I just bought mine today 31k same color with tan interiors, the stop engine if you have air conditioning on it will turn on the engine automatically after few seconds to keep the temperature constant. I’ll send the car to a paint shop to paint all the chrome finish and rims black. For 31k there are not SUV with those tech packages and 5yrs/72k warranty. Nice review tho.

Too many here crying about how we get “crap” and Europe gets the “BEST”. Apparently they don’t understand the US mainstream car market. Here we want DURABILITY. We want reliable mainstream cars. And that’s the reason why the Tiguan doesn’t get BS like DCC or DSG for example. We also pay 30-50% less and we get a 6 year warranty. Euro markets do not get that. On another note, we get the Atlas (with GTI engine) and also a GLI (with GTI engine, DSG and DCC). Stop asking for DCC and DSG in a freaking family SUV you noobs. VWoA is doing the right thing.
You don't emphasize the most important factor in the de-contenting of US spec VW models. VW has found over and over that Americans aren't willing to pay what Europeans pay for VW's. For example, a top trim GTI in Germany has an MSRP well over $54,000. I purchased a loaded Autobahn GTI with DSG last year in the Seattle area for $32,043 plus TTL. It's no wonder that the US spec GTI lacks a number of features available on the Euro spec model.
Just got this in platnium silver.... I'm loving I'm just bummed the R-Line didn't have certain features (break assist/lane assist/folding mirrors/automatic lift gate w foot.... I don't know why it had those features :( but my question is how do I play movies or play UA-cam on my screen? Does anyone know?
The climate control menu gives a visual representation when you press the buttons for for defrost, feet, head, and temperature. It displays arrows where the air is coming from.

Why is the led headlights such a huge deal VW? And the engine produces only 185 bhp and yet the mpg is 22/29. ‘Almost’ the best crossover. But its going to be a huge disappointment for VW.

Our european Tiguan R-line is so powerfull looking. All LED lights, quality is on the TOP !
The Euro version also gets a DSG transmission, larger screen, and the engine from the GTI or a very powerful diesel. VW America always gives us crap.

the headlight / foglight and brakelight need to be full LED. Front end looks great but no LED is bad and outdated. nice suv otherwise.

I'm confused. Looks like they went "backwards" with the design. The 2018 R- Design had a LEDs and a better overall sporty feel with dark accents.
Only SEL Premium comes with LED headlights with R Line or without. Checkout their vw.com
