Best review on youtube about these lights, the others i have seen wouldn't go into much details about the batteries and the differents softbox solutions.
the problem here of course being that, given jason's size (approximately that of a small european country), for all we know these lights could be the size of most domestic fridges.
That’s great. You could get a bunch of these into a backpack plus your camera and get a run and gun music video without make huge compromises. Beginners could start at a higher level nowadays that’s insane🤩Thx mate. Great video🤙🏼
@@philipewald9824 I wouldn’t say expected to start higher but it’s possible to make a much bigger first step and have the possibility to creat something that’s very close to what your picture looks like in your head. I think expectations of clients are always high. Don’t you think?
@@romankuhler clients expectations are always high yes, but i think now more than ever before because the gear is so easily accessible and the basics are quickly learned To put it in an extreme way, once everybody has nice flashes you kind of fall off quickly because you can‘t compete
does the dome diffuser come with the 100x when you got it? there's no where on the website that mentions the dome diffuser anywhere except for the soft box and the mini reflectors
I just picked one of these up to see how it compares to my other LEDs, completely agree with you on the gobo projector, that would be amazing, my Godox one i love it but it eats so much light
I bought a cheap projector and I plug my laptop into it for gobos, including video gobos and it works remarkably well. just a thought. the PJ was like 100 bucks
Probably the downside to this is when shooting in areas where insects strive (tropical countries), those lights attract flying insects, and may got sucked up by the open fan cooling of the light itself.
Amaran 60D is brighter, cheaper and doesn't require proprietary Battery Packs like the x100. The only thing it got going for it is that its really flat, so its easier to carry around, but double the price for that? No, thanks.
You would have to define “pro use”. Absolutely this can be used for professional work. There is no rule book stating you can’t use any equipment for professional work. If it gets the job done use it. If it fits the budget and use case that is required, use it. Some tools aren’t best for certain situations and other tools are required. This is a close minded response
Mate I believe in being truthful and genuine when telling someone about a product, and your thumbnail is misleading (i.e. not truthful, and not genuine), and so is the first clip in this video. Listen to me closely. If you just pick these lights up and try to turn them on nothing will happen. Why? Because you need to attach a power source. Since no one is buying these for the plug-in-the-wall socket usability, and primarily for the portability and small form-factor, this means you will have to attach a battery TO the light to make it work. Right? Yes, that's right. So just holding up a photo of the LIGHT by itself is dishonest and misleading. For the 60 W light you need to attach a battery power bank with a 60W output if you want to be able to use the full brightness of the light. This means you'll be lugging around something that probably weights 4-5 times the weight of the light. and will definitely be longer in size than the light also. So you cannot ever talk about the size of the lights unless you mention immediately afterward the power requirement and how that affects the weight and portability of the lights. It's not a perfect comparison but It would be like someone talking about how amazingly light a Tesla is, without mentioning the fact that the weight they were referring to doesn't include the 1,200 lb battery. The 100W light does have a battery grip but it expires after 30 mins at full charge. Meaning you are seriously limited in what you are able to do with it. 30 mins is nothing. At least not for someone hoping to get some professional usage out of this. I have some advice: Be genuine and honest in every moment. Do not ever do anything on this channel that will mislead someone. What matters is being honest, which is to be different than all the other youtube "creators" (you create nothing, ironically, you simply film things that other people created) who made a video similar to yours. You missed an opportunity to be different. Nah, you just fell in line with all the rest of them. And you can say "I talked about the power options, and the battery blah blah blah. Look at your thumbnail. Is that an honest thumbnail? Look at you talking about the small size in the opening of the video. Is that honest?
I gotta say you don't sound objective in this one, looks like a spot for Zhiyun. No cons? Do you really think they are cheap? They are powerful? Sorry, I respectfully disagree. Didn't mention the fan noise, the proprietary battery that lasts only 30 min, the actual power output sucks when you show it against the nanos...and they aren't cheap. They are small, that's what they are, some people need that, I am sure, but....

I swear, every time I watch a Jason Morris video I wanna get JACKED! We need some workout routine videos aside the photo/video stuff. 😂
hahahahahaha. Sending subliminal messages to everyone

Thanks for showing how it worked on a different attachment. Nice review!

sadly it feels like beginners are expected to start at a higher entry level otherwise their work is worth nothing

@@flipnap2112 what brand, model? I've been thinking of doing this but needs to be quiet.
Amazing review and stunning lights. Take care mate
thank you! good to see you back in the comments!
Jason, thanks again for another spot of excellence! Helpful! 🇺🇸💛🇦🇺
thanks for watching Glen
good review...would love to see Zhiyun come up with some type of detachable small fresnel
yes! a little ZY mount fesnel would be nice.
can you try mounting the g60 or molus on nanlite's projector mount. in theory it should work
G60 with 1/4" screw on the bottom of bracket and X100 with 1/4" threaded hole at the bottom. So they maybe mounted well on the projector I think.
@@chenlyn-cj8veSo theoretically there should be no issues with using a Nanlite PJ with a Molus? With the ZY to Bowens adapted of course
With these portable lights, do you have any recommendations for portable boom light stands for a truly portable setup?
loved the video. thumbnail isn't working though. i couldnt tell that it's a phone you are comparing it to...
Err, how are you meant to mount the X100 to a lighting stand without having to use the bowens mount adapter?
How large is that Nanlite Softbox?
The fan need to be swap out for RGB light! haha! another great review mate.
Any recommendations for x 100 tripod ? Or some stand ?
Wow. Zhiyun really pumped some money into influencers on this one. This is like the 20th video I've seen posted today 😂 looks cool though
It looks cool but it's illegal, Gerald Undone is the only one disclosing it properly. Reported this campaign to FTC.
@@isasisdxjasidj why is it illegal? ive not heard of that before

Could you make a more detailed comparison with those Smallrig lights? I can't believe such a small light is 100W !! That is crazy for portability
that's a great idea. They seem to have mastered cooling. That's usually where the bulk size is
What do you think about use the x100 for Real Estate showing minivideos 1-3 minutes long...?
Ok I need those!
so good!
you will need 2 other back-packs for the power adaptors
Hey Jason, does the Molus 60 or 100 have a light stand mount ? I don’t see any on the unit your demoing- tia!
oh yes it does. 1/4 inch mounts on both on the bottom
This is actually pretty sick
it is so cool!
wish they make a 200w version
probably soon.
That is amazing! How loud is the fan on them?
barely noticeable on the G60. Very slight noise from the X100 as it is a larger more powerful COB. You wont hear them when recording audio though
Probably the downside to this is when shooting in areas where insects strive (tropical countries), those lights attract flying insects, and may got sucked up by the open fan cooling of the light itself.
just put a netting mesh over the intake
@@flipnap2112 wow problem solver! great idea!
2:49 what is that cool softbox?
called a bowens mount lantern
Which audio interface do you use with your Rode Podmic ?
Zoom H5
Proprietary battery?
The G60 does bit have a proprietary battery. The X100 has a proprietary battery.
Fuck lights I want a gym channel from you 😂💪

I don't understand 100w equivalent or true 100w led (1000w equivalent) 100w is literally nothing! You need at least 200-500w for pro use.
