The only option would be to completely remove the tax exemption from religious organizations completely which Congress has to intention of doing that.

GET IT LIAH! I'm in the process of finishing your series and it's very revealing and greatly produced.
Leah Remini is an amazing woman, I completely admire her for her bravery and I'm happy she is telling peoples stories!
I love Leah Remini. Someone who is exposing this cult and helping out people . She's tough as nails.
Congress could have put an end to this, and probably still can, by removing there tax exempt status, witch they do NOT deserve!
Leo//// They would just reinstitute the 1000 lawsuits against the IRS.
Scientology owns billions in real estate. Thats where most of the cash flows.
Leo Roberts, not really. Congress fucked up with the religious tax exemption from the get go and it's too late to redefine what is religion because any move towards going back to the drawing board and the lawsuits will be falling left and right. The only option would be to completely remove the tax exemption from religious organizations completely which Congress has to intention of doing that.
DD LL The religious tax exemption at the very least must be revised and made extremely strict. Certain practices must disqualify any organization that does not follow them to the letter.
There obviously must be immediate consequences to the systematic abuse and harassment of IRS agents. That alone should disqualify them from tax exempt status as a church!
But that’s just an end to their tax exempt status
I sometimes sit and dream of what it would be like to see an interview where the interviewer just asked questions and allowed the interviewee to speak
Graham norton is the only one who has that ability
Agreed. Throughout this clip I kept thinking to myself "shut the fuck up Bill and let her speak!".
Graham Norton is an excellent host. Love his show.
Try British tv, most are good, but Graham is a king
that's just what I was thinking... he wouldn't shut up
"For there is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed, and nothing concealed that will not be known or brought out into the open."
Jesus was not wrong when He said this.
And I applaud this woman because she had the courage to face such an evil sect as scientology. I agree with her, it should vanish.
Preach!!
Margarita, you are just as brainwashed as a Scientologist. Jesus did not exist. Your religion is a religion. Think.
@@MPAAsuckscock your name explains your comments. Sick
@MPAAsuckscock where is your evidence for this claim? There is sufficient evidence not only for the existence of Jesus, but also for his death and resurrection, as well as sufficient evidence for the creation of the universe, which therefore necessitates a creator.
@@MPAAsuckscock how foolish is that staement Jesus didn't exist read your history book now if u dont beleive he is,who he said he was thats fine. You are like saying Napoleon didnt exist.
I'm glad she made her life better by leaving that cult . I love her voice, it's very deep and unique to me.
I love Leah Remini and her show. 😍😍
bravo Leah, the best is yet to come 😘
Major props to Leah Remini. I'm wondering if there's ever been a study done of ex-cult members to see if there is a common theme of what got them to leave whatever cult they were in. That kind of thing might help others get out of the cults they are in.
I read her book and then watched her show and she is just such an awesome person...give it up for Brooklyn! lol but seriously she is dedicating herself to saving families and lives and exposing the lies and abuse that this "church" does to its members...hopefully thanks to her and people like her this cult will end! GO LEAH!
Leah is such a survivor ! Respect for her
"THE ONLY WAY YOU CAN CONTROL PEOPLE IS TO LIE TO THEM. You can write
that down in your book in great big letters. The only way you can
control anybody is to lie to them."

The only way to really hurt someone is to break their nose. Did I say break their nose?!
Moron!
Leah is an amazing woman. I love that she takes responsibility for her part and also had the incredible courage to FIGHT one of the most evil religions on the face of this earth.
While at the sametime hauling around that perfect butt, she is so fucking hot
I really admire her for speaking out against the evils of Scientology. The "church" is so nasty and retributive toward former members that speak out. So awful! She is a very brave lady!
She is a courageous warrior. Respect.
Tom Cruise is gonna be making some phone calls in the near future
D Nice "you're sued! YOU'RE sued! you! you over there! you're sued!"
She said John Travolta basically has a license to kill and the leaders of scientology will cover it up. In scientology lingo Travolta is called a Kakhan.
6:30 Yeah if Tom Cruise is really a victim to Scientology he could really end the abuse
Tom Cruise has more important things to do
Andrew Hagan cob loves Tom Cruise their best buddies. John Travolta not so much
When Bill Maher says "You're doing God's work," you're on the right track.
👏👏👏🙏🙏😊😊 Amen Leah ! Thank you for being truthful! 👍👍. Keep it up!
I really like her, she is a beautiful woman and seems very genuine.
she is fuckin amazing!
Leah is such a class act.
She is woke!!
I wish Maher had spent more time interviewing this woman than he did feeding the Bruno troll.
Bless you Leah. Your bravery and courage are monumental. Thank you.
Leah Remini is courageous, I admire her greatly.............
good to see Leah so happy in her life, I know it must have been hard to leave a organisation like that after having been part of it for so long but really seems to have started a new life for her being able to be open and free looks like its really has done her well.
Amazing bravery ...great show...learned so much
I don't watch Tom C.
..not anymore. He should be ashamed of himself
Wish people would just LET HIM GO.
He's brainwashed too & buys into his godliness. I believe that's why he tries these crazy stunts in his films. I'm afraid he'll die one day doing one.
I use to be a HUGE TC fan. Especially in the '80's. Now...the man is such an idiot that I would step over him if he needed air.... Let Xenu help you.
I can’t stand to watch him either! When I see him all I can think is what a weak person he is and how his ego is sooooo inflated, that it is disgusting! Thank God his child escaped this cult thanks to a loving and caring mother!
She saves lives great woman
whod she save?
@@millbert people who might join scientology/who are in scientology/who are connected to scientology
fearedfizzle are u dumb?
Grate interview....
Go Leah go I am cheering you on yes..
God bless Leah. It's almost like her character on King of Queens manisfests. So cool.
How Scientology exists is a genuine mystery. Credit to Leah for highlighting it is an evil, self serving, horrid cult.
I really admire women who walk away from religion, they are more vulnerable to religion for various reasons, so it really takes courage.
I figured out that Scientology was a crock when a Scientologist called me and asked me to come to his office for an audit and I said "What's in it for you?" and the guy totally lost his sh-t and began yelling. I hung up on him, and that was the end of me thinking of Scientology as something even half way respectable.
Scorch1028 lmao I was at a festival. In Tampa ybor and they had a booth set up and just they way they worded things creeped me out enough to never go back . Oddly enough I a Mormon but at least we can leave if we want to lol
I love Leah, I hope this show will be on Netflix one day, I think everyone needs to be able to watch it ❤️
How about abc cbs or nbc so no one has to PAY for it?!
Great interview and information. Thought provoking!
Love her series on it on A&E there are more than I realized! It’s pretty messed up, and proud she is getting the story out.
To be totally honest my dad claimed it to be a cult, but that was so many years ago. It’s terrible that they feel they have to brainwash folks. This should be stopped and the rest need to be rescued, jmo
She is a gem. Kevin James and her were as good as Jackie Gleason and Audrey Meadows were in the Honeymooners. She has guts to stand up to these cultists.
"The Honeymooners?!" LOL! Bro... Leah Remini & Kevin James were in 'King of Queens" TV show!
@@collinjames9201
We're well aware of that.
You misconstrued the comments
@@keepcool319 WOW! Your right..! Thank goodness i'm only human ;))

@@keepcool319 Nayyyh....! I did miss read the comment, he was just comparing King of Queen's too the Honeymooner's is all. And i was bit druk 3 weeks ago when i first read it to so...that.
Ex-Mormon here. We were not allowed to "look" or ask either. Specifically about our history.
I worked inSLC the nurses gave me tickets to attend the 6 month “meeting” can’t remember what she called it, she explained as a huge gathering with many members and elders , she kept calling it a meeting or something in downtown slc- I told her that would be amazing because I have so many questions I would be glad to get up and ask ,,, she took the tickets back :) once a year church or something I don’t know enough about it ,,, 3 mos contract in hospital and I was ostracized bc that all happened first week ,,,, woooo way to go st marks hospital , not exactly happy folks , happy when they think you are a possible conversion, but you’re the scourge once they realize your not on board,,,ahhhh religion of love
Lea Remini looked really good in that dress!! 👀
She's so pretty
She knows what she is talking about. I know. Love her. Strong woman.
I was an Elder of the Jehovah's Witnesses. The policies between them and Scientology are pretty similar.
Shes always wearing those types of dresses and she always looks *BOMB* 🔥
Its such a deviation from most Hollywood norms.... and its great.
Keep it up Leah you’re doing a great job
"youre doing gods work". Haha!
I know! lol Bill outdid himself on that one :p
Yeah...what was that last little comment about? That totally threw everything out the window for me...when I say it I am being sarcastic (not because of God but because the person is obviously doing something totally reprehensible) ....but for him to say that and add, "wink wink" tells me he was saying, "Yeah, cause we both know we're tied to a whole OTHER cult in the entertainment industry and one thing's for sure, it isn't GOD who is pulling our strings..."
Are you thinking about some illuminati bullshit? That myth is just as fake as scientology. Wink, wink meant because "You're doing god's work" (lol because we all know there really is not such thing as "god") That's why he said "wink, wink".
+Aaron A Well, thats a fantastic claim. So fantastic in fact, I dont think anyone will believe you without proof.
dcgfhgjnzgfnjcbgn Especially since Maher keeps saying how he is an atheist and works as a platform for atheism
Xenu is displeased with this. When he makes his triumphant return, on an intergalactic DC-8, he will start with Leah Remini. Then make Tom Cruise his bitch.
TOM CRUISE = LEGEND
Sarah Smith yes but the Scientology thing has to stop.
Una !
scientology is atheist. that xenu bullshit is an excuse to be a religion and get tax cuts.
Carlos Soto you have now displeased Xenu!
Leah, you are one of the biggest hero’s of our time👏🏻💖 praying that Almighty God will protect you🙏
she's changed a lot. good for her and what she is doing
Love her.
I love you both😂😂😂keeping it real, always.
more power to her. jersey girl!
"Save me Tom Cruise"---Rickey Bobby
Thank youuuu Leah❤️💥
Isnt she scared for what could happen to her if she "exposes" too much? Im worried for her, but i also have so much respect for her and glad she's flipping the lid on all of this and exposing it. She's the idubbz of hollywood doing a content cop xD
Preach!!
Simple. If they persecute you for leaving a so called faith, IT IS A CULT !
Thank you
Hahahaha. 8:07 I never thought I´d hear Bill Maher say, "You´re doing God´s work."
