I have found that you do not need to cut the bottom of the bag. water will wick right through it just fine, as long as it is in contact with the soil below. you can also just use coco core or peat moss as the wicking medium. I like what you doing. keep up the good work and sharing of knowledge.

Pure Genius. this saves time and really gives the gardner more free time with God and family. To water one every 3 weeks or like in them other videos with the large trash can containers once a month, is so awesome!

Could you use the rectangular tote like the round one? Just increase the length around and the middle. Put the hole in both ends.
Leon I've been using raised beds for past 30 years for my tomato plants & am planning to switch to your type of growing system ((wicking tub), What should I expect production wise? I expect higher production from a wicking tub but not quite sure how much more. Any estimate ? Thank you for the great videos.

I'm wondering if I can use a double stack of 4 inch Irrigation flexible drainage pipe as you do in a 45 gal. Tote. Its roughly 4 feet long x 12 in wide x 18 inches deep.
Couldn't locate the six inch diameter or would you just run 3 parallel pieces of 4 inch and the fill with favorite mix?

I noticed at tractor supply company they have a 17 gallon feed tubs is that suitable for growing in for growing in one plant much like the larger feed tubs.

This was the 2 nd year using the tubs not sure what went wrong in the beginning everything went well but my eggplant was so bitter not edible.
instead of cutting the bottom of the grow bag will water not wick up from heaping bucket thru bottom of grow bag ? I would rather not cut my bags

Yes you can. I do both dahlia tubers and seeds

What's difference between potting mix and potting soil ?
Mix is light while soil is heavy and will make a heavy soup with this method.
As long as we have sun , seeds and dirt I don’t see how we can have a shortage of food IJS

Are totes like this food safe plastic? I feel like the water would soak chemicals off the plastic, which the plant would absorb, and then we eat. I know it sounds extreme but I feel like it would be noticeable.
