearly a man. Or if they do dress as women, it's caricature, w/ overdone terrible makeup, sleazy clothes, I think those hate women. And somehow, I sorta blame feminists for their b.s. claim thst women can do anything men can do, it's been turned on it's head and women are being wiped out. The biggest problem to me, is the garbage that started in universities , ppl warching/ believing the lies on TV, and the worst, the lie they tell children that they can choose to b a boy or a girl. And the underhanded way the sex clinics have gotten away w/ no parental consulting. Idk what I would do if my 16 yr old daughter came home after having had top surgery. I can't post it here. It's those things that upset me, about the trans, + transwomen in sports. I don't want to dislike any group of ppl, but that one seems so clearly a lie/ threat/ , and I can't believe anyone supports such evilness.
My lesbian friend plucked up the courage to join in an Australian pride parade a few years ago. She found the whole event confronting, utterly vulgar and distasteful. She described the participants as narcissists and not appropriately costumed for the many children watching. She said there was no sense of celebration or acknowledgment of how far their rights had come.
@@jamesclark6487 Legal protection for gay and lesbian couples, and decriminalisation , that is all important and worthy and that is what the original pride parade celebrated. Brilliant discussion. I am a woman doctor and recovering Catholic. The latest buzzwords for caring for the underprivileged is to say that you " walk with" the victim. The local archbishop advised school teachers to " walk with" trans children and their families. I replied that " you can walk with them as much as you like but this is child abuse." To his credit he left it up on his website. Thank you both for your common-sense answers. The more we call out this culture of misogyny and child abuse in the charity, politics, education and commercial spheres the sooner we get over this madness.
@jennyredbeans Which is why the Archbishop should never have approved of teachers in Catholic schools allowing children to change their gender, use different pronouns and wear different school uniforms. So I called him out. I am recovering from believing that the hierarchy of the church can be trusted. I still believe in the Catholic faith. They don't.
The whole MAPS thing utterly repulses and horrifies me that there is an attempt to normalise inflicting abuse and lifelong trauma on a child. It's monstrous.

Well, good luck with that.

I had a gay couple as neighbors in the 80's. They had been together for 17 years at that time. The 2nd or 3rd year of the local pride parade, the 3 of us decided to go. Neither of us had been before.
When the guys saw the half naked people marching in the parade, Jeff said, "Let's go, this is a damn embarrassment and will do nothing to help with how people see us"
That was the last pride parade I attended.
@@wideye2901 …The event probably triggered more anti-gay feelings than any other. So sorry my love. This is horrible.

Yeah there's a reason why we call them child molesters. It's because the molest kids and quite rightly It's a crime. Next thing we'll be hearing about animal attracted persons.
@@riverdonoghue9992 Right! I said that years ago that satan is bringing up all the sins and making them legal. Actually in some countries it's legal, but it will be in the US soon.
It is purely demonic.
@@user-cu3xn4xj3iI sorry but are you saying being homosexual and being a peadophile is the same thing.? Because if you you are way way off the mark and out of order. From someone who is homosexual and hates peadophiles with a pssion don't ever put those two groups together and you can save the religious talk while your at it. How dare you. If that is not what your saying as things do get misread on social media what are you saying . I'm interested to know
Love, love, straight talking “Pride” skewering Julie and Douglas. Can’t disagree with anything they’ve said. Special appreciation for the lesbian community who are sticking up for biological sex based rights.
Since the trannies went into Napoleon mode, I've seen about 5 lesbians and about 1,000 hetero males attempt to real it in. What? Couldn't bring yourself to giving credit where real credit is due?
Agree Agree Agree … As a man who is gay … Pride needs to go the heck away
@@damntexan9121 My uncle felt the same way. He hates what has happened to his community.
This needs to be shared far and wide, especially to industry. This discussion is pure common sense and represents LGB fantastically.
I see you took the T off LGBTQ, the LGBQ community feel the same way. They believe in biology. Lesbians are women. Gays are men. Trans ar...delusional.
Douglas Murray - you are one of my intellectual heroes. A person's value doesn't derive from their looks, sexuality, skin color or anything other than the content of their characters and the sum total of their efforts and achievements.
The way I see it, even a person who is born severely disabled has value, even if their achievements are very limited because of their disability. They are still a human person, and therefore have intrinsic value, as they are made in the image of God.
My favorite parts of this were the parts where Douglas and Julie made one another smile with their clever quips.
You might be lonely :(
@@a.nelprober-rl5cf It's possible. Or you might be projecting?
Yes. I'm not a great fan of Julie Bindel in general. But that's not to say that she can't impress me quite often, because she can and does. Here is one of those times. Douglas Murray I'm a great fan of. I respect the fact that despite their differences, they can interact here very amicably.
Mine too! How lovely to see them appreciate each other's humour so much. Brilliant.
Disco gays 😂
I am 62 been with my partner 34 years. I never came out and went to a Pride Parade once. I said never again. That is not who I am.

As always; the World needs Douglas Murray.
As a straight women I found this conversation fascinating. I have many gay friends who would feel the same as Douglas. They are not part of some random grouping with people speaking for them! They don’t need that, they are bright, witty ( like Douglas) and very capable of speaking for themselves. We must stop putting people into boxes where they clearly don’t belong.
What's weird to me is how some folks treat this gay thing to be something so significant. These days, it really isn't. Most people are like "okay whatever" now. We shouldn't be treating it like such a big deal anymore. By always putting it in the forefront and singling it out, it just creates or reinforces it as being "abnormal".
@@miketess3358Honestly. It's like they're just grasping for any hint of homophobia today under the rocks just to continue to blast how ignorant our nations are and how much they're victimized by society. I'm 24 and the gay issue is so old now that if you were to tell anyone my age you were any part of the LGBTQ community, you would either get a weird look (because it no longer even matters to people), or you'd get support in the form of "yasss queen, do your thingg," 🙄.
Literally no one of my age gives a damn and it's so irritating that we have to continue to hear how homophobic we still all are, and see certain deranged people like Jussie Smollet literally fake hate crimes just to gain attention since homophobia is so rare now a days. It's like the gay young adults of today can't accept being accepted by society... it's truly bizarre.
As a straight bloke I totally agree .They both talk sense and are spot on .
I have no words to describe how much I love listening to Douglas....he's the best!!!
It is always a pleasure to listen to intelligent people. I read all his books. He is ... I simply love him.
Wow, how refreshing....as a straight, conservative man distraught over events of recent years, thanks for this sober exchange!!
Julie, I am a white, male, middle class heterosexual and I think you are great. Keep up the good work.
the debate is about sexuality/gender why the need to tell us your ethnicity ?
YES, YES, YES!!!! 36 glorious minutes of absolute SANITY!!!
Julie is the first person I have ever seen shut Douglas up when she said "Oh you are bound to say something terribly offensive soon" 😂 That was so funny. What a great discussion.
Imagine living in a time when just being a straight White male walking down the street with chin up...is enough to trigger and offend the brainwashed satanic liberals.
I think Julie herself would be every bit as likely to say something offensive… it’s just her leftyness showing when she (wrongly) assumes that Douglas might be more likely to say something offensive.
Actually thought that was a fairly vacuous obnoxious comment from her. She seems a perpetual victim with her war stories. Douglas is levels above this.
Sir, that is what she says to every man she disagrees with
@@annarboriter but Douglas shut up. So I guess he needs to get back into training 😉 I love Douglas but she pulled it off.
Love a good healthy discussion that addresses current affairs with insight, dignity and respect. The humour is just the cherry on top and truly keeps it real 🍒

Julie & Douglas, are rocks of sense. These two people are great to listen to. Thanks for sharing.
Thank God for people like Julia and Douglas. Brilliant episode.
Two absolute heroes in Julie and Douglas. And, just to stray off topic slightly, Lukas is 😍
It looks like Julie has two twins to either side of her wearing identical outfits.

(Same applies to Douglas).
Absolutely a fantastic conversation..
People are sick of this nonsense being shoved down their throats, and like it.
The slippery slope is not a fallacy for this group.
@@AlexAlex-yf7yw The rainbow group used to say the straight culture's fears were unjustified, their projections were hyperbolic and fallacious.
Yet here we are in a much worse place than the hetero normies ever imagined, with the "oppressed" becoming the oppressor. It isn't simply about getting married or having equal rights under the law, they want to force the kids to be exposed to kink and aberrant fetishes. They want to force their most revolting behaviors in the faces of straight and traditional people. They want to stigmatize being religious or wanting traditional values and roles for families.
The "slippery slope fallacy" isn't a fallacy with the rainbow people. It is just a slippery slope into dystopia.
Progressive bullshit needs to be called out👍
I am a 43 year old straight man, who stood (literally) arm-in-arm with my gay friends in the 90s. At times, we stood around them because people wanted to beat them.
We have all fought so bloody hard, and accomplished so much to get to a place where homosexuality was finally accepted in society.
The "alphabet people" have torn that apart and act in a way that is an insult to everything that was done. They are creating intolerance toward the LGBT community; hatred has increased toward the community.
The arguments and accusations made are a slap in the face to every gay man, lesbian, etc that went before them.
Julie and Douglas were both spot on ...and funny to boot
First time hearing Julie, she was charming, funny, eloquent & well informed. I will be seeking her out, she is someone who deserves a platform. Refreshing
Julie is an incredibly intelligent woman, her eloquent humour is a huge bonus! Unfortunately she’s taken a lot of stick from the unbearable progressive Left for a while now. Most people would’ve gone quiet or done an online apology by metaphorical gun point but she stands by her opinions and holds her head high. She’s excellent and as a biological lesbian WOMAN I am so thankful women like her exist for I fear if it weren’t for women like Julie womanhood would crumble into an infinite dust.
What a delight! Listening to such smart people is so wonderful and refreshing.
Extraordinary that Douglas was able to be interviewed by a time-travelling younger version of himself. They even got the clothes right! Just adorable.
This was beautiful to hear. We need to promote people like this more. Courage is contagious. Keep telling the truth.
Feels like a glass of water after crawling through the desert. Breath of fresh air, sanity, clarity, honesty. Cathartic. Thanks, Lukas. You catalyzed a brilliant conversation between two brilliant people.
So well formulated and to the point. Couldn't agree with you more!
Yep, spot on
Douglas Murray is one of the most sensible voices on the planet!
This is dialogue between intelligent people. Wonderful.
