Lyrics, I never knew what the hell this song was about as a teen until many years later. My guess was co-dependency in relationships. He had a way with words in this one. A lot of what sounds like dirty love making.

bruh i just turned 17 when this broke, being at that age, still so young with no real worries, but old enough you and your buddies are driven age, goin to shows every week, festivals, being that age 16 to say 21 ish at the time, we were real gen X, the slackers, we made sure the whole culture shifted and washed away the stank of the 80's and brought about voices to be heard, we young, angry (most of us for no real reason lol) and wanted to be heard and thats what nirvana did, and were in the middle of it
