Wow so many amazing and gorgeous books. Anne of green gables is one of my favourite books. I think I will look for a nice edition. Enjoy them all and lovely to meet youv😊
Yay for your first penguin clothbound! Little Women is a good one. I remember it fondly, I read it when I was quite. Yay for even more classics editions! Dr jekyll and mr hyde is so iconic and I really liked it too. Love Anne of green gables and I have read the first three books in the series so far, but watched two of the adaptions through to completion. The boy, the mole, the fox and the horse is such a lovely read and that is a nice random act of kindness. Love frankenstein, it is one of my all time favourite gothic novels and we have matching editions!!
I was so pleased with my new copy of Frankenstein! Good to hear that you liked Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, I'll probably pick it up in October. I remember watching the old Anne series, probably in the late 80s/early 90s, that was great.
What a great selection of books. Lots of good books to read. I do love a second hand bargain. Your face when you opened your Blind Date with a Book 😃 You look so chuffed.
I love that you were able to get a beautiful clothbound edition. Was it secondhand? I frequently watch the Little Women movie at Christmas time. (The one with Winona Ryder, not the newest one.) Ooh, what prompted your learning Portuguese? I think you've convinced me to read Frankenstein in October. I've never picked it up since I don't like horror but I'm going to try.
Yes, the clothbound was second hand, it was such a great find! I like the old Little Women movie, I recently watched the newest one and I thought that was pretty good too. I started learning Portuguese because my brother in law is from Brazil. Frankenstein is amazing, I only read it for the first time a few years ago but it's now a favourite book
@@jenniferlovesbooks Yep. Manuel Puig turned it into a play in 1983 isch. I saw it in the City Theatre in my hometown in Sweden around 10 years ago and I absolutley loved it. I never got around to read the book, though. I know I really should.
Great Haul Loved the mystery book
I love that you go to a book fair with your Dad, how sweet!!
You can never have too many editions of your favourite books ❤️
Thanks Charlie 😊
Some good books there. Best wishes.

Thanks Emily! I am so pleased with my new Anne of Green Gables book 💞
enjoyed seeing your book haul. Mary Shelly's Frankenstein is fantastic!
I love Frankenstein so much!
12:03 - "emotionally demanding" is an amazing phrase! 😂💜📚
Haha, yes, sometimes a very apt phrase 😂

Nice selection of books. I’m curious most about Fingersmith.
Fingersmith is such a wonderful novel, I think Sarah Waters is an amazing storyteller.

Haha, I was made up with my surprise book, the risk paid off 😁
I love the English Library classic editions soo much, that was an amazing find!
I hope you enjoy Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde
I'm very pleased with my little classics shelf! 😊
Frankinstein is the best x
What's the name of the bookshop in Liverpool sounds brilliant 😊
The book shop is called Pritchards, it's in Crosby (north Liverpool). It's quite small but they have a great selection of books.

I've just finished Fingersmith. Sadly it was my least favourite of the three I've read, the nightwatch and tipping the velvet were brilliant
I think the chronology of The Night Watch is such an effective way to tell the story. I love all of Sarah Waters books 😊
I saw Kiss of The Spiderwoman as a play it was amazing. Hopefully the book is just as good
Oh, that's really interesting, I didn't realise it had been a play as well!
