    When I compared with my previous dual Jamo D7 THX ultra subwoofers, I felt the same. The Klipsch 115SWs were powerful but a bit boomy and had less control on deep bass. Thanks for the video.

      Thanks. The truth is is I have viewers on both ends of the spectrum. Most of my original videos I did not use REW And I would receive comments from a few saying that my opinion is fine but they wanted to see the results on a graph. So now what I try to do this provide a little bit of both

    Another great video youthman. Real world info for the average to above average home theater junkie. Youthman...this review is absolutely awesome. Great real world info and your enthusiasm and passion for the hobby always shines through.
    I value your opinion on HT equipment and I was subjectively sorta hoping the dual Klipsch would perform as well as the single PB3000 because that would make it financially easier to swing the Klipsh's and also keep the wife calmer. "The Klipsh's are cuter, and smaller too..." she says...🙄
    On the other hand, 2 PB3000's should be the end all "last subwoofer purchase" I SHOULD need...on paper. Of course, the quandry in this hobby is the constact journey for bigger, better, louder etc. Home Theateritis is a terrible desease...but I'll be alright, as long as I designate it as my doghouse...! 🤔

    • @Youthman
      @Youthman  5 років тому

      You are correct. As with any hobby, if you are serious about it, it does get expensive. But the best thing to do is build it over time, and even look for great deals on used equipment. I did that for the past 12 years of my audio journey

    I know it's been 5 years since you posted this video, but from what you remember Brother, would you recommend one SVS PB-2000 Pro subwoofer over one or two of these Klipsch R-115SW subs? Clearly, you liked the PB-3000 more than these Klipsches, but what about the PB-2000 vs these Klipsches? Thoughts? Seems everyone loves SVS and the prices have gone up since you posted this video it seems. God bless and thanks for your time.

  • @simplicity8480
    @simplicity8480 5 років тому +1

    Thank you for the quick follow up! Dropped a like on the video. I like that you noted the frequency drop off but that your preference was for how much cleaner/tighter the SVS bass was. While I have not heard the SVS PB3000, I have heard the smaller PC2000 and I have always loved how SVS subwoofers perform with authority. My current setup has a single Klipsch R-115SW and I agree the lower frequencies can sometimes seem a little "messy" but ever since i heard them, i cant go back :) Id probably have to go with PB-16Ultra is i was ever going to replace it but i am happy with my all matching Klipsch for now.

      Not really.
      The pb16 is cleaner than the klipsch, and it's also cleaner.
      He also tested dual pb3000 VS dual monolith thx 15. And monolith were as tight or even slightly more tight as the pb3000, having bigger driver.
      Tightness is a cuestión of driver quality (not size) and amp power and quality.

    Correct me if I'm wrong, the pv3000 is inside a sealed box. So in actuality your comparing a sealed sub to a ported subwoofer. The ported box is going to give you more bass and not roll off as much. The seal box the bass is always tighter n punchier so its about preference. I doubt it is a good and fair comparison. When one talks about “clean” subwoofer sound, one should cut off all frequencies below 20Hz. Vibrations below 20 Hz will effect the “clean” tones. I have set a low frequency cut off on my Anthem ARC and the R115 became much cleaner and more punchy. I think in your room with 2 Klipsch subs the effect will even be more pronounced. From your frequency curves from last vid, one could easily predict, that the SVS PB will sound cleaner as it rolls off at 20Hz

    • @Youthman
      @Youthman  5 років тому +1

      The reality is most will not be editing the rolloff of their subs but I agree, it would likely clean up those low frequencies

    • @santiagoezquerrocordon1470
      @santiagoezquerrocordon1470 Рік тому

      Low frecuencied are more difficult to handle, so when you remove them, the rest of frecuencied get more in control (tighter).
      It's a cuestión of driver quality and amp power and quality.
      Monolith thx 15 is as tight and clean as the pb3000 and it's also a sub which can hit really hard 10hz in room.
      Maybe the problem here is that klipsch didn't use the quality components the subwoofer needed to play frecuencied under 20Hz, so the trik you are doing it should have done by klipsch.

    not enough videos here on UA-cam dive into the buyer's remorse or the "what if" factor. I started with a single SVS PB-1000. I was absolutely blown away by the output of that sub when I first heard it. So entirely blown away, that suddenly my budget nearly tripled and I bought dual SVS PB-2000's. Then I heard about JTR Subwoofers. Went from Dual SVS PB-2000's to Dual JTR Captivator 2400ULF's. Any normal human being should be completely satisfied with the 2400's in a room that measures 12x19x8. If I could go back to the beginning and help myself make a proper decision, I would absolutely choose the biggest single subwoofer/enclosure I could afford rather than smaller dual subwoofers even from the same brand. Get your Endgame subwoofer first, work on multiplying it later. You'll save so much money in the long run (several years after you read this)

    What are your thoughts on the SVS SB-2000 Subs? Im considering a pair of those. With 500W amps and small size I think they would be perfect for my space.

      I have not heard the 2000 series. Only the 3000 and 16 Series

      @@Youthman That's my struggle. Im interested in swapping out my B&W CM9 S2 and ASW CM10 S2 fronts and sub with Klipsch RP-8000f and SVS Sub since as far as I can tell, especially from both yours and the Audiophiliac's reviews of Klipsch that it would fit my musical tastes of classic and modern hard rock better, as well as have great home theater application. Problem is no SVS or Klipsch dealers in my state and I really don't like buying audio equipment without having listened to them first.

      It is very difficult to buy sight unseen, which is why I try to offer videos on my channel from a consumer’s perspective.

    Great review. It's sooo interesting. I hear this time and time again, but normally it's people comparing sealed vs ported. Whichever sub extends the least ALWAYS is reported to sounding more tactile and cleaner, and faster. EVERYTIME! I'm convinced it's really just a product of frequency response. The lower the bass the less tactile, and the slower (litterally a function of the soundwave) ot sounds and feels.
