There's never been a better gangster character than Don Logan in Sexy Beast played by Sir Ben Kingsley. Unbelievable and legendary performance.. I knew that film was going to be good when it opened with "Peaches" by The Stranglers playing.
I once watched the two films about two weeks apart by complete coincidence and it was shockingly good. You probably know but Ben K’s first meeting with the rest of the cast is the first scene with him turning up at the villa. Ray W said he was terrified
You're right. The cast and their performances are stellar. Most people don't rank it highly amongst Ritchie's "Gangster Pantheon" but I love it. Need to watch it again. Not a "Ritchie"...but check out "Sexy Beast". Ray Winstone, Ian MacShane and Sir Ben Kingsley in a role that has to be seen to be believed.
It's bizarre that people don't rate it higher when it's by far the best of his "gangster" films; apparently people don't like that it's moving into the territory of being more psychological and philosophical, but that's when Ritchie is at his absolute best (exemplified by Revolver, his most psychological and philosophical film of all, and his best in my view, also coincidentally rated among the lowest of all his films).
For me my fav Guy Ritchie films in order order are Snatch, RocknRolla and lock stock. Loved your reaction to this film but I would love to see a reaction vlog from you and Mrs Boomer for one of Englands greatest movies Dead Mans Shoes
HURRAH!!!! MY FAVORITE GUY RICHIES MOVIE!!!! BUTLER, TOM HARDY, IDRIS ELBA, MARK STRONG, TOM WILKINSON, GREAT CAST!!!! THEY SAID A SEQUEL WAS COMING...WHEN!!!!👍👍👍👍❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤👍👍👍👍👍👍❤❤❤❤❤
Please do Football Factory next. Guy Richie isn’t the only Londoner director, Nick Love has made some great films. Also try Smokin Aces, one of the closest American films I’ve seen to Guy Richie’s style
Matt King (Super Hans) hasn’t had a lot of work recently, I think I saw him do an insurance advert? Hopefully he gets some more work because I think he is underrated as an actor
There was going to be a second film but most of the main characters became overnight superstars and in real demand. Unfortunately they were unable to get enough of them to be available at the same time to make a sequel.
React to Layer Cake! It’s a British gangster movie in a similar vein to a Guy Richie production. It’s directed by Matthew Vaughn who was also a producer on both Snatch and Lock Stock, it right up your street! Starring Daniel Craig too.
One more GR movie Revolver. Stella cast with Statham again including the late Ray Liotta. After that you have to do Love, Honour, Obey. All British cast with Ray Winstone Jude Law and Johnny Lee Miller. An interesting fact about this one is all the characters have their own actual names. Ray is Ray Jude is Jude. Violent a bit and hilarious. You'll love it KB
I agree Mean Machine is a great film but it wasn’t directed by Guy Richie. He produced it. Was directed by Barry Skolnick. Also, I respect your opinion but Revolver is one of the worst films ever made 😂
Correct king boomer that is Wembley in london capacity 90,000. Coincidentally london has the most stadiums in the world within its city limits (22) largest being Wembley (90k) Twickenham -home of rugby (82k) the london stadium (80k) Tottenham stadium (62k) emirates stadium (60k)
This is another great crime related Guy Ritchie movie. Mean Machine is another not so well known movie of his with a lot of the cast from Snatch in it. Hilarious stuff.
I went to see The Covenant and while it contains some elements of a Guy Ritchie film, it failed to live up to his London underworld stuff. The ending was typical "Hollywood", but Dar Salim was superb. Snatch remains my favourite.
The reason the cop had no gun, was that he is a cop actually. UK cops do not carry more than a tazer gun. Only special units comparable to the US SWAT carry proper firearms.
"I've seen her before. Don't know her name". That's model and actress Gemma Arterton. You might have seen her in Quantum of Solace, or a load of other sci-fi movies. The cast list in this is frankly ridiculous, from both sides of the Atlantic - I totally forgot Ludacris was in this.
I love the seen 28:28 when Johnny and Pete get knocked down by the bouncer and Pete laying on the floor gose: leave it John I’m happy, I’m alright down here mate. Jonny: I’ll fu**ing show him happy. Pete: Ohhh nooo.
Hey King Boomer this isn't a Guy Ritchie gangster movie but it's a great gangster movie with an all star cast with Josh Hartnett, Lucy Lu, Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman, Sir Ben Kingsley, and Stanley Tucci it's called Lucky Number Slevin I guarantee that you'll like it
couple of other decent uk gangster films you would like "layer cake" "love honor and obey" and "rise of the footsoldier." this one is based on a true story
"Once Were Pilgrims" is the story of ex SAS, Will Scully Q.G.M., and how he saved hundreds of people trapped by rebels in a hotel in Sierra Leone. He played Bill, the nutter punching out the car window.
yeah this was originally going to be a trilogy with real and realest being sequels and despite the second film having a first script Guy Ritchie got to do Sherlock Holmes and this sort of got left behind. The stars this had too that became more famous probably would have led to scheduling problems either way
Please do Love honour and obey which is another great British gangster movie and if you want to watch a clip to get a taste try Love honour and obey the gunfight
I think for his gangster films in order the cast gets progressively better. I think between this and The Gentleman it's damned close but The Gentleman has a better cast., And look at the OMFG performance Hugh Grant gave. We NEVER saw him play a role like that or one so well. And I wont get into the others in it as this will oh so quickly turn into TL;DR post. Loved the reaction and thanks for it. But something about this movie connected with me unlike the others, so I've always preferred it.
Strange, but I probably rewatched this one the most. Very easy on the eyes and ears... Not a Guy Ritchie -film, but I think you'd enjoy 'Mean Machine': A young Jason Statham and Vinnie Jones in lockup, with essentially the plot that Americans know as 'The Longest Yard'. RocknRolla is amazing! 'You'll never sing the same if your teeth ain't your own'... RIP Tom Wilkinson.
Out of this, Lock, Stock & Snatch ... I think RocknRolla is the best film, funny, wll layered narrative, more polished (Lock, Stock was a game changer but raw in places, refreshingly original admittedly ... is the difference between Reservoir Dogs n Pulp Fiction) ... Butler, Hardy & Elba are at their best n obviously enjoying it lol (Dexter Fletcher is also always a fecking treat ... Incidently in the UK he is / was the voice of McDonalds ads on TV ... very incongrous considering his big screen career lol)
There's no doubt that the Uri character is based on Roman Abramovich (before the shitstorm against Russian oligarchs worldwide), the back then owner of the London football club Chelsea, the actor even looks as his twin. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roman_Abramovich Also check out the movie "The Veteran" with Toby Kebbell (Johnny Quid), it has what's considered one of the most realistic shootouts made on screen.
@@daisybelle1025 Yeah I know her from Quantum Of Solace the James Bond Movie but she has been in a lot of stuff, she's kinda gone off the radar as of late though
All these years later and i'm still waiting for RocknRolla sequel.
Me too
It would be perfect especially since all the actors have aged well
There's never been a better gangster character than Don Logan in Sexy Beast played by Sir Ben Kingsley. Unbelievable and legendary performance.. I knew that film was going to be good when it opened with "Peaches" by The Stranglers playing.
Sexy Beast really is one of the best films ever made
I once watched the two films about two weeks apart by complete coincidence and it was shockingly good. You probably know but Ben K’s first meeting with the rest of the cast is the first scene with him turning up at the villa. Ray W said he was terrified
I’ve got sexy beast on dvd and tbh I’ve only watched the ‘peaches’ intro and I was mesmerised immediately. X
Layer Cake (2004) Crime/Drama.
It's up there with the best of them.

My favourite
"ONE, TWO", " MUMBLES", "COOKIE" LOVE THE NAMES!!!!😁😁😁😂😂
This is such an underrated movie, so glad you gave it a watch.
Hope the Queen & little Boomer are still doing great.
👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Toby Kebbell as Johnny Quid 10/10
Also Mark Strong is amazing as usual
For me my fav Guy Ritchie films in order order are Snatch, RocknRolla and lock stock.
Loved your reaction to this film but I would love to see a reaction vlog from you and Mrs Boomer for one of Englands greatest movies Dead Mans Shoes
Sir Michael Caine gave the best slap in the movie, "Get Carter" (1971).
So glad you reacted to this such an underated movie 👏
the British Red Squirrel has been decimated by the American Grey .... i didnt know about the American Crayfish ......
It's still here but rare and in reservations.
Hardy's "Handsome Bob" is so cute!!!!😲😲😲😲
RocknRolla hands down one of my all time favourite movies, watched it countless times and always enjoy it
HURRAH!!!! MY FAVORITE GUY RICHIES MOVIE!!!!
BUTLER, TOM HARDY, IDRIS ELBA, MARK STRONG, TOM WILKINSON, GREAT CAST!!!! THEY SAID A SEQUEL WAS COMING...WHEN!!!!👍👍👍👍❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤👍👍👍👍👍👍❤❤❤❤❤
The Gentleman movie, another Guy Ritchie creation, is fantastic. Colin Farrell is hilarious in it! A must watch❤
Already reacted to it
If you watched the film to the end of the credits, there is a post credit scene with Tom Hardy and Gérard Butler doing the slow dance in more detail.
That is Wembley. 90k capacity. Well done 👏
And yes, the actor in the chair proves there are no small parts.
Hands down, one of the funniest gangster flicks. Have watched several times, definitely underrated
"What is it you wanna do to me then Bob" 🤣
pleased you got around to this one, one of the best!
Snatch, Lock Stock and RocknRolla are my favourite Guy Richie movies. Wrath of Man is excellent too. A bit similar to Heat in my opinion.
Please do Football Factory next. Guy Richie isn’t the only Londoner director, Nick Love has made some great films. Also try Smokin Aces, one of the closest American films I’ve seen to Guy Richie’s style
Yes Smoking Aces was really good
Matt King (Super Hans) hasn’t had a lot of work recently, I think I saw him do an insurance advert? Hopefully he gets some more work because I think he is underrated as an actor
There was going to be a second film but most of the main characters became overnight superstars and in real demand. Unfortunately they were unable to get enough of them to be available at the same time to make a sequel.
Have you done Dead Man’s Shoes yet?
If not, highly suggest you’d like it, from your channel choices so far.
Enjoy

Biggest Cast? Including The Gentleman surely not!

Deffo need to see Bronson with Tom Hardy (& Super Hans!)
Wrath of Man is another Guy Ritchie movie that recently came out and is brilliant too! Was so happy that you watched this though.
Thanks for the upload and reaction, one of my favorite British gangster movies. Glad you enjoyed it.
I went to see The Covenant and while it contains some elements of a Guy Ritchie film, it failed to live up to his London underworld stuff.
The ending was typical "Hollywood", but Dar Salim was superb.
Snatch remains my favourite.
I absolutely love this movie. Fun to see it pop up here,
Saw you two's reacting to the depp heard thing on netflix 🤣👌🏻🔥
Guy being dropped river is Blake Retson, who plays a great part in "DaVinci's Demons".... an evil man😵😵
The reason the cop had no gun, was that he is a cop actually. UK cops do not carry more than a tazer gun. Only special units comparable to the US SWAT carry proper firearms.
The exception being police in Northern Ireland, where they all carry firearms.
There's a film called "the business" - good fun & plenty of crazy shit going on.
One of my fave films underrated
The Business is a class movie fr fr
03:31 Your dog loves this movie as well!
Another British Gangster movie you really should watch is "LOVE, HONOUR and OBEY." It is very funny and a must watch.
John Wick needs to up his pencil game lol
Yup, he's not the only one using pencil.
Stream near my place still has British white claw crayfish in it. The Americans are just a couple of miles downstream though.

Quality film, haven't seen this in ages 👌
I'M A MAN...I BLAST ON FREEWAY!!!🎵🎶🎵🎵🎶
Still waiting on that sequel
Good little watch this one! Tony Kebbell who plays ‘johnny quid’ in this also in ‘Dead mans shoes’ - although probs not suitable for youtube lol
A magnificent film! Not just just unsuitable, but also too good to be shrunk into a UA-cam reaction. KB - just watch it for your own enjoyment!
"Super Hans" Matt King is HILARIOUS n a series you might like, "SPIRITED" HHe plays a rock rolla ghost!!👍👍👍👍👍
Watch Eurotrip as it’s hilarious and Americans and European viewers will enjoy
Lock, Stock the series is also worth checking out.
Gérard Butler is so handsome.❤
Been waiting on this since I watched the other G.R reviews 👏
This movie is stacked with talent, but man Mark Strong steals it for me Archie is such a cool character
I still hold out hope we'll get the sequel promised.

Excellent movie picks👍
Love honor and obey is sickest uk film
Behave yourselves....all of them are awful 😂😂😂
Yes to live honour and obey!!!
"Once Were Pilgrims" is the story of ex SAS, Will Scully Q.G.M., and how he saved hundreds of people trapped by rebels in a hotel in Sierra Leone. He played Bill, the nutter punching out the car window.
I beg you watch drifters on all 4 the 3 girls and itd be the best you and queen boomer ❤
is dead mans shoes or four lions on his future list?
Yes
ALL THEY DID WAS SLOW DANCE!!👍👍😂😂
Great movie, never got the credit it deserves
never been a sequel to this which is a shame as the cast was brilliant in this one.

Fuckin good choice man! Seen this a bunch of times. Revolver by Guy Ritchie, highly recommend, you'll love that. 👍
it was ,to be fair, an earlier movie than the other GR movies. :)
Love honor and obey
Really like this one. And Guy Ritchie seems to do anything BUT The Real RocknRolla. Maybe some day.
I HAVE THE SOUNDTRACK!!!! BLACK STROBES DO "IM A MAN"👍👍👍👍👍👍
Damn love the movie reactions but I ain’t seen this one🙈gonna have to sit it out
In real life people, let alone known criminals cannot carry guns in their waste band like that. Lengthy sentence once discovered.
NO SEQUEL YET!!!!!😵😵😵😵😵❤❤❤❤❤
I HAVE THE SOUNDTRACK...SOOOO GOOD!!!🎵🎶🎵🎶🎵
Boomer's in the house 🤪🏴🇺🇸👍
Have a watch of cockneys v zombies think you'll enjoy it .

Not Guy Ritchie but Layer Cake a good English gangster movie.
