  • *** Check out this link as it has our most recent procedure for adjusting the wast gate: aftermarketass...
    In this video we explain how to adjust your waste gate actuator rod. This is necessary when running 16.5-17+ psi, or if your machine is not holding boost well. Springs in the actuator can wear out causing a low boost condition, or the turbo to work much harder to create the required boost.
    Make sure your tunes are designed for such a modification. Some tunes are developed with the waste gate blowing off (not correct) a little pressure. They jack the boost numbers up in the mapping because boost pressure was not increasing as it should. If you turn your waste gate up, you could see too high of boost numbers with other tunes.

    When adjusting the rod is the rod supported to tune inside the waistgate or just the coupler nut tune?

      If that happens just bottom the waste gate rod out. It will stop turning when it's nearly bottomed on the heim joint side. That will be perfect.

    How do you move wastegate to full open position to get to the adjustment nuts if you don't have a mighty vac?

    • @aftermarketassassins5491
      @aftermarketassassins5491  6 років тому

      Greg, you can simply use zip ties to the frame to hold the waste gate open if you don't have a mity vac. Any hand air pump could also be rigged up to do the same thing.

      So should the middle adjuster piece be moving towards the ball joint side (passenger side) or the drivers side? I moved it over 2 full turns toward ball joint side and can't get boost over 16.5. Seems like it runs well at lower speeds but has no power at WOT.

      Aftermarket Assassins do you turn toward the ball joint side to the left or turn it toward the waste right side ?

      All 3 you want to turn up. In the video he says use an 18mm wrench but the directions say a 17mm. I can NOT get to my inside 13mm nut. I'm kinda at a stand still with it.

      I had to order the wastegate pump...on my 2017 u could NOT get to that inner nut. I got the hose off but it appears that someone messed w this prior and right before the bend it seems a little mushed. Will this be ok?

I'm paralized from the waist down so I am doing it all from the passenger side and really can't see. Idk what to do now. I have no leaks or anything and cant get the boost over 14lbs or so. I had a 1127 code come up with my tune, wiggled it back n fourth and it went away. Would this help it? 1127 is over boost code

    • @aftermarketassassins5491
      @aftermarketassassins5491  4 роки тому

      1127 is actually a boost condition. It may be under boost. However if your waste gate rod was sticking, that could have been your reason. If it was an under boost condition, this adjustment might help. -Mike

      You will not need to change the WG back when going to level 2. It can remain tightened without any issue.

    Can u do this without a tune or does it have to have one

    • @aftermarketassassins5491
      @aftermarketassassins5491  6 років тому +2

      You will need a tune to do this, unless you suspect your waste gate spring is very weak. You can check pop off pressure with the mity vac and it should be around 5-6psi factory

    • @aftermarketassassins5491
      @aftermarketassassins5491  5 років тому

      Somehow we missed this comment, but you do need a tune to adjust the WG or you run the risk of overboost, and your RZR could be slower because the WG is not properly set.

    Or just cap off the vacuum hose by putting a bolt in the factory vacuum hose . Then by doing this the wast gate will not open .full boost at all times . much easier

    • @aftermarketassassins5491

      This would cause an overboost condition on an XP Turbo and it's never a good idea to block the waste gate as you will see turbo surge among other things.

      @@JesusGlzR1 its the factory blow off valve sticking, its an inherent design. after my experience, a new blow off valve that has a spring. which installed the correct way would eliminate the overboost code with it dumping boost psi while in vacume
