    2 tips: freeze and grate you butter, it mixes real quick and secondly, after mixing egg in, place dough in fridge 15-20 minutes before shaping, cutting and cooking.

    I made these yesterday and as with all keto recipes i made half the recipe so I am not gutted if it doesn’t turn out good cz i wasted the ingredients 😂 honestly these were THE BEST keto scones I have had EVER. They were so easy to make and those layers were wowww. I had with clotted cream and Sf Strawberry jam sooo good. I got 6 small scones from half the recipe but ill be making the full recipe tomorrow bcz thyre all gone 😋

    I made this today 😋😋. It is delicious! I added orange zest and glazed using the recipe you added on the blueberry version. Also, I made half recipe - beat 1 egg and 1 egg yolk, weighted and divided in two. When trying a recipe for the first time I always make half - almond flour costs more than gold!!! Next time, I want to omit the salt, add cake batter extract (to hide the almond taste) and add more sweetner - it was a bit on the savory side to my taste. These scones are better warm, so make them when you are hungry.
    I must say this scone recipe is the best I have tried thus far. THANK YOU FOR ANOTHER GREAT RECIPE ❤🙏🥰

    ❤❤❤ Thank you sooo much for this recipe!!! For my friend's birthday I made her high tea with English tea sandwhiches and a fancy salad. For her I made the normal tea sandwhiches and mine were keto sandwhiches. But I REALLY wanted to include the scones with Devonshire cream and keto jam.
    For over two hours I spend on the internet and phone trying to find GF plain scones. Although I eventually found a bakery to special order plain GF ones but they still were not keto ones. This is what I was looking for!!! ❤
    After reading the comments I am sooo excited to make these and to plan another tea party with friends!!! Thank you so much!!! 🌹🌹🌹
    (Doing my best to stay on keto and still have fun with it. 😊)
    P.S. Thank you for sharing the weights as well and not just the measurements as that is important when you are on keto.

      @@lowcarbrecipeideas Today I made this for the second time. My non-keto husband loves these and prefers them over traditional scones (which he won't eat. Lol) They also freeze well and are easy to heat up.
      For my next Afternoon Tea I'm planning to have with friends I will be including these scones!
      Actually, I have my fancy china out right now as I am enjoying a cup of Earl Grey tea and one of the scones with whipped cream and keto raspberry jam. Yum!

    Tried them today. Did not have enough baking powder so used baking soda. They were a little soda-eee but still very good. Will make them next time with right ingredients because even though it was bad with the baking soda it was still good, if you know what I mean. Put butter and low carb syrup on one and it was excellent. On another I put a little chicken breast and good too. Okay, telling on myself, but on another two put some fresh cherries. So that was four. Did manage to wrap up the other four for later. But very good! Thank you! Oh, they were baking too fast in my oven so lowered the temp to 325.

    • @lowcarbrecipeideas
      @lowcarbrecipeideas  4 роки тому +1

      That sounds like an interesting adventure haha... With baking soda, we need to add an acid like apple cider or white vinegar to activate it. Almond flour is so moist hence I cant add anymore liquid other than the eggs. Baking powder is fine as it doesn't require any liquid. Hope you give it another try and thanks for your feedback .

    Just made these. Mine didn't turned out well. But tasted good. My dough was quite wet compared with what you showed in the video. It didn't have the crumbly texture while making the dough. It sticked to each other quickly. Is it because I used XL sized egg? Or melted the butter too much in my hands? . I refrigerated it before baking.

    There needs to be an alternative to erythritol because it is extremely painful for some people. You should offer an alternative sweetener. erythritol itself used to have a disclaimer on the front of the pkg. in big letters but someone somehow got it removed. Most likely you will do nothing as most people who reccommend it as a sweetener could not care less and don’t bother to let people know this.

    • @lowcarbrecipeideas
      @lowcarbrecipeideas  10 місяців тому

      This is an old video. I have started using monk fruit some time ago and I always mention that you can use any keto friendly sweetener as well. Of course, allulose browns too quickly so you may want to avoid it for baking unless you don't mind the darker color.

      Yes, you could try adding Parmesan cheese. That's a popular cheese for adding a good strong (but not too strong) flavor.
      You could also add a hint of garlic powder, maybe even onion powder too.
      Try a pinch of oregano powder.
      Even dried basil leaves.
      Then for more heavier ingredients you could try adding very finely chopped sun dried tomatoes. Not too much though.
      Then you could also try adding a hint of pumpkin and pumpkin seeds. Pumpkin scones are always a favorite. Throw in a pinch of cayenne to spice it up a little.
      Get creative. ;)

      @@chloehui4600 Low carb flours are quite moist so it may not turn out as dry as regular scones. The inside may look uncooked but it's actually just moist and buttery.
