Hey, thanks for pointing out the inaccurate color temperature control below 10-15 percent. I've noticed that when I bought the light. I contacted Zhiyun and they informed me that it is a known issue across all units. I still decided to keep it, as there isn't anything comparable in the market as of now. Most reviewers don't mention the product's flaws, so I'm grateful you do. One other thing worth mentioning is that while the X100 and G200 can be used flicker free at all power levels and color temperatures (tested that with an electronic shutter at up to 1/8000 of a second), the G60 is flicker free until about 1/200 when using mixed color temperature or completely flicker free if set to either 2700K or 6500K.

A few years a go you done a comparison of 60w lights including the ML60 and Amaran 60D. Just an idea for a video but could do you a full comparison of all these lights including any new 60w lights you’ve got since and maybe even show them in a small studio set up? I think this would be immensely useful for a lot of people including myself! You could maybe even do a comparison with any 100w lights you have as well! Really love your videos
They get hot.. when you put a modifier in front is there a time limit on how long they can be on in the studio. Do the the lights need cooling time or will they burn items attached to them.
My experience differs, the battery life is shocking after just a few uses. As soon as I turned the unit up it would last 10 mins and die. Good light otherwise but more if it will not run itself
What size AC Portable Power Bank are you using for the G200? Wondering what level of power to run that light for a 2 hour interview on the Boost mode. I see various options on Amazon: like "Portable Power Bank with AC Outlet, 250Wh/67500mAh" I'm frequently doing interviews in remote areas with no power.
Great review!! Curious, can you power the X100 off of something like an Anker USB Powerbank? (and if so, any idea of how much batter time that would give you?)
Awesome review, How the Molus x100 compare to Amaran 60 in terms for LUX? In your reviews the Amaran got: 36,000 LUX in "Colbor vs Amaran" review (Amaran 60x) 25,600 LUX in Amaran VS Godox VS Nanlite (Amaran 60d) The 100X scored 24,300 in this review, so that means it's 100w is weaker then Amaran 60x & 60d lights?
Great job as always. Since you stressed several times in videos about how hot these lights are, are they hotter than the Amaran or Godox lights in the same output, and is it only hotter in front of the chip or is the whole unit hot? I am wondering if the excess heat will shorten the life of the chip? I think the form factor is incredibly convenient for a number of people, but the lack of a more prominent cooling system (which accounts for the size) might be a downfall. I don't know.
I wouldn't call it excessive, it's worth noting is all. I feel most folks don't consider the heat that comes off the front of lights like this. I've of course been in situations I forgot and melted gels or other things (haha). So, it's not bad, but time will tell if it ends up being different. They do run warm on the rest of the light heads, but that is common and expected on smaller light heads like these are
Thank you for the review! I got the 40W and 100W. Did you notice that the battery on the 100W version needs to be totally empty or it will create overpower when charging or not charge at all.
OMG! When you started wailling on that octbox! My heart nearly stopped. My gear is on the cheap side (NEWEER FTW) so I have to treat it VERY, VERY, VERY gently. LOL
Nice video! Molus G200 and Aputure 200X S are similar in price in my area. Which one produce a better and accurate light? Which one do you recommend? thx!
Great video! I was looking forward to this. I ordered the x100. How did you attach gobo on this light ? I have seen your video of using gobo on bigger lights.
Hi just want to ask. I own a Molus x100 and trying Godox Spotlight VSA36 on it, but it cast a circle shadow on the light projection. Any suggestion maybe? Also I saw you own a Godox Projection Unit in the other video, can you test it with Molus x100 ? Great video as always and thank you

Wonderful review! Great job and thank you. Question: How did you use a gobo with the molus x100 to create the window in the background as you mention? Thanks again!
Great video! Thanks for your work. Btw how can I get that gobo feature with the x100? On the other hand which maximum size of parabollic softbox you recommend with this x100 light? maybe 90 too big? Thanks again❤
Hi! When attaching the adapter to a softbox with a Bowens mount, the diameter of the softbox should be equal to or less than 60cm and the weight should be equal to or less than 1.3kg.
You said that it gets really warm after some time. I live in a hot climate country where even winter days are hot. So would overheating be an issue after hours of usage?
When reaching a certain temperature, the light will automatically turn off. Only after it cools down to a certain temperature can it be turned on again.
Hmm i can imagine the 200 cant handle softboxes very well as it is too smal and light. I guess it is too front heavy with a decent box so it does not really make sense as a studio lighr
Are these lights really the same in output at 5600k, or is that a typo? 23400 lux at 100% according to your table? I know the X100 reflector hotspot can probably attribute to this but still seems surprising that a “100w” light will put out the same as a “200w” light. More interesting also, is that on Zhiyun‘s website they list the x100 as having 60W of power.
Yeah that was a problem with export, it duplicated the slide. I put a pinned comment about the problem. The G200 is double the power and way more accurate. Check out the G20 review to see those readings: ua-cam.com/video/JPXyp-lBrOA/v-deo.html

Hey, I checked your channel talking a lot about Gears.. Where can I see you professional work using all these equipments.. you haven't linked your work as a film maker ... or may be I am failing to find those .. can you please link me to your film work
If you want an on cam light I'd say go with the Molus G60, it's lighter and center balanced unlike the x100, you'll just need to power it (not hard if you use v mount for your camera rig)
Was looking forward to this comparison. But I'm surprised no one is showing a sound recording of the fan noise - was there a reason you didn't record it?
I didn't because I've gotten many comments in the past saying it wasn't practical or useful. So I skipped it and just spoke on how it sounded to me. I would have used a decibel meter but it broke so I couldn't do that
@@FellowFilmmaker weird... I understand the mic right against the light isn't helpful but I'd love to know how it sounds in an interview setup - so essentially how it sounds if the mic is set up on a boom above the subject 5 feet away from the light. That would be very helpful 🙂
Thank you for a excellent comprehensive review.. you really helped me make my decision on which one to buy. Your videos are excellent! Keep Up the great work
I bought the Zhiyun X100 a couple of days ago and had an issue with the battery. It can’t be charged and I’m already using a PD 100W charger. Has anyone had the same issue?
Best Budget light especially if 60 vs 100Watt is that big of difference and in which usecases it is. If like for example the colbor 60 is enough as an key light for very soft light and on which distance or lens.
I love the X100... the only thing that kills me is the Bowens adapter... it just about holds a 120cm Octa... but it's not so strong. if they made a better adapter for it I would switch all of my godox leds to these as they just fit so nicely in a camera bag
why you using a 120cm octa on such tiny lights, you may as well just use a slightly bigger / cheaper light. Portability / size is the main selling point of these lights
@@finality4795 I need the portability but need good light too. I could get a bigger cheaper light but then would still need portable lights too so it ends up more expensive anyway
i have the same color problem at low percentages, from 4 to 5 % it literally just goes from cold to warm then to cold again. compact, light, yes. I was hoping to power it with vmounts from DTAP to AC, but it did not work. Probably should find Dtap to usbc. Next time will get something probably bulkier and just let the lighting people handle it.
Is there a UL (usa) or CE (europe) or CSA (canada) logo on the light or on the DC power supply and the battery bank? (always an important question for ALL camera gear; but especially for China lights; and most especially for lights which run super hot) Nice Heather that your light reviews include heat, and fan noise.
Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I took a look at the x100 battery and I see the following " EAC UKCA FCC " There is another where it looks like a C and the euro symbol but without the lines horizontally through it. However on the power brick it has the UL, EAC, FCC, and a few others. It is made in China, says right on them. Hope that helps a little bit.
ps... ALL legitimate manufacturers who sell in the USA send their products to UL (Underwriters Laboratories) to be tested and certified, after which they may display the UL symbol on their device. Legit manufacturers who sell in Canada submit their products to CSA for certification. Legit manufacturers who sell in Europe submit their products for a CE certification. ... The FCC symbol designates the product has been certified for the airwaves. (i.e. does not emit radio interference or exceed signal strength limits; and for transmitters, is within the correct frequency) ..... Products from big name manufacturers typically bear most or all the marks. (UL, CE, and CSA, and FCC) Look on the back of your name brand LCD tv, you'll prob see most of those marks. A majority of cheaply made Chinese products don't bear any marks cuz they cannot pass UL, CSA, CE or FCC tests. (plus they're def not interested in paying the testing fee!) If you use non-certified products you may one day come home to find your house burnt down.

What firmware was your x100? I didn’t see the color temperature issue but I did find mine was about 12% power at 1% (your photo metrics showed ~3% power at 1% dim) so maybe in the newer firmware they remapped the dimming so you can’t dim it enough to have color temp issues? But im not sure how annoyed to be about not being able to dim it that low, since it's possible I won't need to run it at
Actually I just got my 2nd one and tested it before upgrading the firmware and what I suspected is definitely true. Out of the box these output 3% at 1% and have extremely coarse/wrong color temps and don't respond to the android app well until you upgrade the firmware through the app and after updating firmware they output around 13% at 1% and have pretty accurate color temps and work well with the app.
Thank you for the excellent report. I had been concerned about the low-light performance issues of the Molus X100, but they have been improved in V1.8.2. Please give it a try.
The battery on my X100 failed two weeks ago, after 2 months of use. ZERO follow up from customer service. If you buy this cheap junk, be aware there is no customer care at all. It pisses me off, because I loved the light.

great tips and a review, ne last thing.. what power source did you use for using this out side?
I used a Jackery power bank 300w
thank you, shall have a look
@@FellowFilmmaker
where is the light reading of the G200? it's just the x100
Hey Heather , thanks for the review, curious about the weight (including the battery bank) if I were to use the 100 as an on-cam light for the gh5.
Which other alternative options that are travel-friendly would you suggest then instead of the G200?
aputure 300dmkii is good. Godox's M300 is pretty good as well. Forza 200 is alright as well
I should clarify that they are travel friendly in the sense they have v-mount, NOT that they are small and portable.
Awesome review!! Love the thoroughness and practical perspective. Great call outs on the color temperature accuracy at lower outputs.
Thanks for watching!
Thank you for a excellent comprehensive review.. you really helped me make my decision on which one to buy.
Your videos are excellent! Keep
Up the great work
Glad I could help!
Hey !! 😊 great video.
Where can I find that softbox diffuser 10:59?
@7:10 would love to know which power bank do you use to power G200 outdoor
Great comparison video. Really comprehensive and straight forward. Very natural. Good job! Helped me with which one to choose. Thanks! 👍🏻
Hi! What's the model of the power bank that you shown at 7:13 ?
And where can i buy it ?
Thank you
It's a Jackery 300w power bank
Thank you for this review, very informative 😇
glad I could help
I bought the Zhiyun X100 a couple of days ago and had an issue with the battery. It can’t be charged and I’m already using a PD 100W charger. Has anyone had the same issue?
olá querida, por favor diga como carregar a bateria do Molus X100
Best Budget light especially if 60 vs 100Watt is that big of difference and in which usecases it is. If like for example the colbor 60 is enough as an key light for very soft light and on which distance or lens.
60w vs 100w is a pretty big difference :D
This is exactly the review i needed!!
The heat it gives is a bit of a hazard though but create tight little powerfull light nonetheless
Glad I could help!
so at 300w boost will that apply to all color temps?
3500K-5100K
Good to know, thanks for sharing
im curious.... do you think that light modifiers will shift torwards SMDV/Apture Light Dome 3 type of flat bending softboxes?
It's possible I guess, but really things will exist in many shapes in forms since pricing will always be a factor
Is there a UL (usa) or CE (europe) or CSA (canada) logo on the light or on the DC power supply and the battery bank? (always an important question for ALL camera gear; but especially for China lights; and most especially for lights which run super hot) Nice Heather that your light reviews include heat, and fan noise.
wow. never thought about that! thank you
Thanks for bringing this to my attention.
@@FellowFilmmaker Rule of thumb, if something is not UL (usa) or CE (europe) or CSA (canada) certified , don't plug it in!
Great review as always👌👌
I appreciate that
Nice work!
Thank you! Cheers!
Hi, for me 4:15 colour temperature and 6.04 hot swapping where the most interesting points 🌟👏🏼👍🏼, 7:24 looks like Blue Screen 😊👌🏻🕺🏻, I prefer the m100, I own one and do only location tv so that’s been great, but maybe I’ll get the 200 because there’s always mains somewhere , thanks for that information, first time viewer, and I really find your videos are interesting I’ll be following you from now on , all the best Tom ,,,
Thanks for watching and commenting Tom :D Happy to have you
please note the USB C input will not work below 100 W output charger
Love the form factor, but the colour accuracy and fan noise and heat are an issue I don't have with my godox ML60's or VL 150's.
For sure, different power output lights
i have two Molus X100 and i love it
happy to hear that
What firmware was your x100?
Thanks for taking the time to share! It's possible the firmware is the culprit
@@FellowFilmmaker I confirmed it definitely is the firmware
👋Hello! Great videos, as always!
Can you please make a comparison video for stick lights like Godox LC500R vs ZHIYUM F100 vs AMARAN T2C ...
I'll see what I can do
Boom Shaka Laka. I love it
Haha yeah, I usually have some odd thing I say when I finish my take :D
That earned this follower 😂
what power bank you use for g200 outdoor ?
Jackery power bank
300wブースト時、本体の耐熱が気になります
Super nice video.
I didn't Skip
Thank you for the excellent report. I had been concerned about the low-light performance issues of the Molus X100, but they have been improved in V1.8.2. Please give it a try.
What did they improve ?
You’re kool! Glad I found your channel.
Welcome aboard!
Can we see that x100 gobo setup?
Just was a bowens adapter with a simple optical snoot on it
I bought 3 x100 off of your recommendation
neat! Hope you enjoy them very much
Great video, I am just waiting for those lights but RGB version 😊
Perhaps they will, who knows
@@FellowFilmmaker I hope 🙏
The x100 is a common issue at 10%. I'm finding that out as well.
good to know
Please make a review for ynlux 200 ❤
i am losing my mind over this, got the priviledge of trying the x100 out and it's insane... only thing they need to do is add effects to the app
true
Nice one! Thx
Thanks for watching and commenting!
Great video. Talk a litlle slower for not native speakers.
Thanks for watching
The battery on my X100 failed two weeks ago, after 2 months of use. ZERO follow up from customer service. If you buy this cheap junk, be aware there is no customer care at all. It pisses me off, because I loved the light.
Nice review, thanks. But wow, you can talk very fast. 🙂
I see in you the image of a wise, capable woman.
thanks!
