Checked out Amazon's feedback comments. Very good with bidirectional abilities. Thanks for this video!!! I highly recommend others subscribe to your channel! I am, and I am very impressed!
You're welcome Taner! Unfortunately I have not reviewed the Mini, Thinksafe or Thinkdrive so I can't comment on their differences. But I will see if we can add to the list of scanners to test (list is getting longer by the day! LOL) Cheers!
Hi Mary! Advanced scanners like the Thinkdiag and also basic scanners work on hybrid vehicles. Remember hybrids still use standard OBD2 protocols (Thinkdiag supports ISO 14230-4, 9141-2, CAN 15765-4, 14229 and SAE J1850) You may just need a basic scanner like this amzn.to/3sUnUR3 (which again supports the most common OBD2 protocols) And if you need to access advanced features on your vehicle like coding, relearn etc then an advanced scanner like the Thinkdiag may make sense or Thinkdiag 2 if you need CAN FD support. Thinkdiag does accepts VIN numbers if you want them to check if it will be able to access the specific function you need. Cheers!
Hi M Virdi! you can buy additional modules (like the Tesla module, wireless battery monitor add on or TPMS wand add on ) if desired in addition to the ones it comes with but honestly I just use it as it came, it has more functions that I have ever used or that I even don't know how to use lol Cheers!
@@AlexAutoFun Hi 👋 I am in U.K. and I have three Cars 🚗 Range RoverSV Autobiography L405 Chrysler Grand Voyager Mini Cooper is this thindiag cover my car please 🙏
That is nice car collection (I personally always wanted a Mini S) you can see the brands models the ThinkDiag supports at the 2:05 mark. The OBD2 functions will work with several cars, the service functions are the ones that will work on one model. So I recommend this tool for someone who just needs to work on one particular car model. If you own several different car models like in your case and you want access the service functions for all of them, then you may want to instead look into a full size scanner like the X431 here ua-cam.com/video/9qwJlUEWN9A/v-deo.html just remember the cost of the tool will be much higher. You can also buy additional car models in the ThinkDiag App but I would only recommend doing so if you really need to use them since the updates expire one year after purchase of the additional model. Same with the X431, only buy it when you are ready to use it as the updates on that one also will expire if you choose not to renew them at the of the support period. Hope this helps, Cheers!

@@mvirdi2333 You're welcome! ah the XTool 100, I haven't tested that one but I heard good things about it, probably as capable if not more than my X431...
Hi Alex if my 2018 Explorer heated seats stopped heating, can this tool find the problem? When I push the heat seat button the light comes on but no heat is being delivered....
Hi MyNicePC! ah yes some cars do have sensors for the heated seats that could potentially set a DTC, however it may also not have sensors or be connected to the ECM to be able to set a DTC. Launch accepts Vin numbers, so they can check if the tool will support the function you need it to before buying, however imo even if the tool gave me DTC it maybe a typical, Circuit High or Circuit Low DTC which really only tells that the circuit is either broken or in contact with ground or positive when it shouldn't. I would still have to physically inspect the wiring to find the issue. So a DTC in this case maybe of limited help. Hope this makes sense, Cheers!
Will this scanner be able to scan ABS and Traction fault code on a VW Polo arising because of faulty ABS sensor..and will be able to erase the fault code or callibrate the same.
HI Ashish! Correct, the scanner supports support ABS however the actual PID's you will be able to read will depend on your car depending on which sensors it has and which of those sensors can communicate to external tools. ThinkCar does accepts VIN #'s if you want them to check if it will be able to access the function you need before buying. Cheers!
Hi T! If the milage has been modified, it may have been modified in multiple places making detection difficult if not impossible. However yes on some vehicles where the milage is stored in several places, and not all of them were updated, a discrepancy may be detected but again the true mileage will be unknown. There are also other more advanced ways to determine if the ECU has been manipulated but they require specialized equipment and usually again they can only reflect that change was made but not what the change was. Cheers!
Hi Mary! Yes Chrysler is on the vehicle coverage list as shown in the video. Thinkcar also accepts VIN numbers if you want them to check if it will be able to access the specific function you need (being able to activate, or program a specific component or feature varies from vehicle to vehicle as they have different levels of control, some allow you to active more things than others). Cheers!
Hi Mohamend! It's very likely that it can, however you can always send in your VIN to ThinkDiag, they are able to check if the scanner supports the special function you are trying to access or recommend a different model if required. Hope this helps, Cheers!
Hi George! The Thinkdiag does not expire, as explained on the video what expires are the updates. Here is my follow up video where I explain this in more detail ua-cam.com/video/Q3lnh7vYwVw/v-deo.html Cheers!
Hi Go Canada! this is the newest version of the ThinkDiag (TKD01) are you thinking of the other versions of it? they have the ThinkDiag2, ThinkDiag Mini and the Thinkdriver (each have their own different levels of support). Regarding the BlueDriver, as far as I can tell, it's only a diagnostic device, the ThinkDiag is a bidirectional scan tool but I have not tested it yet (may have to add to the list of scanners to review). Hi Audrey! correct the APP currently requires the location to work (while this does not bother me, I do think I may be unnecessary but it also seems to be a common requirement on the different bidirectional scan tools I have tested) however the internet is only required if you are trying to do run the smart diagnosis or service function (since the APP needs to connect to the NTSA vin database to obtain your cars info) however if you are not in range of the interne you can still use the OBD2 functions of device such as reading DTC's reading live data etc but if I do run into a bidirectional scanner that does not require internet and/or location I will let you know. Hope this helps, Cheers!
