- Anne and I have a UK sista in Jane and we were invited to her and husband David’s house in the Nottingham area for a long weekend. We had such an amazing stay and Jane and David are the most awesome hosts. Thank you both!
After you see what we saw and did I bet you’re going to want to visit Nottingham and surroundings too, so check out the links below!
Chatsworth House is a must if you visit this area. So much to see and do and my favourite part of the house was Chatsworth Renewed

Watching in October 2020 ohhhh how I miss traveling 😢 Trying to remember that COVID will be gone one day and we can all discover new places once again. Beautiful video~ I actually slowed down the playback so I could get a good look at all the charming shots.
It must be nice living in Europe where all other countries so close and can go for a weekend.
It is very nice!
I like the comment that flashed briefly, "So deliciously British" when scanning the guy with long hair in period costume......😂😍
What fun! It's been 20 years since I've been to England. Think I should plan another trip!
Shelly Dowell You should!
What a beautiful video - I almost felt like I was right there with you on the trip. :) Another part of England that I need to add to my must visit/travel list. ♥
Vonda Kirkpatrick It was an amazing few days!
I have just found this video ... It's brilliant .. I live in SOUTHWELL !!! Your video totally sums up the Britishness .. Glad you had a great time here. If you visit again .. please call in for a cup of tea :)
You have done an amazing job showing off my home city. Great content as always!
Awesome! Thank you!
Handsome tourguide (2:00).. 😁
And I like the colourful british & irish doors too!
..You don't happen to have the recipe for the shepherds pie??
🙊
I know this is an older video Benita - but I enjoyed it so much! I live in Northern Ireland but Chatsworth is my favourite place to visit in England! Such a grand, but also such a friendly, relaxing place! It’s fabulous at any time of the year! So lovely to see you and your friends enjoying it💞 x
How nice! I used to live in Sheffield and went to Nottingham a couple of times for plays. Nice town. Love the history (Robin Hood).
And Chatsworth! I’ve been several times. My faves are the marble statue gallery and oak room. And the rock garden.
You just made me very homesick! I'm from Rugby just over an hour from Nottingham.
Thanks for sharing! Looks like it was a great trip.
Debbie From Illinois It was amazing!
Wow....It was great to follow all favorite spots while in England. I love it. I live in England (Cambridge) for 8 years and I still miss it deeply. I might be out of England although England is going to be for ever deep inside me.😪🌹❤
My grandmother was born in Nottingham. I thought about going to see one day but after your video, it’s on my bucket list! Thanks!
Aw, I've missed traveling during Covid, especially to the UK (even missed my friend's wedding there), but this video was a great "visit" for me. Thank you!
That does not look like Nottingham!
Get Fit Nottingham Nottingham and surrounding areas. Beautiful!
Wonderful trip! I also love Britain😍
Hi Benita, I am watching your videos ( again) 😊. Are you keen on travelling? Are you the kind of person that goes on weekend getaways inside your country too? 😌
I enjoy traveling t but mostly abroad!
Looks like you did all the best bits! I like traveling with you!😊
It was a wonderful stay and we had the best guides!
Thanks for sharing 🌻
How lovely!!
Does every British town have High Street?
I remember the blue door about 13m from the corner.
They appear to! Or it might just be that the main street is called the high street if it has shops on it. Not sure to be honest : )
High Street refers to the main
city street. The Brits have names
for everything. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Pretty much yes. Even if it’s not actually called ‘high street’. Most people will refer to their immediate local shopping area as the high street. As in ‘I’m popping up the high street’ . The nearest big shopping centre would be referred to as ‘town’. So for example,
Me - I’m going to the post office.
Other person - up the high street?
Me - no, the main one in town.
Just writing this reply make me realise how odd local patterns of English must be to learn 😀
Most towns have a street called "High Street", but Grimsby in Lincolnshire doesn't! Oxford has a High Street, but locals call it "The High"!
