I am really taken with it, what a nice affordable entry level pineapple Soprano. I do have a bigger problem than you with the sound hole decoration though, my preference would be to remove the fish and reduce the diameter by roughly half.

I picked one of these up after watching this. Agree with everything here, though I DO like the soundhole design. Trouble is now I'm totally sold on the pineapple shape and can't help thinking my other ukes look like mini guitars by comparison. And because this is the cheap end of the pineapple stakes this can only end badly :-) $$$$$
I really like that decoration. Very striking and not overdone.

Impossible to compare really - they are built completely differently. I liked both
after a year of having this ukulele its color turned dark and its sound is less strident and sweeter 💚💚💚

I can always tell when. A good score is coming when you play an extra song or two because you want to hear the instrument in a few different play styles.

I totally LOVE your blunt honesty ! I'm a pineapple sucker too, and I think I have watched all the possible videos about them, lol. I now think the only way to cure my "ukulele acquisition syndrome" is to buy a Kamaka, ha ha !
The Kamaka is the ultimate original!
Wanted this one but got the standard soprano instead because it was sold out.. I am really happy with it though and glad to hear that you like the flight ukes. Makes me feel confident about picking this to start playing.

as the Flight NUS310 pineapple?

I want to buy an economy soprano ukulele in black.
Will be same quality but sound will be different on account of body shape. Pineapples have more mid range tone

Hi, I really like your video's.
I have a question. For a beginner is it better to buy this ukulele (soprano), or the flight nuc 310? (A concert size). Or which one do you like the most.
And can you learn how to play a ukulele without any lessons, just from UA-cam video's?

Honestly depends on what is most comfortable and I cannot answer that. I have played for 15 years and mainly play soprano and tenor - which tells you how difficult the choice is. They are ALL ukuleles though and all relevant.
Lessons will ALWAYS help though.

Hi. A little question. What model of pegs would you buy for this ukulele? That they could be fair with what they cost but that they are not horribly bad... Regards
I always use Grover 4's or Grover 6's

I think so - the NUS is more of a bark - pineapples tend to round out the mids more due to the body shape. A more complex tone I think.
What was the video you did with the odd-looking ukulele. I think it was blue, parts of the strings were not over the neck nd it had almost like two crescent -shaped parts facing each other? I think it was foreign made but I could be wrong on that. I've been looking for the video but haven't found it yet.

I bought one today, a super little thing, and a bargain at £38! It plays nice and intonation is good too. I may change the tuners to pegs, but for decent ones they may cost more than the uke itself :)

At that price, can't think of any i'd truly recommend.

@@IAMJRAD Pineapples? The only brand that springs to mind is Ohana, but you would need to spend far more than $100 for a good one. Sorry - not played a lot of cheap pineapple ukes
@@GotAUkulele no worries, I was actually able to order one online luckily. I guess right now their supply chain is pretty off due to COVID. Coming from the netherlands over to the US $100 total

I am 12 and I have been studying ukelele, not only how to play, but it’s origins. I do not yet have a use of my own but I only need 10 more US dollars until I have enough for this one.

I really love flight ukes. My local music store doesn't have a big uke selection, and mostly carry Kala, but recently got a bunch of Flights in. Since then most of my students that have asked me to accompany them there to buy a uke have ended up with a flight. They always seem to have pretty good setup and good playability, especially for the price. I also haven't come across any serious intonation issues with any of their instruments. And then on top of that they come with a free gig bag which just puts them over the top.
Agreed on all counts. They are not high end, but far from the usual junk either. Always been reliable in what I have seen and a better price than usual suspects.
Question: I just got mine today and I LOVE it!! Sounds great, easy on the fingers, fun to play. My question is can I put a strap button on this? I was watching your video on how to do it but I'm not quite sure whether this ukulele would be ok to put one on. Appreciate your thoughts!
You'd have to check inside to see if there is a tail block - but if there is, no problem

I Got a flight ukulele from a store. It is not in tune down the neck. I wrote them and no response. Don't spend your money on something that looks nice but is a polished turd!
I would be questioning the store not the brand. What you describe is an issue with intonation and is easily fixed (10 minute job) by a dealer. In an ideal world every uke would have perfect setup from the factory, but transportation can throw them out. I've seen $1000 ukes with intonation needing a setup by a dealer - can happen to any ukulele. So my message - don't spend your money in a store that doesn't check them over.
