It isn't a volume knob that subwoofers have its a gain knob. Think of it like this, a volume knob is like a gas peddle and a gain knob is like a break peddle. So whatever you set your gain knob too the actual volume of the sub will know when to start lowering itself or breaking.

You’re absolutely right. Not sure why I said volume. Thanks!

Congrats on the 5k subscribers! Your videos are well done, keep it up. I thought you mentioned that you were going to post a playlist of all the music/movies you used to test the subwoofers....I'm interested in see that info so I can match my own sub against it.

would love to see this sub compared to the Monoprice Monolith 12 and 15 models. you can get 2 of the 12" models for the price of one of these and the 15" model is 1299.
see if you can get a set of the mono price sub's for review, that would be awesome!

I would say the Monolit 15 is the best "mid-range" subwoofer, when purchased on sale. Here in Canada at regular price the PB3000 is $1849 and the Monolith 15 is $2000, only $150 more. Recently I got the Monolith 15 on sale for $1497 CAD, making it $350 cheaper than the PB3000. Regardless, the Monolith 15 is a significant improvement over the PB3000 and for a very similar price point. As a bonus to us Canadians, they are making the Mono 15 easily accessible by selling it to us through Amazon. Don't get me wrong, I love SVS and currently own 2 PB16's, but credit where credit is due, the Monolith 15 is a much better choice performance wise than the PB3000. Of course you are losing the app functionality, but if performance is the most important to you, get the Monolith 15.

That's a little expensive for a 13" sub. I'm sure it blows the socks off of a 10", but can it stand up to the 15" and 18" monsters? For my money, I'd pay a little more and go with a PSA V1811, or pay a little less and try to snag a monolith 15" sub. I'd really like to see a comparison between these three.

I am torn between sb3000,pb 3000 and the sb4000. I have a large open room that has a kitchen and dining room behind the seating area. i am about 15ft from the tv and subwoofer. Thinking about duels but that would be in the future, 80% movies 20% music. front stage is Monitor Audio Silver 8s

I'm in the same situation and you might want to look into at least a 15" or 18". Check out the PSA V1811 for just a little bit more money, but it's a much more powerful sub.

Room size is 20*14*8 and subs. Would the benefit of the dual subs outweigh the performance of the 3000? Any info would be appreciated.

@@ThaVillaMan i am considering the same thing as fellow above . I already have a pb 2000pro , however i am reading that this pb 3000 offers a more mid bass chest slam experience. Is this true and if so will dual 2000 pros accomplish such?

1 question. Is there e LOT of difference between the sb and pb? Like. Is it worth the 500$ extra? Cuz i want to go for the pb. But if its not worth the extra $500 voor minimal extras. I might just go for the sb

Ok total female here and don't know much about subs but what is so bad about a sealed sub vs a non sealed sub?

    • @Bateman61405
      @Bateman61405 Рік тому

There’s nothing bad with sealed subs.
Totally depends on your room size/listening levels and what kind of content you’ll listen to most (music vs movies)
If money and size/footprint are not an issue, getting the largest (15 or 18 inch at least) most powerful sealed subwoofers you can is ideal IMO. The only caveat here is that you MUST buy at least 4 or 6 or even 8 if you can.
Sealed subwoofers will never give you port noise (because there is no port). The only true downside to sealed subs is that you just need A LOT of them to be able to play as low and as loud as a ported sub. This is why you’d need 4, 6, or even 8 sealed subs.
Having said all of that: getting 4, 6, or 8 sealed subs is just not possible for most people. You need a dedicated room and the physical space in your room to place them.
This is where ported subs come into play. 1 ported sub can play so much lower/louder than it’s sealed counter part (1 PB3000 vs 1 SB3000).
Regardless you should always have at least 2 subwoofers no matter what they are to get the best bass response.
If you like to listen to mostly movies and you like to crank it up to around reference level, you should be looking at ported subs.
If you have a dedicated room and $$ and floor space are not an issue, get at least 4 sealed subs (at least 15 inch drivers) and sit back and enjoy. Zero port noise and all the low extension and volume you’ll need
