    Priscilla the pig roast was a great event! I kind of wish that I recorded the breakdown process as it was pretty fun but that is footage of the party itself and was captured by the pro from Gusto Photo (He may be under a different name now)

    Oh my Gosh! The pig cook is already amazing,...then I see that smoker! Wow,..very impressed! I really like your channel, .. you have great character, and I can tell a great guy. One of my favorite videos so far! I love cooking with apple and cherry wood. Dirty smoke,..terrible thing, great point. That shot of the smoke coming up in the night footage is great! Loved it!

      We had a really good time with this cook since it was my first there was no real expectation for success. It took the pressure off. That night shot... man. I had to capture something positive about it because the dog and I were out back FREEZING hahahaha 😆

    Thanks you said you started at 1am and the pig finish at 10:am how many hours it take to cook a pig

    • @dsquebackyardbbq217
      @dsquebackyardbbq217  2 роки тому +1

      This one took a legit 9 to 10 hrs to cook. I kept a very consistent temp. Didn't open the pit to spritz and fed the fire the second that the temp started dropping I think that helped.

    OMG excited is an understatement; thanks brother for taking the stigma out of cooking that whole swine; Big Mama clearly can handle that pig and then some; keeping the cook relatively simple takes the fear out of it for me; I’m impressed you got that bad boy opened up with knife; lol I was wondering if you was considering using the perfect draft; I have a similar problem in that no one offers good seasoned wood around here; I gotta go help the wife refinish a bathtub but I got plenty more to check out you have gone to another level👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

      Good morning sir! You already know we like to keep things as simple as possible around here! I made a very big deal out of it and it was probably one of the easiest cooks that I've done in a while technique wise. Wasn't too fun handling that dead weight alone but all in all it was a blast. I almost sent you a spoiler directly but somehow managed to hold the surprise lol
      I will tip my hat to you because I definitely had the perfect draft running th entire cook and big hat off to you because you were the first person that I had seen with one, so big ups there! I need to start calling you inspector GADGETS hahaha.
      Nothing like having a home project to do to pass the time until football comes on. You guys doing a full out remodel or is this just a touch up?

      @@dsquebackyardbbq217 you’re right about the inspector gadget lol its a illness and I know mental pathology lmao, it was a surprise seeing that this morning, was that piggy for family and football or was that business? I like how you get the children involved, that definitely teaches self reliance and responsibility and teaching children of color to be entrepreneurial is assign on to the next generation

      @@bjsbackyardbuckeyebbq5820 lol this hobby of cooking is the closet that I want to get to feeling like work in my free time as I want to get, so I feel you there. It's great that you guys have that balance between you two. And like the old saying goes... you like it, I love it. I didn't know that you were planning to master the art of mixology... First the fast and hot brisket, now this. It's hard keeping up with you sir!

      @@bjsbackyardbuckeyebbq5820 thanks for this btw! I like to show them that if you want to get your best out of anything in life you gotta put in the work. My son (the young toddler) seems to be the only one thoroughly interested in cooking at the moment. I'll be honest, if I knew that he would end up wanting to do it as an adult I would go into overdrive trying to leave something established for him. It would be neat. This pig was for out 16th anniversary. We did our thing but celebrated with the family as well.
