I was rooting so hard for Rafa, the first set tiebreak pretty much had me screaming Especially when he hit the pass to save set point, and again when he hit the pass to convert his own set point. But I actually felt depressed when this match ended the way it did :( Fair play to both, even though it was just 1.9 sets it was a thrill while it lasted. 3h03 for 2 sets and the 2nd set tiebreak wasnt even played. Truly astounding stuff.
Yep and I think Zverev would have won had he not gotten injured, so it was nice to see Zverev beat Nadal at RG this year after the heartbreaking incident that happened to Zverev.

Zverev again choked and showed he has no tennis IQ He had two options: 1) Nadal was 6 meters behind the baseline and Zverev was so close to the net,he could have played a low quality drop shot and still would have won the point. 2) could have played in Nadal’s backhand But no ,he makes the same mistake he already did few points before when he had another set point and plays into Nadal’s running forehand.
Sasha’s cries still get to me on such an elemental level. It’s just chilling and so devastatingly sad. I’m so happy he’s back, healthy, and winning tournaments, but by golly do I wish Nadal hadn’t drawn him as his first round farewell RG.

I remember this match, the conditions played into why it was so long and physical. For some reason Roland Garros decided to keep the roof closed and Chatrier doesn’t have de humidifiers so the humidity was extreme. Rafa said it was one of the more uncomfortable matches he ever played. I hope he get to play outdoors be Zverev this time cause outdoors favors Rafa
With all due respect, please...the way he choked in the first set...I won't be so sure. Sure the match would've been very close but Zverev would've most likely lost...especially if it went to the fifth set. Choking under pressure is the no.1 reason Zverev hasn't won a slam yet.

Solo vi el primer set, no me gustó Nadal, si bien siempre resta muy atras esta vez sus devoluciones (las que podia devolver) eran tiros blandos al centro que pasaban por muy poco la red, solo que zverev incompresiblemente ha tenido errores muy alarmantes, otro jugador un poco mas fino le ganaba facil a ese Rafa 6-1 ese set. La mayoria de puntos de Nadal eran por errores groseros de Zverev que era quien dictaba la situacon porque la mayoria de sus puntos eran por wiinners. En resumen un 7-6 totalmente engañoso debido a los muchos errores de zverev y a un Nadal demasiado pasivo. Lo poco rescatable ese passing en el tiebreak que evitó que ganara el set el aleman.
Todo dependerá de las condiciones, si hay mucha humedad Zverev dominará pero si esta soleado y la pelota bota más pues será un juego más reñido. Ese juego que tuvier9n en el 2022 se veía una pelota de Nadal que no botaba y le quedaba cómodo al alemán para golpear sin problemas y el factor era lo húmedo que estaba el ambiente
@@angelandresinfante4791 buena acotación, recuerdo en 2018 unos cuartos de final con Shartzman que el argentino lo domino por completo ganando 6-3 y 3-2 con saque, el clima era humedo y los tiros de Nadal no hacian daño. Por suerte se suspendio por lluvia. Al dia siguiente se reanudo con sol y Rafa lo dio vuelta muy facil creo con un parcial de 16-2 desde ese momento. Mucha diferencia. Ese RG 2018 fue el unico set que se dejo en el camino. Otrao que recuerdo es la final con Djokovic en 2012, donde despues de ir 2 sets arriba facil empezo a ser mas humedo y seco el ambiente y djokovic empezo a remontar, gano el tercero y se puso break arriba en el cuarto me parece, luego regreso el sol y Rafa lo termino ganando en 4 sets.

Some great highlights but majority of the match was lots of unforced errors and mistakes in the rough conditions.
